ICA used several "endearing terms" in the phone call from jail to coax and manipulate both her mom and Christine to give up TL's #:

ICA calls her mom: "honey" and "sweety"

ICA calls Christine: "baby"

ICA knew she wasn't getting what she wanted with the swearing, so she used honey instead.

That's what manipulators do.

I left the house for a while this morning right after I heard the motion hearing. I haven't had a chance to catch up on the trial thread or this one but wanted to make a comment about Casey's shirt. Someone upthread said that it was ugly, and that's OK, but I have three of these long-sleeve tees that I believe are Victoria's Secret. Mine are olive, plum, and red; they look fabulous with jeans. BTW, I'm 61 and love VS!

Lord have mercy, I thought poor Cindy was going to vomit while on the stand. It is so heart-wrenching to see her like this. She still says a few things that seem "iffy", like when she says she thought it odd that Amy knew exactly where Tony's apt. was. Why would that be odd, and why does that even need to be said? It's almost like cindy is still trying to implicate Amy... I dunno... maybe I'm wrong . Then, there was also the drier sheet thing. Bill Shaefer (sp?), himself, almost started crying when he was describing how emotional Cindy was on the stand. I've been crying like a baby, myself. Casey makes me SICK. That phone call that was played just made me SO angry...grrr... ok, I'll shut up now.

I am sure she hates Amy for pressing charges. That bothered me she said that.

Wow...that trumped opening statement from the defense, and then some...

I was hoping that call would have been played on Friday before the long weekend so the jurors could think about it all weekend but it was just as riveting today...

for Cindy's sake I hope a guilty plea is what she signed

I don't think Casey could ever take responsibility for anything, and will fight this to the end. JMO, but I really believe she is enjoying the pain her mom feels. I think she enjoys it because it is payback for the jealousy she felt towards Caylee. It almost seems she wants to crack a grin when her mother breaks down.

I agree. B/c it does not square with the DT theory. She was in jail, she would have been safe and free to tell LE what "really happened". Not swear and rage at three people who were trying to help her. Kristina, at least, could have been told the "truth" of what George "did".

That's from an angle of the evidence. Never mind what that call paints her to be for the jury. A stone cold, sociopathic monster. IMO

BBM. I completely agree with you. I have been saying this same thing to my family when we are talking about this trial.

OMG... I don't even drink..but feel like I need one. What a roller coaster of emotions today... I swear my pulse is still elevated

I think the jailhouse phone call could be put into the DSM-IV as a textbook example of an unintelligent sociopath sounds like.

I do NOT think I can handle the cross-examination this afternoon...my head will EXPLODE. May God grant each of you that do watch it the stamina to endure...I will read the comments later.

Can you imagine having to swallow that before lunch? And you know they cannot talk so all the will be able to do is shake their heads and stew.

Ummm, because he's my boyfriend!

These threads are flying so fast that I can't see if this has been mentioned...

but...

the tweets reporting that juror number 4 looked up and shook her head at ICA?

According to Discovery Investigation's juror profiles, juror number four is the AA juror that a lot of folks were worried about, since she said she couldn't stand in judgement of others.

Of course, that was before she met The Inmate.

Just sayin'

Want to revisit the tweet that said Juror 4 looked up at ICA and glared at her during the jailhouse call home. Juror 4 is 1319, the one we were all very concerned about. I think we can rest easier that the evidence as we know it will be exactly as damning to someone just hearing about all this, as it is to those of us who have been following along for years now.

Goooooo juror #4!

Well she said she can't judge based on what other people say. She doesn't have to! She heard it straight from the defendant!

*collapses in the sidebar area* Wow. Just WOW. Stone Cold Casey while her mother breaks down on the stand. The 911 calls. The first jailhouse call.

Remember that juror that we were worried about? She shook her head at the jailhouse call! Casey, you are DONE!!!! Your one hope just went out the window!

And I am feeling so much sympathy for Cindy. I just can't help it. I know how awful she was, but I think she was viewing things through different eyes then. I think now she is viewing things through different eyes, actually realizing that Casey did murder Caylee. I still don't like pre-trial Cindy, but as long as she tells the truth and doesn't cover for Casey anymore in court, that is fine with me. I just hope she's able to make it through this trial. I am now worried this trial might actually kill her.

I love that the court broke for lunch right after the jail house call finished. The jurors will really have that on their mind through their lunch. And that will build up even more sympathy for CA. So if JB or CM try to "beat up" CA during the cross, it really won't sit right with the jury.

yeah, they are kind words

but the tone was demanding, condescending and PUSHY,

not pleading or friendly

I'm on the West Coast so I slept through this morning's testimony and tuned in just to catch the phone call from jail. OMG intense. My heart is breaking for Cindy, I don't even know how she can do it. I consider myself a strong person and I'm not sure how I could sit up there listening to that without screaming at ICA and telling her exactly how I felt. :furious:
