Yes, but if the question is: "Did Dr. Lee test the evidence?" That calls for hearsay because the act of Dr. Lee testing or examining evidence is a matter being asserted and it is being offered to prove that is actually happened. So here, it is hearsay.

Oh, wow! So that was the only, sneaky way for JB to get it before the jury that Dr. Lee tested evidence. But when he can't put Dr. Lee on the stand, that will make him look silly.
