:maddening::maddening::maddening:

IF he just prepared for his depo, answered the questions without denigrating the other specialists, then he might get a "pass" and a wing & a prayer acceptance. He IMHO appears to be landing on his past laurels and IMHO assumes that all "lawyerly" types are represented by JAB.

EDITORIAL: IMHO, he is a typification of the I'm a titled/tenured prof. and the rest of you are NOT, so don't challenge me! OR he was hi-jacked into the case via a "favor" to somebody and assumed that this would be an "easy-peasy" notch on the 'ole gun belt"

JB: "Dr. Furton I hate to drag you back and forth..."

Are ya kidding? It was the SA's that wanted to separate his testimony/cross! You insisted it be done together!

Table is from 9 publications comparing VOC's - state objects putting it into evidence -prepared by grad students for submission - HHJBP asks if KF reviewed publications he says yes. HHJBP letting it in

Judge did it again, Little Grinch Grin, what does this have to do with a Frye issue.

JB has no clue.

JB wants to ask KF about FBI labs - JA objects - JB saying that JA went down that road
sustained

Cm at table listening. Waiting for anything, but may prove himself if allowed in trial. I have seen this face many times before. He knows innocence is not there, but must find that odd loop hole, like JA did today.

Oh, a shot of ICA paying attention to the testimony and questions. She looks like she's seething.

OK, I had my screen wide open. Did anyone else catch Casey roll her eyes when human remains were just mentioned?

JA: its pretty simple you don't know all of dr. voss's work.

objection

JB: clearly argumentative.

JA: do you know if dr. voss's actual study found albutanoyl(sp?)
he does not state what the compounds are...

JA: is that what he says in this article?
Jose: objection

Dr. Logan says he can't see anything except the IT room
DCS: I'm sorry this is Dorothy Clay Sims, I'm the one with the bad hair

Dr. Logan is an expert toxicologist and Chemist...Have no clue what his expert opinion is tho :waitasec:

New witness being spoken to by D. Sims

Casey spoke to Jose as he smirked about what was going on and said something to her. She playfully bumped his arm(I do that to my husband and only males I feel friendly toward)which I am sure Casey feels friendly toward Jose. I think that is established, but does she think he will be her "friend" when this trial is over?

DS: can you tell us what a forensic toxicologist?
that part of toxicology that has medical legal consequences.

I'm national director for forensic services(labs). He oversees forensic toxicoligists that are responsible for a bunch of stuff...

crime lab overseer, personally has overseen medical cases and has testified.

Can someone tell me why they switched topics to the dogs then back to chloroform?

JB was using the witness to argue three different motions. The decomposition odor evidence, the chloroform evidence and the dogs. Rather than going back and forth between JB and the SA's, JB did all, then the state was allowed to split who crossed on what subject. JA was handling the odor and chloroform, LDB is doing the dog related witnesses. Then JB gets to redirect.

OK. Dr. Logan's office has about 25 official accreditations.

He's now outlining his own professional affiliations.

D. Sims is asking witness what groups he belongs to.
witness belongs to many forensic groups

D. Sims asking about decomp.

witness says he has worked with living and deceased. you have to have some type of knowledge of these fluids because they show up in specimens. I have had some experience with decomp as a forensic toxicologist. When he was at university did experiments with pigs left out to decompose.

He has some general familiarity with. will not say has performed testing to find decomp signature.

DS: are you familiar with the gas chromatgrapher and the other thing.
yes, they are standard and are accepted.

:twocents: Baring anything specific aka scientific, Dr. Logan is presenting exactly as he does "in person"......calm, collected, "personable" and rather without an abundant ego. :seeya:

He's good on the stand, I bet! :innocent::innocent::innocent:

And good ole DCS "learned" from the others......asking what articles et al he is CO-AUTHOR or Author
