I think the judge has to look up law on how he can control the gallery, possible mistrial?

A mistrial has to be a lot harder to get than that or people with friends would never be convicted. Just like a pj doesn't have to have never heard anything about a case, only be able to put aside and render an impartial verdict... IMO anyway, but I'm not an attorney.

This situation will be a good discussion for the lawyers only Q&A thread. I believe sometime back there was discussion on potential outbursts by the Anthony's, and if the trial/jurors would be "tainted" it that happened. Might be timely to resurrect that discussion today for one who is inclined to make a good question to post on that thread today.

I wouldn't think mistrial during jury selection with 1 juror in the room. But if this happened while all the jurors and alternates were seated then yes, JB could def file for a mistrial.

I'm not a lawyer, so no doubt I could be wrong.
