Just thinking that the DT is planning to use all 10 of their strikes when they reach the 12 mark, just to delay this further. At that point they will have to re-interview at least 10 more potentials. :maddening:

I agree...I think we are seeing the DT waiting until they reach 12 before they begin to use their strikes. I think it is a good strategy for both sides to hold out and then make a determination as to who stays or goes.

Holy carp! My dog went nutso and I looked out the window to find our horse walking down the street! LOL! Horsie safe, crisis averted.

he was out all night on a bender- walk of shame. put him in time out!

JUROR RECAP #1312

Pretrial Publicity: *Doesn't watch or read much news. *Has seen a few interviews with "Casey and a young man". *Watches 60 Minutes and 48 Hours. *Heard about Caylees remains being found. *Doesn't have (and doesn't like) Facebook. *Says Casey is "very emotional". *Doesn't recall any blogs or programs she's watched/read about the case. *Says the media is "a little bit intimidating". *No concerns about the media- believes she can remain fair/impartial. *Camera in the courtroom wouldn't distract her. *If the media contacted her post-trial, she says she would answer their questions but it isn't something she'd "voluntarily seek out". *Indifferent about serving on the jury.

Death Penalty Stance: For it. *Is fine recommending either life in prison w/o parole or the death penalty. *Could recommend the DP if the facts were conclusive. *Says she believes each scenario should be looked at individually. *Wouldn't try to pressure another juror if they disagreed. *Considers age, history of abuse, social history, and behavior as types of mitigating circumstances.

Misc.: *Works at a hospital as a pre-admission and anesthesia nurse. *Lived in PA her whole life before moving to Florida. *In PA, worked as a surgical nurse for 23 years. *No experience with police or rescue dogs, but has a friend who trains service dogs and has seen how that person trains dogs. *Says she is "not 100% sure that PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is a real disorder". *Has treated victims of both physical and sexual abuse during her hospital work.

Family: *In the process of going through a divorce. *Has 2 children (ages 30 and 32) and 2 grandchildren (ages 4 and 5 months)- all live in Florida. *Daughter currently on probation (requested to talk to attorneys/judge in a sidebar to explain why). *Very active in her grandkids lives. Sees them about 1 time per week. *Brother was on trial for armed robbery 25 years ago and acquitted (she attended his trial).

Describes herself as..: *A nurse. *Active in her family. *A fair person. *Loves to read. *Has a close network of friends (mainly in her neighborhood).

State: No challenges/objections. Defense: No challenges/objections

Called back for next round.

These recaps are wonderful! Thank you so much for doing this...I'm so busy right now with Graduation for my son and company coming in that I haven't been able to follow as closely as I would like.
If you've done this for several potential jurors I think it would be great if the mods could gather those post and put them in a sticky. :rocker:

That would be bad for them because they would have to take the next 10 who could be worse than the ones the struck. As I see it now both sides will strike one. The last women from the state and the one male from the defense.

Omg judging by his answers this PJ may as well be my dad.
Only difference, my dad has yet to retire.

PJ is working on his own website. He would like to sell something. No website currently.

First memory of this case - ICA being arrested for the death of her child. Been retired a year, do you watch TV, sometimes, the news - at 6:00 watch the local news, not a regular thing. Will scan and watch something, NC, no, CBS early show, all no's, magazine's - goldmine, interested in music, no People magazine. No regular newspapers, just got the local news. Has a computer, does not go online to major news sites, goes online, does not really know what blogging is. Goes to EBay, Amazon. Do you go to news sites - has Yahoo on his home page.

From what I understand each side is supposed to get 10 strikes :waitasec:

Also, yesterday IS was saying they needed 40 people in this process. 20 for jurors and alternates and 20 for the 10 strikes each side gets so I don't understand how we can have 12 tonight?

Okay, this is MOO for how HHJP wants to do this.

They need 12 for the jury. As soon as he has the 12, he will have the respective sides make their decisions on whether or not to strike. Say 4 get stricken. That leaves 8 for sures. Then they only have to get 12 more. Repeat until they have the 20.

IMO HHJP is doing it this way vs. doing it en masse to keep on schedule. IMO, the DT has cut off their nose to spite their face, by trying to drag this out, they are cutting into their juror choices. Silly DT.

never seen or heard interviews from CA or GA nor attorney(s).

Frank George comes off as a very kind man. Just my impression after finally getting to see him in action.

Each one is being put in the sticky - Unexcused jurors.
