Back in the day, my mother was a Weeki Wachee Mermaid. :rocker:
Oh how cool!!! I remember them. I knew a young couple that was on the water ski team there. Yep - there are a lot of things I remember of old Florida that are long gone. That's the one thing that bothers me about South Florida - nobody here seems to be too much into preserving history. I mean they do - but not to the extent they should.

I had a house not far from me that had been a "trading stop" for the Seminoles when they came down the river. I really wanted them to preserve that house - but nope - torn it down and built condos!!!!!

Yes, I just got here. Please do tell! I need me an update! Are we still at 11?

No, we have the 12, plus 2 in waiting (male teacher and retired lady who adopted her kids). Male teacher, per His Honor, will take the first strike's place. Defense has 1 left, SA 3. I don't think SA will exercise theirs, but I could be wrong. There are 4 instructed jurors in waiting (I think? Could be 3). Then we have 30 of a new pool who have not been read the indictment nor instructed, and with the media coverage there....well...good luck with them. :)

Plan is to swear the jury tomorrow afternoon and leave for Orlando on Sunday. Opening statements are slated for Monday morning.

They just showed the clip where the woman juror was crying about the tape found on Caylee and KC has no reaction as they panned in on her. It infuriates me . I am a very peaceful person but I want to jump through the screen and hurt KC. Hope she realizes how much people dislike her(don"t like the word hate or I might use it). People like her, I just don't understand what makes them tick or so sick.

Where are you watching that?

While she's become inured to jail life and court life, it does seem that the Pinellas Bailiffs are pretty strict (shout out WOOT!), and she's also warmed to being an active part of her team - she's not getting that she's (going) on trial her, yet. It's going to get more and more interesting...

I was kind of wondering if that is part of where her pissy attitude was coming from at the start of jury selection. At the end of the day all her attorneys go home to their family, friends and lives - she goes back to a cold, stark cell, now for someone so damn entitled as ICA that's gotta smart!

I think with ICA getting sick we are really going to see the "devil" come out. Actually, I'm looking forward to it.

You shall remain nap-less for the next 6 weeks. Please? ;)

They are bringing in 30 "leftover" jurors this afternoon (the other judges finished their cases and these folks were in their pool I think). They will read all of them the indictment, ICA will cry because <self-modsnip>, and then CJBP will ask all of them if they have any hardship that would prevent them from serving. In his words, once those hands go up, it will be "like a virus on a plane." :giggle: They will dismiss the hardship cases and whoever is left will be put into the rotation. We still have 5 left from the original pools to get through, too.

CJBP asked that the 11 be allowed to go home and start packing, and that they be told to appear tomorrow at 230 for swearing-in. They should be ready for transport to Orlando Sunday.

Does KC get to have cold medicine if she's sick? I hope we don't have to witness the untouched version! yuk

Morning to all my fellow WSers! :seeya:

Just getting on now to check what is going on...have to leave shortly for another dental appointment. Grrrrr.

Did JB explain why he was gone yesterday yet?

If some kind soul could just briefly recap where we are now!!! I won't have time to read back until tonight and am dying here wanting to know what is happening!

I notice a lot of people from Ohio move to FL!

And half of Maine lives there half of the year, for the weather and for the property taxes (which are beastly in ME).

Holy cow folks I am getting all emotional here. I can't believe it. It's finally here. Justice for sweet Caylee is upon us!!! May the Lord grant strength and wisdom to the 12 jurors who will hear this case.

Group hug everyone! We made it!! After three long frustrating years!!! Fist pump!!!

Thank you! I love this picture! :tyou:

I love it when someone did the whole set. That one, the one with his head in his hands and another one, forget what it was - makes me laugh all the time. Poor Jeff :) It must be hard to be around someone that <modsnip> lol

Parisians feel superior and are abrupt to everyone, even their own countrymen . Try another area of France if there's a next time...

That's what others have told me, I've been told that Southern France is very, very nice and very "American friendly" .. but, after what I experienced in Paris, I vowed to myself that until I've seen everything there is to see/do in the U.S., I'm not spending another dime on a foreign country that doesn't appreciate it! Here in Tampa, we get many, many foreign visitors, I appreciate them all...they keep our economy moving even in the worst of times! I'm generally the one that actually talks to visitors from other places and warn them of the "tourist trap" areas, and where they really need to go around the beaches (my favorite place...) for a good time and at a reasonable cost! In Paris, we had taxi drivers literally taking us for a ride, waiters that refused to wait on us, lousy food, etc. - I would NEVER treat a visitor the way we were treated...EVER!

Thank you so much! Who is the twelfth?
I think HHJP wants to swear them in and sequester them quickly to avoid trouble.

Also, what's up with a PJ crying? Was that today? And how is casey acting today? Any clips I can watch? TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!

My guess ICA will be sick after lunch today. And why oh why are we calling another panel of 30 in. He needs to do what he said he was going to do and swear em' in already. Stop letting the DT dictate how this is going to go.

Isn't he just weeding out the hardships so he knows how many will be left if he needs them? I understood him to say right after that he will see the six waiting and do them this afternoon?
