I get so mad when I look at ICA sitting at the table there up close laughing and smiling after I envision what she did to her daughter. I just seethe. She needs to be convicted and put to death. She has no right to be on this earth. She makes my blood boil. She is pure evil.

I think the State ask's these questions because of the wording of the question on the questionnaire.

It would depend on how the question is asked.

IE: Have you ever been arrested? (If the pj says no and they (SA) find something - then you have been dishonest regardless of what it is.

If is just says - "Have you ever been convicted or plead nolo contendre in a court?"

Am I making any sense? The was it is asked could help or hurt either side with getting a pj excused for cause (dishonest on the questionnaire).

What gets me is when people say she is crying and I am watching her and I don't see it.

ITA!! her wiping her eyes is like a nervous tick - it doesn't mean she's crying! All I see is ICA laughing, rolling her eyes, making jokes and chit chatting. There are no real tears. And even of there were, they're for herself NOT her daughter.

On the same note, it drives me CRAZY when she cries in front of the jury when HHBP reads the charges. Then as the jurors come in one by one she hears things like "baby was missing", "the baby's body", "smell of death", "her baby was murdered", "duct tape over the baby's mouth" and she sits stone faced with out the slightest tinge of emotion. I have NO ties to this case and I'm sitting at home tearing up!

I think this guy is bad for the state BECAUSE he works with kids that were like ICA in high school. He will have empathy for her. I think the State should get rid of him. I don't think he is so impartial.

He could also be fed up with them too, being with them day in and day out and the troubled students disobeying and being disrespectful of his class and what he's teaching.

Hi, while we are waiting could someone give me a definition of a "stealth juror"? I see the term used occasionally and to most here it is probably elementary but I'm wondering how that could happen. Will probably look it up but if someone would like to step in here a minute and give me a basic working definition I would appreciate it. TIA

I can understand those that feel he is arrogant. I talk to very educated people all day long because of my particular job and the kind of clients we have. There are those like this guy who are highly educated, secure in themselves, and speak very precisely. They know what they know, and that's what they know. I think sometimes they are just so smart that they don't realize their tenor might be off putting. However, I give this guy a go because of his involvement with academically challenged kids. In my experience the truly arrogant intelligencia don't demean themselves with that kind of job, they are too good for it. Of course this is all MOO and YMMV.

I consider myself of higher intellect and I can tell you that just because one is "highly" educated doesn't mean anything d/t I know several people with IQ's over 160 and don't have the common sense to come in from the rain. My personal opinion (scary) is it boils down to social inadequacy and lack of common sense! :crazy:

I see him as something of a fulcrum - the point of balance. I didn't get too hinked out by him. Again DH teaches at risk kids - this guy sounded spot on. I can't imagine a government teacher that wouldn't be excited. It's like asking a lit teacher if he/she'd like to study WITH Shakespeare or Faulkner

So the guy they just had, won't be a foreman candidate. He's 5th alternate right now, with 4 strikes total before swearing in. So, at best he'd be Alternate #1. Of course both sides receive extra strikes based on the number of alternates HHJP chooses, so, who knows where that guy ends up. I agree with PP's, though, he'd be an interesting juror, for sure.

17 minus 4 strikes (if all are used) is 13... so he, if all strikes are used, is the first alternate... and the state or defense could also use one of their alternate strikes on him as well
