HHJP: if the circumstances of a case, and you had weighed the factors, and it added up could you vote for a sentince of death?I think I can.
HHJP: on the other hand, after weighting the mitigating factors do you think you could recommend LWOP.

Yes sir
.

Ok.......folks......if she gets through....and we get to a penalty face THIS will be the one that says LWOP! Mark my words!

JA: when he asked you the question about death you said, yes I can. when he said life you said, "yes."

on the death once I hear more evidence maybe I can say yes. and the parole for life I say yes.

JA: are you telling me that depending on the facts, you might think death is appropriate?? You as a juror, if the facts and law call for it take the responsibity and take another human being and raise you hand and say I think that person should die for what they did. You said you don't like to judge, is that based on your not wanting to do it or the facts.

the facts.

JA: if the facts showed, then you could vote for death.

yes.

JA: are there any crimes where the dp aught to be the sentince you should get?

I don't know...

JA: you are able to listen to the evidence and weight both sides...

correct.

JA: are you afraid of disapproval?

no sir.

My mom doesn't have any friends left, but she's smart and fair and would make a great juror. She does have 6 daughters and a son who all live within 25 miles of her.

I can understand this.

I'm a wife, mother to 6 kids, work part-time, VERY involved with my church, missions, and my kids activities and schools. Most of my socializing revolves around these activities.

Not much time for anything more, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

This woman scare me. She answers what she thinks the questioner wants to hear. Does she even know there is such a thing as hair banding? dna?

I like this potential juror as well.

Something has changed I think, it seems to me that some of these PJs didn't want to be on the Jury day 1...... but now it seems like they are all over willing...to me.

Did they hear that it is a big case and they can make money on it after? I can't imagine why a woman like this who has no friends, keeps to herself, watches no tv other than cowboy and westerns, does not read news and previously stated she could not judge people - would do a complete 180 and want this kind of aattention.

I would think a woman like this would NOT want to be involved int his if she KEEPS TO HERSELF. MO

Not too sure about this lady. She seems easily influenced, or unsure, or maybe she is just nervous. Something just doesn't seem right.

  • #991
I'll eat my hat if this PJ isn't stricken by the State.........if not now - later.

  • #992
State: no questions

  • #993
Ok.......folks......if she gets through....and we get to a penalty face THIS will be the one that says LWOP! Mark my words!

AS long as she's in the minority......

Ok.......folks......if she gets through....and we get to a penalty face THIS will be the one that says LWOP! Mark my words!

And I'm okay with that...as long as she is ACCOUNTABLE for her actions against her poor child....

 My son has AS.

I worry about this juror because if she isn't used to socializing, she might have issues being sequestered.

Ah! Yes. My daughter has Aspergers.

  • #998
why would they choose not to question???

do they not want her?

  • #999
Ashton asking about voting death very clearly. I think she is pausing about the death penalty because she doesn't have the evidence to say yes right now. That is my comment BTW.
So she is basing it on the facts. So if you have all the facts and they are clear to you that you could raise your hand and vote death. Yes, Sir.
No special feelings about what cases automatically need a death penalty. No Sir.
Would you face any negative feelings from your church if you voted for the death penalty. No Sir.
Jury voir dire - Mr. Ashton needs a moment - no questions.
Mr. Baez is up.
