2011.05.28 - KC upset during break when CA testifies

I never thought I would be saying this, because I have disliked Cindy with such intensity I was truly ashamed of myself. I still don't trust her, but.....I've been thinking about Casey and sociopaths in general. I have had one that I know of in my life. I'm really starting to wonder if there are really 'people' born without a soul or conscience. I won't go into the spiritual aspects of this, but I'm wondering if, no matter how good an upbringing they get, it doesn't make any difference.

Oh my yes. Lots. (Sorry, it's horrible, I know.)

I think this is true. There have been examples in the past of very young children with absolutely no empathy for other people or for animals, regardless of how others around them behave, so it (the sociopathy) may not be a learned behavior.

The only reason ICA had any power was because Cindy knew if KC left the home Caylee would not be taken care of properly. I am sure anytime George or Cindy gave her any trouble or questioned her to closely ICA would threaten to leave home with Caylee.IMO that is why Cindy catered to ICA.

She reminds me of a friend of mine that "had" a daughter she lost custody of after all the antics of "bipolar" syndrome. She used her baby as a tool and they took custody and gave it to the grandparents on the father's side. At least HER baby had a chance to live her life. Caylee didn't have that choice.

I believe there are monsters born in the world to human parents. Some you can see, misshapen and horrible, with huge heads or tiny bodies. . . . And just as there are physical monsters, can there not be mental or psychic monsters born? The face and body may be perfect, but if a twisted gene or a malformed egg can produce physical monsters, may not the same process produce a malformed soul? John Steinbeck, East of Eden

I just had an AWFUL thought..Cindy will most likely hear about what ICA pulled..She may even watch the video..I'm AFRAID she will feel very GUILTY about it..Then what? My guess is we won't see the 'same' Cindy we saw today..That will truly stink if it happens :(

eta..This is probably the whole purpose behind it.

I was thinking the same thing. I am a still recovering co-dependent (over 5 years recovering with therapist help) from an ex. In the beginning I wavered back and forth to her side about 6 months if I remember right. To CA it's like only 6 weeks so I do fear she can waver.... hopefully it won't happen as the trial continues. The ex is a borderline case if you were wondering. I just won't divulge more out of respect for privacy.

Wouldn't the jury have been present at that time of the fit throwing because they were listening to Cindy's testimony and once she stepped down the fit throwing happened only moments later.

something about going too far and something about she wouldn't/couldn't even look at me

i dunno

OK, I just this minute got home and have been out of pocket since 9 this morning. I've got to watch the videos and catch up reading here, but I have to say that ICA has some freakin' nerve! For three damn years she hasn't even bothered to look in her parents' direction when they came for each and every hearing, pleading for just one single glance from her. And all the while selling their very souls to the devil to protect their evil spawn. Unbelieveable!

Off to read and watch. See ya when I get to the other end of the tunnel.

Is Elizabeth the DT member who came over and whispered in ICA's ear and put her hand on her shoulder? What is her last name again? Thank you for reminding me.

Just wait till the tattoo testimony comes in. I LOVE that Casey put how she was feeling into words, permanently, right there on her body!

The jury was excused before CA stepped down.

Oh goodnesss gracious. Something just came to me. Many of us thought Casey was planning on offing the parents (hence the searches on "household weapons" "neck breaking" etc.) while she was telling her friends her parents were getting a divorce and she would be getting the house.

A very logical conclusion by many even Judge Perry! I know he said the other day "why didn't she just kill her parents then"? but can't recall what made him say it..Anyone know? TIA!

Not to excuse Casey AT ALL, but today this made me think that maybe just maybe, they were terrible parents to Casey(violence, molestation, who knows what else) and that is what made her a nut job. Especially when someone posted CA's myspace quote where she says something about giving caylee a "safe" place to live. Was it unsafe for Casey when she was younger? That makes even more sense about ICA jealousy and hatred for her daughter. This also is a common theme in many killers lives. Shi**y parents, then they have a child or grandchild later in life that they try to do right by because they know they ruined their other childrens lives and this makes the other children NUTS and want to harm and kill the sibling or person loved by the parents.

Respectfully BBM...

To be fair there are many killers that have not been abused. A narcissist believes they are entitled to what they want, when they want it, regardless of whom is harmed in the process. If you have outlived your usefulness to a narcissist you are dropped like yesterday's news. IMHO

I think abusive childhoods are often manipulated by killers as a means to excuse their behaviour and thereby shift blame elsewhere. However, the great majority of abuse survivors (and even more folks that come from a dysfunctional home) never so much as hurt another soul let alone murder.

Caylee was a pawn to Casey. She could use Caylee as a weapon against her family. She could take Caylee out like a little doll and show all her friends what a phenomenal mom she was (when it suited her). But I think Casey became bored and burdened by parenthood and when she wanted freedom and independence Caylee paid the ultimate price. Narcissitic rage occurs when a perceived slight to the ego is struck - only my opinion but I believe we saw this today when Cindy refused to look at ICA. Furthermore, I think it is what actually precipitated Caylee's murder - maybe Caylee cried and asked for Cindy? Only ICA will ever know for certain.

I think the reason the Caylee pic was left up so long was so that Cindy would remember who deserves justice. When she sees ICA's tears, maybe she will remember all the times sobbing was appropriate, but Casey either fake cried or didn't cry at all.

HLN is re-running Cindy's testimony now. They show a very flattering photo of Cindy for their lead-in's. What a difference a day makes, huh? I am glad that Cindy is getting kudos for finally doing the right thing. Good on her.

He was referring to the text messages between KC and TL. SA said that KC thought Caylee tied her down.

With all due respect that is exactly my point. How did she become those things? Sometimes parents feel guilty and let the child run rampant and get away with murder, this time is was literally murder. I don't believe people are born sociopaths or spoiled brats. So how did she become such a murderous lunatic?

Anyway, I'd still convict her because she is a grown woman, but these things don't just happen in a vacuum.

There are some sociopaths that are born it has nothing to do with parents or abuse.Being a spoiled brat does not make a killer, I was a spoiled brat and I spoiled my kids. What ever happened to being responsible for our own actions?

ITA....

KC has enjoyed manipulating men for years. If abuse....why not confide in a girlfriend?

Jeff Ashton WILL NOT be fooled and it will frustrate KC to no end that she can not manipulate him like she has the others.

ICA has no true, real female friends. She has many female "acquaintances." Female sociopaths and narcissists feel other females are competition (especailly for male attention) and typically don't form long-lasting relationships with other females, from what I've read.

IMO - from watching the body language of ICA, I see her being dismissive or even denigrating toward Ms. Fryer. On the clip shown several times on NG yesterday, of ICA talking to whom I believe is Ms. Fryer and grabbing a water bottle from her, ICA appeared quite rude to her. I also see ICA being rude to Ms. Fryer in this clip we are reviewing at present.
