She has been openly laughing many times today. This is a big joke to her as they talk about the decomposing smell of her daughter.

IMO

Good point. I don't that has escaped anyone here today. Nor JP or the SA's. I really hope JA doesn't have a heart attack or stroke over this case. We need him.

Can y'all help me with this question(s)?
Does the sequestering include one expert witness from hearing or seeing or reading another expert witness' testimony?
Can that expert be told what the other witness testified to?

The judge was mainly talking to JA during his warning....allowing JB to make a mockery of his courtroom and him is not what I expected. Guess ICA has won over another male.

Forced to donate to United Way? Is that even legal? Even with a sanction, the judge will collect the $100 for his fave charity??

I'm watching the same trial you are,Amster,This has me concerned. JA seems to be ticking HH off more JB.:waitasec: I don't get it.

JB and CM are wearing T-shirts that say " Got Appellate Issues? "

Amster, I believe as long as the donation is made to a non-profit organization, it is perfectly legal.

BBM and supersized and well...THREE teenage boys? May I ask if they are triplets? Regardless, you are super brave. The goatlike smell that they possess alone when they sweat...lol.

Yours is my favorite post of the day!

Haha, thank you! Fortunately (for sanity purposes) they are not triplets (I bow in reverence to anyone that has twins, triplets or more). Our teens are 14, 16 and 18. We also have two little ones. A 2 year old boy and a 4 1/2 year old girl (which is what peaked my interest in this case, as Caylee was just slightly older than my daughter).

As for the sweat....yeah, it can get bad...drives my wife nuts. :) I love the description you used....goatlike, that is great! I'm going to have to share that one with my wife. :)

LDB isn't there today to temper JA's emotions.
As much as I <3 JA, he's a grown man and seasoned lawyer - he should be tempering his emotions on his own. If he has problems doing that, then he should pull lots of $$$$ from the ATM. Come trial, the jury will see both sides as immature if they are sniping at each other. I want Baez to be the only lawyer who looks childish in front of the jury.

My opinions only.

Yes she said "THANK YOU". Jean C. said that she said "I Love You"...GEESSSH. That drives me nuts.

Miss Jean has been missing the mark quite alot, as of late. ICA clearly said "Thank You". Methinks JC is covering way too many cases and is not as sharp as she once was.

jmho

So I'm starting to wonder if JB's attempts to play a "seasoned trial lawyer" on TV will actually end up helping the State's Attorneys in the long run, in that he seems to be arguing his defense case in chief with every witness, versus arguing to the motion at hand. He can't seem to help himself (or know better). Thereby giving the SA an opportunity to be able to hone their arguments/rebuttals to a T come actual trial.

(Or, maybe I'm just looking for some kind of positive outcome from these shenanigans...)

i have to say we did witness one miracle today, CA denied strenuously at deposition that she had sprayed Febreze and fabric softener strips in the car. Now it seems that she has recovered her memory, and isn't it fortunate that what she remembered is helpful to the Defense. Just imagine if she had remembered something incriminating......

Will this cheer you up????

Not a chance. It is on wikipedia!!!:floorlaugh:

And facebook! If not, I expect a Chloroform page with the mood saying:"I am getting a bad wrap in Florida -- I am not in Fabreeze!" by nightfall! LOL

Okay, did I blow the margins? If so, someone tell me where!

This is one of those action . . . reaction things. Baez acts in his slimy way, trying to get things in through the back door, and JA reacts. Baez is doing what he is very good at, being a sleazeball & playing dirty. He will do it as long as he can get away with it, and JA ( and most of the court) sees this, and the longer it goes on, the more pissed he becomes. Since Baez knows this pushes JA's buttons, he gets a big kick out of it and all of this, and the more he does it, . . vicious circle. I think HHJP is on to this whole scheme of Baez',
and hopefully is just allowing him enough rope to hang himself. Mr Ashton just needs to repeat this mantra to himself, " Let it go, this evidence is coming in, we have a good case here."

I feel the same although tempered with a smidgeon of sympathy for JA since he is very frustrated with HHJP today, who is bending over backward to be 'fair'- ie allow everything in just in case of appellate issues.... Just what was the point of Sims' written agreement during the contempt issues? HHJP is not going to hold them to it and that's SO not what I expected from him.
:innocent:

BBM- I will volunteer!
I don't know about ripping up my trunk liner, but i lost one of my rims and have to go to a junk yard to see if i can find another 08 chevy cobalt so i can buy a rim... i can snag some trunk carpet and stick the swatch in my trunk with febreeze & dryer sheets.. my hubs works in an industrial park and the polymer place has one of those gcms machines... they have to test what htey're putting out in the environment.. i'm sure they'll let hubs run a test for me for chloroform if i slip 'em a couple bucks.

That would be great! I would love to see the big fat ZERO that comes up when the machine tests for chloroform! Hopefully, they will let you.

The attorney should be allowed to pick the charity....

I disagree. All the talk about shouting....directed solely to JA. That seemed to be his biggest gripe. The shouting. JB and his snarky comments were not even mentioned. Maybe the judge is trying to get on the good side of CM and prove he's not biased. He's doing a bang up job of that, IMO.

BBM

With all due respect, I disagree. It is a sanction, not a generous voluntary donation. IMO, the sanctioned attorney should have no say in what the court does with it.

And, as I understand it, this is a common practice.

JMHO

I have to agree with you on this. JA is displaying too much concern over Furton's testimony. IMO

I'm reading it a little differently. It's not so much the evidence it's the sneaky underhanded way that JB continues to operate. This is the other half of the stipulation that JB backed out of to avoid the contempt. Everyone knew JB wasn't sincere and even JP told JB that it looked like he had no intention of honoring that agreement when he made it. When JP said lets let DCS answer what she meant on that note that proves it. JB shushed her last week when she tried to speak to that issue. How many times has HHJP had to remind the DT there will be no ambush at this trial? I've stopped counting but he just made that comment to JB last week about this very same thing. If he didn't know better that's what it looked like, something to that effect.

I must find a medal for you somewhere...

I respectfully disagree. I reserve the right to change my mind after viewing it again. I feel sorry for jurors.............and last, but not least..........What new med caused CA to tamper with a car that smelled like a damn dead body.

Selective memory is convenient and answers so on the ready, it felt rehearsed and carefully worded as planned.

JMHO and I still love ya all!

I don't think I was clear on my point so I'll reiterate a little more. I agree, whatever possessed her to try to alter the odor in the car goes against the grain as she obviously knew what she was smelling and as a nurse by profession, her action to call police should have been her first action. Her recollection regarding the dryer sheet(s)? in the car was my point on her forgetting she had done that. For me, no amount of dryer sheets or Febreeze is going to squelch that odor. No way.....no how. The medication she was changed to after the car and KC had been taken into custody, I believe interfered with her ability to remember she had done that.
