So it seems like this guy asks the same questions the judge does. Why is he doing that sometimes and not on others?

asking if it would be a hardship.

potential juror said right away it is no hardship for her.

judge reminds her, her picture will not be shown. can visit family once a week. can speak to family on phone. need to pay bills, use internet banking and will have access to a computer to do that.

potential juror says she is closing on a house and needs papers. judge says they will accomodate her on that. papers will be faxed for her.

CM asks her if she is in the middle of litigation. Potential juror says she is in the middle of a divorce. but it will not get in the way of being a juror. CM asks if she has medical needs or special needs.

any plans for holidays? CM asks.

potential juror says there is a wedding but if she don't go tis okay.

CM: do you have any children? any parents to take care of? are you employed?

no kids, no parents to take care of.

She works at a hospital and her job is totally cool with that and is even paying her.

I can't believe how CM is trying to hold the proceedings up. I'm so tired of the DT's silly tatics. It's about time they realized this is going to happen....PERIOD!

She does have children ("she's closing a house with them") but it seems they're older..Did I hear that with this juror or am I going nuts? lol

IMHO: CM is going to try and "talk" everyone out of wanting to be on the jury. :doh:

I don't know if I would WANT to leave my family for so long. But I would HAVE to unless there was a hardship - these poor people.

IMO the defense is tipping their hand on which potentials they are worried about. The SA has not asked a single additional question during this phase, whereas CM is subjecting those they don't like to the extended questioning/probing, trying to bring up other conflicts they may not have thought of. I'm sure the SA is taking good notes on this "tell."

Is it a problem that this pot juror mentioned to her employer she thought it would take "4 weeks?" It would lead me to believe she had a notion about the trial itself.

I said earlier - I think with the "leak" about Pinellas county (and just this coming to a courthouse in fl) A lot of people took the time to connect the dots and ask questions
