I just got in and turned on the tv and found that court was in recess for the day. Can someone please fill me in really fast on why? I tried to find the trial thread for today and couldn't find it :( TIA :)

Waiting for the next witness who's got a flight scheduled tomorrow.

Bless you MissJames for having such a big heart and caring for these precious children.:blowkiss:

Been snuggling with my youngest little guy all day. I'm selfish, not selfless! The kids are awesome !

What do you mean by "unattended deaths"?

I agree with katydid, it is not relevant to consider traffic accidents or other accidental death scenarios in which the parents are not present to call 911, since Casey says she was there.

I don't understand this mix-up at all ?!?!
Because on the 911 call Casey very precisely states how many days she has been missing, and counting back it does not bring us back to the 9th June.

Casey Anthony: "My daughter has been missing for the last 31 days."

I think it all goes back to Cindy, her vacation days and where her head was at when she stated it. Cindy was in a panic.I don't think she was trying to deceive,at that point. She was basing date late seen around her vacation, when she and George went away and seeing her father. Just a mistake.
ICA just went along with it.

I would so love this case to be tied up with video of KC purchasing chemicals to make chloroform from Home Depot.

I would love this case to be tied up with video from TL's apt. complex parking lot (or whoever she was staying with during that time) showing her white pontiac sunbird parked with buzzards/vultures circling in the air above her trunk!

I hadn't seen that missing child poster until today on this thread. It raises some questions for me, because it's not the first reference to June 9th.

In one of the 911 calls CA made on July 15, she reported that she hadn't seen her granddaughter since June 9th.

KC also made reference to June 9th, until LA corrected her during one of the jail visitations (which we saw in the video) and then there was that whole cryptic conversation between KC and LA that followed where KC told her brother "I had some time to think about that..." (paraphrasing).

In 2008, Father's Day was Sunday June 15.

June 9, 2008 was a Monday.

I don't understand how those two dates could have been so messed up by not only 1, but 2 people directly involved in this case, especially when it concerns something as crucial as a beloved missing child.

And come to find out - the correct date wasn't even on the missing child poster??!!

BBM/Red-Lee said they were all separated and questioned by LE the night Cindy called 911. He said they could hear what was being said through the walls. He said Cindy got the date wrong, Casey heard Cindy then they all just used that date...or something like that.

IMO

Hit and runs are often not reported. Unattended deaths are sometimes hidden.

So 100 percent of accidents are not reported
Not all unreported deaths are murder.

BBM...Hit and runs, unreported are not accidents but are in fact a crime. If it is reported, well then it is not really a hit and run.

I am working and trying so very hard to catch up. Home Depot tape? Did this just surface and who is suppose to be on it?

She has been in Orlando for several days, she was listed as present in the jail last week. Their witness is unable change their schedule to travel today, whoever it was flies in at 11am tomorrow.
Knowing what we have seen on the SA team it will be a winner!

I think RA was brought to the OC jail as a defense witness, and is unrelated to the state's delay. I think the witness the state is waiting on is out-of-state witness and important to their case.

I did not see the basis of this discussion, but is someone suggesting that Caylee died by accident in another way other than drowning?

Let's clarify what Dr. G. said. It was not unattended deaths.

She stated that 100 percent of "accidental drownings" were reported. Mr. Baez didn't say it was an unattended death. He said it was an accidental drowning.

Is there any other reasonable and logical reason besides murder for her to drive around with her daughter's dead body in her trunk, then for her to double bag it and put it in a laundry bag, no less to add some duct tape into the mix, and then dump the body of her baby girl like nothing more that refuse? IMO, no other logical conclusion than murder 1.

Then you have the lying for three years about what happened to her....Zanny the Nanny, letting people and LE search for Caylee so long...nope. Murder one!

I appreciate any & all questions. I appreciate that my current stance is being challenged. I'm certain the same scenarios will play out when the jury retires to deliberate the evidence that has been presented during the trial proceedings.

In answer to the above quoted question: Fear of consequences and a belief that the ridiculous nanny story would be believed (as many here have stated - KC was never held accountable for her actions by her parents) may have led her to cover up a *possible* accidental death of her daughter. I base this opinion on what has actually been presented in court, since that is what the jury will be deliberating.

Personally, I'm disgusted by the fact that little Caylee was decomposing in the trunk of her mother's car. I'm disgusted by the fact that her remains were disposed of in the woods & dispersed by animals. I'm disgusted that KC went about her merry way and lied to anyone & everyone.

The State has had the opportunity to present their side. I'm looking forward to tomorrow to see how they wrap up their CIC.

