Does anyone know what got ICA blubbering today or was i just a breaking moment for her now that she will be made to answer for her crime?

HHJP was reeling off the charges against her and talking about penalties, including the death penalty.

ICA got over it pretty quickly though, but used up a big pile of those brown paper towels they have in rest rooms - ugh - no momma there to pass her some kleenex....

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but part 9 on WFTV links to an incorrect link. I've emailed them, and he said the correct link can be found here:
http://www.wftv.com/video/27829963/index.html

At about the 7 min mark of this 9th segment, a guy asked to be excluded because he knew alot about the case and thought Casey was guilty. The look on her face was priceless!!

Someone asked, "no giggling today then?" on the other thread. And another remarked, "if I had never seen ICA before today, I might think she was really scared and think she is innocent."

Thank you both. Where are the giggles? The jovial air about the defense? And, sure it is time to preform for Casey. Oh, god jurors~do you see what is being done to an innocent girl like me!?

(I need to understand the thoughts and feelings behind the behavior(s). I do that with everything and everyone. )

It seems the giggles and joviality are coming from the state today. Really bad form, and very disrespectful coming from the people who are tasked with getting justice for sweet Caylee IMO.

Jury selection Pt 2 @ 13:40 mark.

ha... I missed the brown paper towels. She should be used to those by now though.

I still think all of it is defense tactic - JB and defense read the blogs and I'm sure they have seen the side by side photos of he and ICA making faces at each other and "the middle finger thing". If we made an issue about JB and ICA hugging in jail and he got called out about it by the jail, then the defense knows that they can't take a chance that the jury might wonder what's up with them. They made CM ICA's grandpa. Remember at the motion hearing and CM kept referring to her as "a girl". I really really could off here and ICA and JB are mad as heck at each other but it seems like a defense tactic to me. This defense team isn't as dumb as they come across. Like JB pulling the "Dr. Vass" rabbit out of the hat today. It was planned. This trial is serious. It's about Caylee. But it is a game to the defense, in the high stakes poker kind of way. It's win win, nothing else, by any tactic. Everything they do at this point has been planned. We keep trying to give them our level of emotional involvement in this case. To them, at this point, it's business.

I know the economy is bad,and that people are concerned about their jobs, but I was not impressed with the potential jury selection. The ones that are coming back, were mindblowing. especially the lady who said she could not judge someone, they requested she come back.. The nurses and Dr's were excluded, the business people said they could not do it. I know this is a long trial, but people, this is jury duty, someone has to step up to the plate for jury deliberations.Someone to corral all these folks together, from the snipets I got today,I have not heard a "leader" yet. JMHO:twocents::waitasec:

After watching today's jury selection, I really think they need to streamline the process of selecting a jury. There should be a brief form that each prospective juror fills out immediately upon arriving for jury duty. This form should ask:

A. Would serving on a trial that's expected to be longer than 2 weeks be a financial hardship........Yes or No.

B. Do you have any health problems that would prevent you from serving on a trial expected to be longer than 2 weeks..........Yes or No.

C. Do you have any family obligations - being a care-giver, that would prevent you from serving on a trial expected to be longer than 2 weeks........Yes or No.

D. Do you have any other reasons that would prevent you from serving on a trial that's expected to last longer than 2 weeks............Yes or No.

It would take less than 10 minutes for each prospective juror to fill out this brief form. Then a jury supervisor would announce that if anyone answered Yes to any of the four questions please take a seat in the room next door. At that point, they could have people get in a line - one line for those who answered Yes to item A; one line for those who answered Yes to item B; one line for those who answered Yes to item C; and one line for those who answered Yes to item D. They could have four jury specialists briefly question the prospective juror, and if that juror had a valid reason for not being able to be on the jury, they could be dismissed at that point.

This would mean that all the jurors sent to the courtroom would have been prescreened, and only the ones who could serve would be sent. The Voir Dire process could then begin.

Okay, I am all caught up! I am so mad about the air samples!! What is WRONG with JB?? Hope that something can be done and fast!! If they are completely excluded, could Dr. Vass still give his opinion on the smell of the car??

Anyways, I also want to address Brad Conway and Mark Nejame.

Brad - he has never even met Casey Anthony so I do not know why he feels the need to comment on whether or not she will testify. I do not put any credit into what he says for a few reasons 1) His LKL interview when he stated that the duct tape was most likely not wrapped around Caylee's skull... or something like that. 2) When BD resigned as attorney for the Anthony's, I remember that he stated that he would remain dedicated and supportive to the Anthony's.

Look, I don't blame him for wanting to distance himself from the Anthony's, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see him all the sudden start popping up... almost like he is begging for a chance to be on the news. I find nothing honorable in what he is doing. He could not get the Anthony's to keep quiet like their present lawyers have. He allowed them to continue to go on interviews and he was always along for the ride. He sat idle while his clients lied and lied and lied... and he even lied with them/for them.

