K......Morning and question. I know that prolly' it was one juror who sent a note asking about the heart. But yesterday I saw a couple of tweets about 2 jurors whispering to each other............see where I'm going and someone slap me and tell me to quit worrying.

I think that is deliberate on Mason's part - he is extremely dismissive with witnesses and wants the jury to see that he does not believe a word they are saying. I have seen him do this before at trial. It didn't work then and I don't think it is going to go over well with this jury either. Even if you detest someone and think they are lying through their teeth, rudeness does not make you look good, it makes you look as bad or worse than the person you are being rude to.

Indeed. Especially when the witnesses come across as professional, knowledgeable, credible, and likable. Not a very smart strategy to belittle them. Wonder if Baez learned that trick from Mason.

I am so confused about why the SA couldn't just enter the cans yesterday and the DT could do their motion first thing Thursday? What was JA suggesting that CM said absolutely not (so rudely)?

Ruh roh. SOTS is in Fl, right? She's not going to be happy!:floorlaugh:

Since what happens in court is ultimately the judge's responsibility, he will probably apologize to them for another short day. They have shown their willing to work weekends, holidays, whatever to move this along and judges try to hard to be good to their jurors. If the state rests and the DT does not start, they will probably know what the problem is.

Yes I just don't want them holding this against the State. They are not privy to the fact that the State wanted to do this tomorrow so as not to convenience them. I'm sure CM has his reasons, but it shouldn't be held against the State.

Deliberate without much effort, it is his natural disposition. He has a huge sense of his own importance IMO.
He gets infuriated with anyone who doesn't kowtow to him.
Legal Divo.

ZsaZsa: I have a friend who was a court clerk in a county where Mason tried a number of cases (Seminole County) and she has said he was always extremely polite and courteous with everyone outside the courtroom.

My husband had an opportunity to meet CM a couple of months ago and said he seemed to be a nice guy, funny, and the kind of person my husband said "he would hang out and have a beer with." Go figure!

Doesn't mean they are discussing the case. I don't see how a group of people can be sequestered for weeks and not speak to each other at all. How awful that would be. Far as I know, they are permitted to speak about anything but the case.

She doesn't want any delays, probably a member here :D

I'm wishy washy on the cans being opened. If I were a juror, I think I might actually be furious if the state subjected me to the stench that came from this precious child's decomposing body. That's an incredibly traumatic thing, imo.

I agree. It would be way over the line of duty to require the jurors to smell the stinky cans. We wouldn't make jurors experience being say tasered as an example so why subject them to smelling human decomposition.

JA was saying he was concerned for the jury. He didn't want them to have to come in for only a few minutes to enter the cans. He said he could do it Thursday morning instead of today. CM was very rude at the idea, and said something to the effect of, "The state has to rest or not rest. I'm not saying anything until they do!" So JA simply said, "Fine, I'll do in in the morning."

There is NO way I'm going to sit through hours of arguments about that today. I'm already dreading having to hear the DT present their case. Not because I'm not interesting in what they have to say, I am, but Baez is so long winded, and wanders so much, that it's like watching a foreign movie without benefit of subtitles to me.

I think you, mock juror, are NOT ALLOWED anyway?! :floorlaugh:

Can anyone give us a two or three-sentence explainer of what happened yesterday and why the short session today? And why would jurors be angry? Thanks from those of us who missed it!

I feel bad for JA and his cough, as I'm the same way. I usually have a lingering cough that lasts from December through March. :banghead:

You put the inmate in,
You put the inmate out,
You put the inmate in
????

She came in, and then left again?
