We don't know that it was spanking. It was testified that it was hitting as a child that Tony thought was in a disciplinary capacity. That could be anything from a slap across the face to slapping her hand to spanking. We just don't know what type of hitting it was.

I have a strong feeling that Casey and Lee were NEVER EVER spanked by George or Cindy.
I do not think Cindy would have ever allowed it. I just get that feeling.

My FIL is a very aggressive man but my MIL NEVER EVER let him touch the children...EVER...and that's in the days when spanking was, I would say, an accepted form of discipline.
Throwing the shoe of course was the right of every Italian mother....LOL

Yep it was Lee. It seems George got promoted whilst ICA was in jail. He emerged as a fuzzy memory, where she would feel sore and sick to her stomach. But no specifics, certainly not the graphic detail she would supposedly later tell her attorney and presumably the two doctors since removed from the witness list. (guilt phase) I see Baez' case crumbling and he hasn't even started yet.

I have a question for all the legal eagles out there. Is it normal to keep calling GA back to the stand?? I don't have much court experience, all I know is from movies & TV and of course, WS. It just seems odd to me. TIA.

They're trying to make this about George and take the attention off Casey.

Speaking of Susan Smith and the similarities in the case (and defense), I WISH the prosecution would ask TL about the conversation where he instructed ICA that if he had kids, he wanted boys and did not want girl children.
THAT needs to be heard by the jury.

Exactly - I posted in the trial thread that I'm surprised at how much the SA is NOT asking these witnesses about. There's so much more evidence that adds damning layers to this whole story. I'm afraid the SA think that they are keeping it simple by not going down all the roads & twists and turns but I hope that they aren't oversimplifying it and in the process whitewashing Casey a little.

This is so ridiculous that I am disgusted. How can Baez, in good conscience, do this to ICA's parents, and still sleep at night! If he hasn't figured her for a serial liar, then he is mentally handicapped.

Everyone who got smacked on the fanny by their Dad, or switched on the legs by their Mom, raise your hands! (My mom used to make me go out and get the switch!)

And, everyone who "played doctor" with siblings when young, raise your hands!

How many of you were so scarred by these experiences that you went on to murder your first born?

Is this the best Baez can do? He should be disbarred, in my humble opinion.

I'm not 100% sure without re-watching the end of today but I did watch ICA closely while she was talking to JB. It looked as though JB was trying to tell her no big deal and ICA said something close to this "You said this would work, now what."

JB's body language was not his normal way with ICA it was like he was trying to explain and she didn't want any part of it and let him have it.

Also it did look like she looked over to where CA and GA was with a pleading look, not made but a I'm sorry look and help me look.

CA look during TL proffer was "Oh how could you ICA". I think CA is done, still loves her but sees the writing on the wall. It's over, they all knew it at the end of the hearing today. MOO

My sister may or may not be an abuse survivor (you'll see why I say may or may not in a second) and she lies about EVERYTHING....big things, little things, totally insignificant things and the big stuff. She embellishes, she twists, she adds, she omits. Every sentence out of her mouth has a lie in it some way. Including things that don't matter - like she ran to the store for milk and bumped in to someone she hasn't seen in a long time and it took an extra 10 mins...she'd have to tell you there was a car accident on the way home instead of just saying she ran in to someone from back in the day. My whole life she has accused my brother of raping her. And I have no way of knowing if it is true. He knows some of her allegations and still sits in the same room as her....and at the same time, she still sits in the same room as him. I'll never know the truth. I just have to live MY truth with the two of them.

anyway - she lies just like Casey.

I am so sorry to hear that.

But as far as ICA goes there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that her statements and claims are nothing more than lies, and more lies! From my own experiences and spending much time in therapy and SA groups she has none of the hall marks etc. ICA is simply a sociopath and pathological liar.

Good grief -- how can I get away from Vinnie Politan??? He's on whatever channel I turn to saying the most idiotic things! He just said Tony's testimony that Casey never said George sexually molested her bolsters the defense story. Every insight he has is the opposite of what makes sense. Where are the sane commentators? i need to tune in there.

BBM...I tend to agree with you. Maybe a few "PATS" here and there but nothing extensive. ICA's whole "untouchable" attitude, compulsive lying, and spoiled demeanor gives more of the impression of someone who has never really had to answer to her wrong doings, and has got away with things her whole life....and quite frankly...not PUNISHED enough.

I would love for the Prosecution to produce a guy and say Miss Anthony do you remember so and so and have it be the babys daddy.. i do not understand why the state does not want this testimony at this point.

what the jurors have heard is that ICA shared a SECRET with TL.

and the implication was clear, the srcret was going to be "BAD DADDY"

Since its IS NOT, the SA should WANT the testimony in. What am I missing?

The defense were the ones doing the profer on Tony. They were grasping at straws based on their telephone conversation with him and were hoping he would testify to the fact that ICA told him George sexually abused him. He never said that. They are interpreting his deposition the way they wanted to hear it. Abuse was mentioned and they ran with it, when he meant physical abuse, not sexual. He said it definitely was not sexual, which means he cannot testify to it under the profer rules regarding heresay. The SA would want it, but they are not the ones pressing the issue. In all honesty I don't think they are truly worried about the SA accusation. It does not effect their case and the end result that ICA murdered her daughter.

Has anyone put a timeline together for June 13th thru June 20th now that we a little more clarified information?