When he began representing the Anthony's, he did it pro bono. That was his choice and I see nothing but another shameful lawyer simply wanting a piece of the pie. I can see his beady little eyes filled with $$$$ signs.

As for MN - He is not as BAD as BC, but I do not think he should be commenting on this case unless it has something to do with TES or Tim Miller. I can not say the things about MN that I said about BC because MN has always made it known that he in no way would be willing to represent anything Casey Anthony. That he only represented the Anthony's. I just do not think it is the right thing to do... after he was directly involved in this case... to comment on certain things. I don't think he is in it for $$$$$. I think he truly wants Justice for Caylee and always has. I just have to go with my gut and I think it is wrong to speak of anything but TES and Tim Miller... because they are his clients.

I also have a huge problem with Linda Kenny-Baden. She freaking QUIT!! She has some cojones to go on television and talk about the lack of forensic science when she QUIT! If it was such a slam dunk... no scientific case... she would have stayed on board. She would have! I think what she did was cowardly and I put her right up there with that Jury specialist that quit just a few days ago.

Okay... I am going to breathe for a minute.

There has gotta be a thwart-cake in this dessert buffet somewhere...

Gotta get rid of the dog sitter's and groomers. Three were excused today because they are self employed and could not afford to lose the clientele.

The one juror that I think that caller into Nancy Grace was refering to was the guy who was selling his business and said it would set him back half a million dollars to leave for 6-8 weeks. The caller seemed peeved that this man, who was obviously weathy refused to serve. I don't care how rich the guy was... a half a million dollars is HALF A MILLION DOLLARS!! That is a lot of money to ask anyone to simply give up. He probably worked his whole life in order to get where he was at!

Some people just make me laugh because of how they think??

So far as I know, we still don't know who the lady in the sea foam green jacket and short dark hair was, and we still don't know why BC was there behind KC today, right?

Love the way you vented about LKB. I agree with you 100%. She left this case along with others and has no business inserting her opinions.
Go catch your breath now.

This is my first time watching a jury selection and it is fascinating. It is amazing how much you can relate to just voices. It is also amazing to me how you can pick up on a lot of things from their voices.

I really liked the retired crisis counselor. She was in the very early morning. I want to say she was called third. I think she may be very good, but I do not think that the defense would want someone who would laugh at the thought of Casey suffering from any kind of crisis. Well, it should have been a crisis, just not to Casey. She made it to the next round.

My favorite female today was the first dog sitter. I believe it was her? She really felt bad about not being able to serve and even tried to think of any way she could make it happen, but she just couldn't. Sad because I believe she would have been perfect.

My favorite male was the man with the birds. He is older, but he seems very capable. He made it to the next round.

The first male... sounded younger... he needs to be let go ASAP! He wants on this jury and bad! Also the woman with the religious beliefs that would prevent her from convicting Casey. She said she could not judge anyone... which means she would not be able to convict her let alone sentence her.

Who else?? Oh, and the one Spanish woman who JB stated spoke to him before jury selection began. He made such a big stink of this woman coming up to him and asking him a question and just let it linger... and then he said the only question she asked him was if he spoke Spanish... in Spanish. That really irked me!

I think the reward of the day goes to the young man who was able to say that he could not serve because he had already formed his opinion and thought that Casey was guilty. That was the best moment of the day!

Oh, and just for JB's benefit... my tally of "non-Caucasion" jurors stand at

3- African American
2- Asian
6- Hispanic

I thought when JB had objected to the jury that he said there were only two Hispanic people there??

I think the reason ICA was crying is because she CANNOT believe it has come to this. First she thought she could lie her way out of it. Then she thought as long as Caylee wasn't found they could not say she was dead. Then she thought the science was "junk"..oops it all came in! Then she thought there would be a "mistrial" by which I think she meant it would be thrown out. I think JB has been telling her all this stuff as well (except the first lying part). I think JB talked to her about accepting a plea deal. I think all this is the reason that ICA is cold towards JB. I think she is furious with him that she is actually here instead of on her RV trip. IMO

I think the reason ICA had that crying spell was because this has always been her modus operandi. She has used it with her family and close associates when ever she was "caught' and it always got her out of trouble. Due to her small size, people felt sorry for her, basically she played them and merrily skipped away without any recourse or consequence. I think this was her ploy for the jurors, because she "shuts" it off too easily for it to be a heart felt cry JMHO:twocents:

How are you able to watch the jury selection? In Florida? I'm in N.Y. Live stream?

The thing is... Casey could not even cry when juror after juror after juror talked about their own children and how they could not leave them behind for that amount of time. Casey should have been bawling up a storm listening to all these women and men talking about their children. She almost seemed annoyed at how many people had children and couldn't just toss them on the side of the road and become a juror for HER case! :banghead:

My final ends at 10:30 AM EST tomorrow and then I can watch the jury selection. I don't get TruTV but someone posted earlier that one of the local TV stations puts up a live feed. Anyone have a link that I can bookmark for Tuesday?
