Uh oh - Mason worried that he won't get to his steak and crab puff dinner reservation tonight.

If you can't do it - RETIRE!!!!!

Ooooh Loved the slapback on being in court ALL DAY tomorrow. There goes the weekend, CM.

Mason complaining.
Doesn't like to work Long hours...OH boy Judge said they'll be working all day Saturday...I see a temper tantrum coming

Mr Mason if you are soooo concerned about working long hours you really should have considered RETIRING...Just Sayin'

HHJP: we need you to step out for a second. We will call you back in a minute. Okay, we have 25 more jurors. This is what I am going to do. We are going to finish to juror 21, whatever it takes. Ah, and then ah I'm gonna let the rest go home for the evening and ask that they return. What I want to do is go back there and apologize to them and give them instruction I can do it in your presence. It is up to you.

JA: ?

JB: ?

CM: at the pace we are going in to days...? I just heard you eight...beyond...five...everybody else's physical endurance. eleven at night is not appropriate...eight to go beyond that...

HHJP: how many would you suggest?

we are going to work a half a day tomorrow

HHJP: no we are going to work a whole day

CM: even if we get three more we will be here till dark...you just can't get less than a hour and a half...just for three or four it is eight or nine at night...it is overly burdensome on us.

HHJP: you want to stop at sixteen?

I have to agree with CM on this one...getting thru 21 is kind of crazy for tonight...

Entire day on Saturday.

Mason doesn't want to work until 10:00 PM EDT as he can't do it!

I actually don't blame him. His opinion could have probably been stated a little better..but I don't blame him.

I think this guy is going to get dumped, IF not today, tomorrow...He is unwilling to use age as a mitigating factor in this case...DT will NOT consider him.....

We will see I guess!!

CM complaining about the time going into this....JP wants to go to 21 and CM is willing to go to 16 PT's...

I really think this is what this lady was talking about and not judging because of race. It really is a very sensitive issue which sometimes spills over into personal conversations without them realizing it. The problem is they did not really speak with her long enough to get an idea of how she felt. I would imagine she felt very uncomfortable with the questions but that does not mean she would not be a good juror. jmo

I listened to her carefully. She seems a bit dotty to me. Sweet but lacking in intelligence and possibly some life experience. her interests are limited to westerns and computer games. No friends. But most important, she was unable to understand some basic questions. My problem with this is that when people cannot understand something, they will discard it altogether and go off instinct.: "Well, i saw the pictures of this young lady holding her baby. They looked so sweet together! Oh, she couldn't have killed her on purpose! I saw her smile at me in the courtroom and she looks so nice. Also, I really liked CM, he was so nice to me! And that young JB was too!"

She will likely respond to the smarminess of JB and the folksiness of CM better than to the professionalism of the state. JB already had her eating out of his hand. Nice old ladies who are not bright or quick tend to respond to sweetness, not facts. I think of even my mom, who is ridiculously smart, but who had agreed to some major purchases based on what she feels about the salesman. I then come in and can see he is schmoozing her. She then gets mad when I try to stop it because she doesn't like her instinct challenged. And my mom is whip smart! So what happens with a lady like this who is not?

Just remember all the people on websleuths who had a hard time believing a nice looking young mom could have hurt her baby. They were steadfast for a long time and had their own innocence thread. Many people now still are convinced it was only an accident and these are smart people who have seen all the evidence.

We have pondered this case for almost three years. This lady will have to rush through in two months and I don't think she will comprehend a fifth of it. Very worried where I was supremely confident before.

Mason: We will work till 9 or 10 PM at night. That is overly burden[some.]

if they would stop the dang questions... and narrow it down to a few questions then they would be able to get through these things. Typical DT stalling tactic!

okay - watching LIVE cnn coverage, camera flashed to defense table with ICA (1:40pm pst), and RB was putting her laptop over to the side, and SAW WS's blue headline on her computer.... :great:

we should keep a close eye out for screen caps of that, cause we know for a fact they read here :D we're a freaking goldmine for both sides.

Hi DT!! You got a problem working late Mason -- then quit dwaddling. Your losing daylight sir.
