That seems unfair. This would totally change her life at this time. They should let her go.

This will change every jurors life. They had to change venues for one of the biggest cases ever. They need to hold on to every possible potential juror or they risk not being able to seat an entire jury.
If they get enough they may still let her go.JMO :seeya:

It's your civic duty to serve on a jury. Suppose you were the accused - would you want people like yourself on the jury (assuming you're innocent, of course)?

I agree with you on the surface, but since jury selection has become a circus show, I don't buy into that thinking anymore.

The problem is that now 1 person's religious beliefs become a reason for dismissal, but another person (with the same beliefs) has to stay because they suddenly meet some perfect profile for the State or the Defense. It's become nothing but a game to the players involved, with little regard for the people they are putting out, hardly a civic duty anymore.

If some sort of consistency in selection came about again, then I think people would start to think differently about participating in the process.

Actually while I was out of the office earlier I watched some and heard HHJP tell them there would be some weekend trips!!

Now they are speeding along. Having potential jurors call in the back to see if work will pay. But this is true - this is a big trial and I hate to say it, if I could get past the small picture and see the book deal ahead, me, as a single mom of 3, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get on this jury. I have an opinion of her though already, but I wonder how many people are seeing the big pic.
