Okay - I got kicked off the site again so spent the last 20 minutes cruising the news outlets and find there is no confirmation whatsoever out there - it is all speculation and everyone making their best guesstimate and hoping they don't end up with egg on their faces.
Bill S. says it could be anything from illness to a plea deal - in other words he has no freaking idea either...

I agree . I am a little nervous, about him being ill. Maybe he suffered from som sort of anxiety attack or something thinking it was a heart attack, I don't know. I feel like he's in over his head a bit.

However,
Seeing the judges glare at the DT table-- it wouldn't add up. He really is not happy. The smile ICA gave her DT friends was not smirky to me but a isn't this too bad smile. An "I'm suffering but trying to be strong smile". IMO of course. Guess all we can do is wait and see. Hopefully all will continue.

I do have to go along with the poster that said ICA is known for waiting until she has painted herself into a corner before she relents. Taking the police to her "work" and waiting 31 days to admit darling Caylee is missing.

Maybe CM and JB disagreed on something prior to this morning, hence he is not in court. ICA did not approve of this, wanted CM more than JB. JB talks with ICA says ok, CM comes in talks to CA and we chg atty roles tomorrow. JB not at lunch, not returning to court??? Was he in HJP chambers after lunch at all do we know. Did ICA pass any notes todays? Where was CM and did he need that extra 15 minutes that JB ask for to get to court?

I'm very behind so pardon if this has already been commented on. I think it's the motion from this morning. IIRC, they said it hadn't been filed and the SA office didn't even have a copy of it at the time.

Scrambling to keep up between server issues and other interruptions.

WS just broke the record of most user ever online. The record was held that fateful day in Dec. 08 when Dr. G announced that the remains found were, indeed, Caylee Anthony.

Seems that record was broke today at 3:06 PM EST.

Ok - back to figureing this mess out.

That's because if you want to see breaking news from a multitude of sources, you go to Websleuths, where everyone's radar is scanning all of the time and you can find boatloads of really nice, intelligent, supersleuthers!! Why waste time anywhere else??

Ok after rethinking this whole recess and canceling court for the rest of the day. I happened to remember that yesterday when the mic was left on in court , A poster had stated the SA was reading the list of PJ's over out loud in court.

I wonder if that is what lead to JB leaving to file for something and then the rest of court being canceled as it would be pointless to continue if the Jury pool list was public.

Here is my problem with this. The simple fact that it is JB that has left. Any member of the defense team could have gone to do this. Not every member has to be present for every step of jury selection. So long as KC is informed and agrees one could easily step out to do the filing with the courts blessing. It would not stop or disrupt the proceedings. failing that the DT could have requested a recess to do so. Whether or not it would have been granted it would have been a necessary step, wouldn't it? and it would have been addressed in open court. There is nothing requiring privacy there.

So it begs the question just what is up with JB? If he has in fact claimed to the court that he is suddenly ill, I really hope he has not just a doctors note, but a doctor who is prepared to be dragged into court and sworn in to explain what medical necessity he had. Now it's possible that JB is legitimately ill? Doesn't he suffer from ulcers? But god help him if he is trying to sneak around or pull something on the court at this stage.

and it was right after he said he wanted to get to work and stay there...

I do not see him leaving being related to an appeal... he has something going on at home most likely

Yes! And this morning in court I saw her say to him (animatedly and smiling, "wait! just wait!" ) She is calling the shots!

There was at least one juror maybe 2 who had to change their travels plans and were supposed to be told today either to do it or not.

This really upsets me. One person's rights outweigh any rights of individuals who are guilty of nothing. I believe Casey deserves a fair trial but look at the number of lives she has involved both before Caylee disappeared, just after, the searches, Law Enforcement, legal proceedings, off the wall motions, and now in this process. Jurors losing their privacy rights, their ability to live their lives by watching news, getting on their computers, having to carefully chose every word they speak to others. The possibility of 8 weeks or more away from their loved ones. All because of one person.

Well, that explains why it has taken 20 minutes to get back on this thread. OK so to recap for everyone . . . where we left off last night w/Levi and Tricia. . . Repeat . . . Tricia is not having 's baby nor Arnold's baby. There was an offer for last night . . . however Mrs. has yet to weight in. . . . .

What we know since last night . . . .
Not a darn thing folks!!!!

Well not much . . . .

We know
1) DT tried to argue things were just too fast for their client and objected to the manner in which HHBP had decided to put the first 12 through swearing . . . thus losing their pre-emptive strikes once the first 12 are chosen. HHBP did say they could have one time to kick off an alternate but other than that the case would proceed on Monday morning.

2) Did not see a lot of JB today but the camera was not on him most of the morning. . . .he did argue he felt he needed to do the best he could to keep the promise he made to KC. HHBP assured JB that he had done so.

3) KC wiped each eye one time before leaving the table but smiled to people on her way out . . . debate over whether that was crying although KB who was in the courtroom said KC was visibly crying coming in and going out.

4) JB did not return to court @ 12:45, nor 1:00 nor 1:15 but other attys met in chambers w/HHBP and they all came out - DT started packing their bags . . . SA sat watching what was happening.

5) HHBP clearly knew something that was not disclosed today along w/CM. I do not know that anyone else was made privy to court not continuing this afternoon.

6) Speculating as to why court was recessed until tomorrow morning (not sure where):
a) DT filing an appeal
b) KC fired JB
c) someone is sick or injured
d) . . . .

if he had some sort of family emergency etc I highly doubt the judge would hold that against him... kinda counterproductive imhoo

ITA that you can definitely see her saying "do it". But do what? All this legal posturing about whether or not the jury selection process has been fair is ok - but does it really involve ICA? By that, I mean she is not an attorney and while they might explain it to her - they are in control. JB is certainly not going to ask ICA if he needs to file a motion.

So what is she telling JB "to do"?

I do not have a good feeling about this...JBP looked like he was upset.

If Baez was ill JBP would be, IMO, sympathetic...whatever is going on, seems to me, has upset the Judge.

LOL that makes perfect sense to me - he has to have his "AHA" moment he's been talking about for three years on every media outlet who would let him and he knows his back is against the wall and he's got "squat".

Whatever is happening - he's still got squat.

I totally agree. These days it seems the accused of crimes are given more rights than everyone else. It's not right IMO. :twocents:

It's all a game to her. She knows once a jury is seated and the trial starts, her days in front of the camera are numbered and she doesn't like that.
