Yes, breakdown. She said that this will be the first time she will have to face the reality of her lies. It is a finality and she can't make up another lie to get herself out of. I wish she would tell what really happened and maybe she will but will we believe it. I am not so sure I will. She probably sits every night trying to think of a new lie to explain it. jmo

I'm wondering WHY the DT wants George's medical records? Is this related to his alleged suicide attempt in January 2009? If so, is the DT going to try to claim that George's suicide attempt was a result of guilt because he participated in disposing of his granddaughter's remains?

There is a woman on Joy Behar Kathryn Smerling (psychologist) who says based on ICA's appearance and gestures and body language today that ICA is about to crack. I can't wait to see that. jmo

I noticed that as the day wore on, she really looked drained. I wonder if she had seen the videos before. At different points she had a totally blank expression, like she was totally zoned out.

Tell lots of lies, take people on wild goose chases and then call in like a Hospice person to explain how everyone has different reactions to grief:banghead:

Casey could be used as an example of how people don't grieve. I would love to know what the jurors are saying about her.

I really thought if Jose had anything to say after court today, it would be "we surrender."

I am sure he knows his "grief" person won't be allowed. I think in his own special way, he is trying to defend the indefensible. He knows (has to know) there is no defense, if there ever was one, after the playing of the tapes. She showed far too much affection, fake or otherwise, toward her parents and Lee to be their tortured victim.

Casey must have forced him to use that defense, IMO, as he had to know (please, JB, you do know some of this, don't you) that with the tapes of her lies and her behavior with her family, that the abuse would not fly.

I am seeing a desperate lawyer who wants to be anywhere but there. I think he makes objections, motions, etc. just to try to slow the momentum (not working) or to make the state do extra work, or even just to appear to be trying his best to defend her.

I am not JB's champion by any means, but someone had to defend her and I don't think anyone else would have anything more to work with than he does. Yes, he made his bed by taking on CA and getting close to her, etc...and he is clearly paying the price. But it won't matter in the long run. She will get convicted and he will say he tried his best. And maybe this is his best.

Any other attorney with balz in his pocket and three years to do so, would have led her to plea.

This particular client was not going to admit to anything substantial. After listening to the Universal tapes, I am more sure of that than ever.

I am reading the last few pages of the afternoon trial thread. Those who are saying that what Casey was doing while the tapes were playing, was to listen for anything she can use...

Diabolical. Cunning. She is.

That is what I think makes me feel the most ill as I watch Casey and Jose "at work", seeing them take what is normal and right, who is innocent and trusting and twist reality to fit their own agendas. To cover their lies.

And, that agenda for Casey is to get away with the murder of Caylee. As far as Jose's agenda...take your pick but it has to do with fame and fortune imho-maybe maybe it has to do with freeing Casey. But I am doubtful.

Scheming, planning, plotting...that is what the defense is all about. That is their energy. While the State presents the facts as they are: it is up to the jury. I think about them more and more. I think about how they wanted to work Memorial Day and how when asked they opted to finish out the evening tonight.

They were asked to put aside personal feelings and judge Casey on the evidence as it is presented to them and later to render a verdict using the law as the judge instructs them: I think about the evidence they have seen, heard. Then I think about what the law says about Casey Anthony and how someone's words that justice is blind struck me to realize that is true. Justice does not see all the extra "human" stuff we are seeing, she is not worried about opinion or controversy, media exposure or dirty underhanded tricks played on the audience. I have put my faith in lady justice.

PS: that doesn't mean I won't be mad about something in this case tomorrow. :winko:

Yes, I can see her maybe having a breakdown! She is now seeing into the future, her future, and it doesn't look too **** good either!
This will be the first time ever that she will have to face the consequences of something that she did.
But she still looks scarey, evil to me!hwow:

I don't think her expression changed during the whole thing. As someone said on NG...Scary. Her demeanor has definitely been different lately. A normal person could not sit there for 7 days and listen to all that has been said about her and watch herself hang herself. And that is exactly what she did through those tapes and interviews. jmo

I hope this jury sees her machinations as well. I also hope they see that all of her lies, all of them were self-serving. They have yet to hear about Lauren who stopped babysitting for free once she found out that Casey lied to her about working at Sports Authority. All of her lies seem to have either a $ sign or a FUN sign or a Vacancy sign. It was all about Casey having fun. Now it is all about Casey getting off.
