But can Clint keep what they would tell him in confidence? If not then I do understand not telling him, regardless how my heart feels for him. If I was him I'm sure I'd be angry, but really this is about finding Hailey, what has happened to her and bringing whomever is involved to justice.
Reality has a way of hurting sometimes.

Maybe they think Clint is vulnerable to being manipulated by people because of his emotional state. Someone might wheedle something out of him, poor man. :(

"If she is deceased I hope it was quick. I hope she didn't suffer. I honestly hope it quick," said Jones.

"If she's up there I have a lot of people up there taking care of her," cried Jones as she looked up. "If you are gone I will see you. I will hold you again I promise, and if you are here I'd love to see you.

Thanks tehc, that sure tugged at the heart strings.

Sounds like the "family" showing up at the presser was CD's sister and NS's mother. CD's sister did not speak to the press or make any statements that I can find. NS's mother, as usual, continues to refer to herself as HD's "grandmother" which she is not. (She may perceive herself to be such but in the eyes of the law - she is no such thing.) Her daughter is living with a married man who is not yet divorced so, they (NS and CD) are not married. In the eyes of the law, PT is nothing to HD. She may not like that but "thems" the facts.

Are we allowed a thread for all her media statements?

I also am not sure how grandmotherly someone would feel about a child who wanted her parents back together until the baby was born. Seems that might be a contention of sorts.

It seems the family members are coming out to speak now. I guess I'll get tomatoes thrown at me if I say I felt hink just listening to the few words they spoke. It felt not sincere.

No tomatoes here. I just listened and thought the exact same thing. Didn't feel sincere, imoo.

I absolutely agree. Why on God's green Earth should BJD's lawyer be telling CD anything! My heart aches for Clint, and he should not have gone through that. It seems that LE is lumping the entire family into one pile -- which certainly isn't the case. As far as BJD's family - well I think you know my take on that one. My apologies - as I thought they were there as well.

Hugs,

Mel

Maybe her laywer is also his laywer?

We tried talking to Billie Dunn, Hailey's mother, but she would not talk on camera because her lawyer has told her not to. She did tell NewsWest9 that she was not notified of any new developments and she doesn't believe her daughter is dead.

___________________________

She managed to talk even though her attorney was in the metroplex yesterday.

I wonder if she was outside PK's office or if the media tried to reach her at her house?

He we go:

From http://www.ktxs.com/news/27372485/detail.html

So PK *twice* says they have "reasons" to believe she is dead. I can totally see how they took this to mean that there is evidence, or information, that LE has, but did not tell them. And he repeated the same words, "reasons to believe", twice to ktxs. But later changes the wording, and backpedals it. I'm trying hard to stay away from bashing PK...but... I think we can all agree that he really needs to choose his words more carefully, in order to avoid confusion and anger like this in the future.

So frustrating just for us watching this case from afar. I can't imagine how frustrated Haileys loved ones must be. :(

The problem with PK for heavens sake, is that he is the city manager, not LE. He is the boss for the local town LE, but I doubt those LE are doing the investigation. That would be the job of the sheriff's department or state troopers (whatever they call them in Texas). He might hear *some* stuff, or rumours, but there is no way he would be on top of what is going on, so these press conferences and statements he gives out are just farcical.

I believed in the beginning that PK knew more of what was going on and just playing with BD & SA with his statements as well as keeping the investigation close to the vest, but after this fiasco, I'm no longer in his corner, and I'm beginning wonder just how much any of the local/CC LE know. He had Blevin's there this time. This was to appear that local LE was backing his previous statements....and Blevin's wouldn't say anything different; he's interim chief, PK his boss. You note how many times PK was using the word Chief in his introductory paragraph.....he's letting Blevins know....that scratching each other's back is a good thing. IMO Some hello must have hit the fan, because the mayor, PK's boss--- came out to smooth things over. imo

Well Geez...I've been thinkin'...PT was down at the PC because she perceives herself as family. Well, one of the "Grandmas" in this case has been married 7 times. If PT thinks she's family because her daughter had a child with CD who is still married to BD - just how many "family members" is LE expected to keep in the loop? (Just following the family tree could involve several investigators who might best be used on the case.)

I'm kidding obviously but the obviousness of the situation seems to have escaped some of "the family".

Maybe she considers herself family because, legally, Billie is her granddaughter's step mom.
Kinda hard to keep up with who's really family.

GAWD when this case goes to trial imagine the depositions? What people don't realize is if you insert yourself, you become a player and have a long road ahead of you. You also need to be prepared for the subpoena to testify.

  • #136
I can only imagine some of them might think being given a subpoena for this case would make them some kind of a "star". Imagine they could tell this story about how they had to testify for years to come.
Seriously some of these players make me stop and say WTF many times!

That's for sure how I feel about PT ...

Good post Ellebelle.