Since Dr. Drew has taken an active interest in Caylee's story, I'm thinking of asking him to host a post trial rehab session for those of us who will be going through withdrawal.
With all the bad things that happen in the world everyday, Caylee and her wacky (sorry Caylee) family have grabbed peoples' attention like no other.

I will sign up. I'm a compulsive eater too : )

I'm not kidding.Call him.

Oh,we may also need help with our relationships with each other, since not all of us are on the same page all the time :crazy:and it shows :blushing1:

of the 31days..I "hate" how she could just rattle that number off. I would be counting on my fingers and toes trying to figure it out...she had been counting the days since she took away her daughter's life

JB's circus act of an opening statement is not in evidence. The jury is to look at the evidence. Let's see if JB can get something in "evidence" of his theory.

I did not see the basis of this discussion, but is someone suggesting that Caylee died by accident in another way other than drowning?

No, the train of thought started from the medical examiner's testimony who said that 100 % of all children's drowning accidents her office has come across get reported to 911 unless there is a reason not to, and it got a bit twisted as if she'd said that 100 % of all accidents get reported which is of course not true.

After watching this morning's portion, here are my thoughts, FWIW:

  • The female witness was amazing! She spoke clearly, used a great analogy w/the band-aid, and appeared to me to be very thorough and credible. I agree w/others' assessments that if she had deviated from the protocols, then all the subsequent testing (steps 3-30000000, according to JB heh) could potentially be considered "invalid" or somehow hampered by the taking of the photograph/stepping away from protocol.
  • The male witness from the morning reminded me (in an endearing sort of way) of a whole ton of farm boys I grew up with. I found him to be like Forgey--someone who might live down the street--a "real, normal" type person (did you notice he has dimples?). Same with the female witness--relatable. Someone mentioned she sounded like a Kindergarten teacher, and as a preschool teacher, I can say I did recognize that vocal cadence and headmovement/eye-contact to be similar to what I use to talk to my students. But I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing at all here. I mean, IMO, if there were some sort of test as to "repeat these witness testimonies in your own words," that a lot of people would be able to more accurately explain her testimony than that of some of the other expert witnesses. IMO:)
  • JB's whole "how many steps was that, now?" shtick backfired (as usual), IMO. Was he trying to indicate that they "over-processed" or "over-examined" this evidence? Like, they did their job TOO well??? Because all it told me is that they were incredibly, INCREDIBLY, thorough examining the evidence, which gives THEM, the EXPERT scientist (chemist!) credibility, not you, JB!!!!!!!!! He's done this so many times!! What an unusual person! I rolled my eyes so many times this morning that I have some weird eye-strain headache in addition to the usual one induced by this unusual defense team. (Oh, finally his last question--so after all those steps no fingerprints--is that what you were driving at that whole entire time, JB? Really? Oh I am sitting on my hands!!! :maddening: )
  • I wish the jury had been able to see the "heart on band-aid" image from ICA's photobucket (yes?), and all those freaking heart stickers from the house, and even that one pic of Caylee where she added the heart in the corner.
  • I'm glad JB doesn't know when to stop.
  • (aside: My poor, long-suffering (ha!) DH is so sick of hearing about this case! But he's out of town today until sometime tomorrow. So I got my West-coast booty out of bed at ~9am my time, and was SO excited to get to watch some live testimony using both the computer and TV at the same time! But by the time I got out of the shower, cats fed, etc., they were just recessing for the day?!?!?!? ACK! and worse, no more until tomorrow afternoon? I was so hoping to get some very vocal yelling and gesturing at the screen(s) out of my system today so I could go back to my headphone-wearing semi-quiet watching day after tomorrow! Whine! I'm a :loser: it's true:)
  • I'm okay with the PP not getting in as it spares us and the jury from the excruciating experience of JB going through each and every photo.
  • I can't wait to hear how the SA wraps this up! And on which day!!!
  • I'm looking forward to and also dreading the DT's presentation.

I have 3 issues, hope someone can clarify for me...

first....is there really a home depot video or is that pure wishful thinking or speculation on our part?

second...the SA couldn't call any other witnesses today and/or tomorrow morning like the tattoo artist? is this witness they're waiting on their last witness?

third....was the diary of days ever entered into evidence? The blog entry or note or whatever that ICA allegedly wrote that says something like "trust no one, only yourself, everyone lies, everyone dies" etc?

What do you mean by "unattended deaths"?

Not answering for the OP - but I saw a death on Hoarders, Buried Alive (literally), that this poor woman was dead underneath a pile of garbage (or trash) while the daughter went on about her life until she died. I'm like wah, huh? Who does that!

The mother was only found after the daughter died and a relative was cleaning out the house. Now that's what I'd call an unattended death!

Oh, I found it -

Mummified remains in hoarder's home could be mom
