I was thinking that to teh but if freaked out.....would someone really wrap it around THREE times....sounds more like out of anger to me......let alone put a heartshape sticker on?

IDK, it's really hard to try and reason it out because well, it's hideous. But I can see being freaked out and doing something over and over.....but at the same time I guess anger could do it too. The heart is what makes me think it was a freak out. I don't see anger putting a heart on her, but then again, it is ICA we are talking about.

How soon after death? You have to figure rigor mortis would have set it, and to close her mouth she would have more than likely broken her jaw (mandible) and it was found completely intact.

I honestly believe the duct tape is the cause of death. Why put it over her mouth & nose three times unless your intent was to suffocate her?

http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/biology/b103/f02/web2/wcarroll.html

"Soon after the time of death, a body becomes rigid. This stiffening is the result of a biochemical process called Rigor Mortis, Latin for "stiffness of death". (1) This condition is common to all deceased humans, but is only a temporary state."

"Within hours of the time of death, every muscle in the body contracts and remains contracted for a period of time."

"Muscle contraction begins in the brain with a nerve impulse sent down the spinal cord to a motor neuron."

"Rigor mortis usually sets in within four hours, first in the face and generally smaller muscles."

We can't figure it out because we don't think like a person who just killed her kid.

Who is at the table to the (screen) left of the SA's?

I'm thinking the heart sticker was either an item used to calm Caylee down when she was being restrained by ICA (if this was done on a regular basis.) OR it was done after ICA realized CAylee was dead and may actually show some remorse.

I could swear when they were leaving before lunch she said something to the effect of "when they talk about decomp you need to...." then she turned her head. What a joke they have made of this horrific tragedy. Shameful.

Well...we shall see if she cries on cue. :giggle:

Rigor can set in and leave very quickly in a small child. There are so many variables on this that's why I can't wait to hear Dr. G testify.

Maybe Caylee was having a tantrum, like two year olds often do, and kc wanted to silenced her and did it out of anger.

I have thought that since the beginning. ICA lost it after the fight with CA. Caylee just being a typical two year old went into a tantrum and ICA lost her temper. I know this thought goes against the prosecutions theory, but it's what I've felt happened all along.

Did she just say to ICA "when they talk about a dead body, you need to feel that? (placing hand on chest)"

Wouldn't surprise me - she doesn't seem to know it on her own.

How would you explain chloroform, neck-breaking searches?

Makes me sick the DT is coaching her so that she actually shows some EMOTION and tells her to do this, act this way, etc.

I know this is what the DT does, but it still makes me sick. Wait till the jury hears the audio of the 911 calls and the vid/ audio of her at jail visitation.

Since sidebars are a part of the record, will we ever be able to read the entire court transcripts and see what the heck they were talking about ??

I have to leave to go get xrays. Carry on!!

Because her mandible was still in tact as if she were alive. If you've ever seen a person die, their mouth drops open almost immediately.

Not neccessarily true...... I have been a Paramedic for over 25 years and have seen many deaths....not all of them die with their mouths open, many die with their mouths closed. Just as with the eyes some are open upon death and some are closed, I would often place tape over the eyes during CPR to keep the eyes shut and also to keep them moist.

But let's say Caylee was found with her mouth open and fluids were leaking out it, I can see the logic behind try to tape it shut.....but that is JMO....

Opening up after court.

I think the point is when someone dies the muscles totally relax and the back of the jaw drops out of the hinge position. You can close the front of the mouth but the back of the jaw is still dropped out of the hinge.
That is very interesting. I wonder if she found the mandible still hinged. It was stated to be in it's anatomical position, slightly posterior.

I guess it is foolish to ask if IS would broadcast the trial tomorrow?

For everyone who has been able to follow most of the day...was it a good day or a bad day? TIA

I can't wait until the jury hears KC's call home, where she only wants Tony's number and is dismissive about Caylee.

That alone will crush the DT's theory.

RR,
Hey friend! I think it was a very good day! :twocents:

Re: ICA smiling at a juror and making eye contact, I was trying to make the following comment before the trial thread slammed my butt:

I imagine the juror finds it creepy also - this is a woman who has accused her father of being a pedophile and disposing of her dead child without calling 911. How'd you like someone who is charged with murdering her child and leveled those accusations at her father smiling at you across a courtroom?
