Mason has enough money to buy a decent hearing aid,I am sick of "I can't hear from CM" :maddening:

So true:floorlaugh:

Sounds like an older gentleman responding. SA has no objection.
CM asking if he has medical problems, has he considered the impact on family? He could deal with it. He is working at delivery, graveyard shift, would be paid the entire time...

the man works in route delivery not actual reporting.

How many strikes does each side get?

I think I read they get 10 for "no cause". IOW, just because they don't get a good feeling, not based on anything.

I need to look up the rest. I think there each side also gets 3 "for cause" strikes, too. Will explain in a bit.

Wow, so two potentials are males with kids so far. I can just hear CA screaming at the television.

OK so HHJP wouldn't let CM stall with the hearing stunt, so he is resorting to questioning each and every juror even though Perry said this is just the "hardship" portion, not voir dire.

<Unusual Person>!!

Hey CM, these questions you are asking are not going to sway a persons civic duty to serve on the jury. Hard as you try to convince them, it's not gonna happen.

  • #690
Wow looks like they are going to get a jury, everyone wants in on this trial:twocents:

Juror 1232
Male
No hardship

Mason has a question.

Mason- You have no medical probs, are you a caretaker of anyone, are you married, have children, impact this will have on your family

He is married and has a child...browses internet, no problem for him to be away from it.

Dang! Does Mason plan to do this to every juror?

  • #692
Juror #3 - mgr at ST petersburg times. paid for jury duty, married, no health issues, no vacation plans, no religious issues w/ sequestration, lack of internet will not cause hardsip, CM brings up lack of TV - is that OK, and he says not an issue,

juror #1232 released

  • #693
With only 10 strikes, no way will they be able to strike everyone who has a child.

  • #694
CM needs to sit down. He is trying to talk each person out of serving. He is asking questions that do not apply to harship.

Weird, the second juror had an 89 year old father who moved to FL from Ohio, just like Cindy. The third juror is a manager for a newspaper in the home delivery dept. just like GA used to be. Hmmmmm.

The look on HHJP's face when Baez objected to the racial demographics not being what he'd like to see (blacks/hispanics not enough) and then the look when Baez interrupted the judges exchange with the 2nd jury candidate tells me that he's about done with the delay tactics. He already warned Mason about the hearing issue when they discussed the 'no real time' for him.

This is going to get interesting as the DT gets more and more frantic

CM is really annoying me with these quesitons.....hope they are there till the wee hours due to these stupid questions...the one who specifies a hard ship they object about---everyone else.....PLEASE:maddening:

  • #699
I'm missing someone from the defense team ~ Does anyone see the jury consultant that didn't quit/wasn't fired? Looks to me that CM is acting in his place.

  • #700
I'm not understanding the defense strategy -- they're trying to dissuade peeps who can serve and trying to keep peeps who have a hardship? Jeez -- and we're only on #3...
