Aedrys, I think all ICA has to say is "Yes, your Honor".
"Yes, Your Honor . . . I wish I would have been a better Mother".
Aedrys, I think all ICA has to say is "Yes, your Honor".
It wouldn't surprise me if someone else has suddenly "pled guilty" to this, three ring circus and all.
Defense counsel Lisabeth Fryer files a motion to contest the method of jury selection Wednesday.
Doesn't make sense for JB to leave the courtroom and not return if Lisabeth filed the motion. Why didn't JB the lead attorney talk to ICA?
MOO
Mel
But who is going to hear it? HHP said the US Supreme guidelines are 50 jurors and two alternates to choose a jury from - and he said the Defense has had 200, well above.
The US Supreme Court did not say it had to be a choice between 50 jurors who have been cleared for a death penalty trial and the DT was trying to argue that because "they couldn't determine what was ahead". Which makes no sense to me at all - who can see what was ahead?
Well, obviously the DT suspects that the WS Members can, and the 10 PJ's who walked in and said they couldn't serve because they think she is guilty.
Oh, just shoot me if that happens. Of course, CA and GA have been visibly absent this whole time jury selection is going on...
Things I noticed in my WTH I had all day to watch moment of shock!!
1. Perry looked mad. He gave someone a long hard look and I think the DT should be ashamed. He has done nothing but bent over backwards for them Poof you I say to the DT.
2. The SA's are always cleaned up and out of the courtroom quickly. Entire defense team packed up (CM was cramming binders and files into boxes) and they were gone.
SA's were still around - everything out on their table. LDB was showing George I think something on her laptop. What is up????
ARRGGHHH. I hope the door hit BAEZZ on the rear on his way out.
3. No way BAEEZZ could ever write a motion so whatever it may, you can rest assured he didn't write it - it would be someone else.
4. E-filing. We efile most everything here. Would it be necessary for him to go in person to file something??? He could efile it and then call to set a hearing.
ARRGGH again. I just answers and for CA to rot away. That is all. Oh, GA and CA as well. Thanks.
O/T but not
WS just broke the record of most user ever online. The record was held that fateful day in Dec. 08 when Dr. G announced that the remains found were, indeed, Caylee Anthony.
Seems that record was broke today at 3:06 PM EST.
Ok - back to figureing this mess out.
OK so now isn't this putting the cart before the horse? Say Judge Perry is wrong. It would be grounds for the verdict to be set aside. But if he is not wrong, and the higher court rules against Baez, then he has lost that shot at the higher court right?
I'm not getting this at all. I think this young attorney of his is very smart, the one that made the motion this morning but she is not a match for Judge Perry when it comes to case law.
The proper way for this to have been handled would have been for Baez to ask the court for the afternoon off to take his appeal to the higher court. So unprofessional to just disappear like he did.
I keep going back to him wanting Judge Strickland thrown off the case. Jose got what he wanted and has been sorry every minute since. And this one could blow up in his face also. Time will tell.
If this is to taint the jury or delay so that they don't have time to seat a jury, then he should be held in contempt. This is making a mockery of the legal system.
And...if an attorney was needed to file an appeal why go with the lead attorney? They could have sent DS. There's some game playing going on here...regardless if an appeal was filed or not.She made a verbal motion and argued first thing this morning. HHJP denied the request.
For clarity: This article does NOT specify that she (or anyone else) filed an interlocutory appeal with the appellate court.
