I don't think anyone can seriously take into account this witnesses little science project. Give me a break!!

Nebraska in September is no comparison to Florida in June. No way. No how. These Florida jurors will understand that completely.

2nd, he allowed the pigs to decompose for 11 days in the trunk of that car. How can he make any kind of comparison to a child's body being left in the car for 3-5 days?

3rd, the pigs were not placed in any kind of trash bags or laundry bags. Of course it would make it easier for the bugs to get to the body that way. Of course the stain would be completely different.

If I remember correctly, there is an outline of a woman who died in a hospital (or somewhere??) and the outline left was a white-ish outline... not black. It was from the fatty acids (salt, I believe?). So there are stains that are not black when dealing with a decomposing body.

I just wanted to say "thank you" to everybody for keeping me up to date on the daily "MESS" from the trial! I've watched this trial everyday since it started but to be honest.... ever since the DT has started, my kids (14 & 11 ) have asked me many times to just catch up on the trial later because I seem to get in a very bad mood very fast when those men ( Baez & Mason ) are asking questions! SO, once again.... Here is a "THANK YOU" from my kids and I.... I hope everyone has a great and non stressful day.

CA was at some time a nursing student and had to take lab classes.

Water Insoluble Solutions
(e.g., solutions in hexane or chloroform) Rinse 2-3 times with ethanol or acetone, rinse 3-4 times with deionized water, then put the glassware away. In some situations other solvents need to be used for the initial rinse.

Gravewax and decomp stain would be water insoluble solutions.

oh please oh please let the SA ask about 12/11- I really want to see the reaction to that!

Interestingly enough, the stain left was the perfect outline of the Opossum... Was very spooky, and I actually thought about leaving it for about 1 min because it was so cool. Something like the Opossum version of the shoud of Turin.

Great! Can we get YOU called by the SA to testify to this??

Ditto! I just don't understand. The SA had 3 yrs to make this a perfect trial case. Why on earth did they leave so many things out? I just don't understand.I know they want her convicted just as much as we (most of us) do....... And to lose a case to an experienced person as JB will be embarassing and just sickening......

Keep the faith, people. The SA can present rebuttal witnesses to JB's witnesses, right? This is far from over. I can't imagine a team like JA, LDB, and FG not putting on the best case. Three years of motions and hearings have prepared them for JB and his defense.

Don't give up hope!

About the grave wax that can't be cleaned away per the DT expert and can by the pros.
Seems to me that all autopsy equipment including the autopsy table would have to be thrown out after each autopsy of an individual that hadn't died in hospital if that were the case. All gowns, scrubs worn, shoes would have to be tossed.
IMO grave wax can be removed by cleaning fluids designed to clean greasy stains on surfaces like the nylon carpet, that don't absorb fluids.
If not then the whole decomp cleaning industry is a complete scam.
The whole analogy about needing to replace the carpet in the car if ever you had a huge decomp stain was insane IMO. Who buys or drives a car that housed a dead body, stained or not but surely stinky?

Autopsy tables and equipment are made of non-porous material such as stainless steel, and personnel wear disposable gowns and shoecovers over their scrubs and shoes. But, I do agree that the average person would be more than happy to dispose of any and all porous material which came in contact with a dead body. MOO

That is very interesting. Makes you wonder if with the heat of the day and the heat from decomp if the bag somehow leaks fluid, some kind of osmosis or something.

gases/molecules + condensate = solution ????

seems feasible - but then you all know what I am not...

Stick with us for recap and analysis... all the way until 1:30p! by Gabe Travers/WESH.com http://www.wesh.com/casey-anthony-ex...teractive.html

Note: I was just listening in and George's 911 call has been released. Also, Mr. Vasco Thompson has just stated on WESH that he doesn't know why the defense has brought him into the Casey Anthony case because he didn't get his phone number until Feb 2009. It was not disclosed as to whom had that phone number prior.

Question

Since they have brought in the stain of the car can the SA bring in someone during the rebuttal to identify the outline of the stain?...basically showing a body in the fetal position?

Speaking of her being in the fetal position.... that does kind of lend hope that she WAS alseep from the chloroform, doesn't it? And hopefully unaware of being duct taped?

About Juror #4 not wanting to 'judge' people...
I trust HHJP has heard this almost a MILLION times in jury selection. I have worked with a number of women over the years who suddenly 'remember they're religious' when there's something they don't want to do. One co-worker refused to sign a 'write-up' at work, because "My only boss is God."

Juror #4 may have entered with a 'grudge,' b/c her ploy didn't work. But now after all she's seen, I really don't think she'll have any problem at all. I just don't think of a middle-aged woman, who lives alone and holds a job, as NOT having 'common sense.'

And why would she want to annoy HHJP by just hanging for hanging's sake? I just doubt it. JMO JMO JMO

That makes complete sense. "I cannot judge" was supposed to get her off of jury duty. SInce she's there now.........................

I think JA should open one of the "cans of death" and have this doctor stick his nose in it and then say there wasn't a body in that trunk. Who knows if ICA didn't vac out the bugs one of those days she was backing into the garage?

I think JA needs to show that this witness is a complete fool. That experiement he did has nothing to do with this case. He needs to remind the guy that hundreds of flies flew out when trunk was opened at tow yard. He didn't take into acct the body was triple bagged. Also, did this guy smell the car???

It's what kids do when they are scared .I'm sorry.

Look - I am an only child, my mom used to do everything for me up until the day I married! I learned a lot. My ex loves to tell the story that after about a month of marriage, he went out and bought 30 pairs of new socks because he realized I would not wash clothes until we had ABSOLUTELY nothing clean left to wear!

wow I was just thinking about this kind of stuff last night--
I made some awesome meatballs last night and had to ask my husband if he ever imagined 30 years ago that I would not only be a good cook but enjoy doing it.. (smart man that he is he just smiled)

I'm still not much of a cleaner- but I married a Virgo so he picks up the slack.

I wonder if this would be a good time for SA to open up one of those cans and ask this expert if he can identify that smell.

ETA Just saw that Cecybeans already had this idea.

Why is carbon tetrachloride bouncing through my brain? Wasn't that found in Vass' Gas Chromatography study ?

Now I know that is a degreaser...

MissJames, I keep hoping our "ace in the hole" is the juror who is a nurse & has history of human decompossition. Let's just pray that she works the room during deliberation.

I'm a nurse who worked in surgery for years... believe me, if that juror/nurse has an opinion she will definitely make it known. We (nurses) are not known to be a "mealy mouth."
:rocker:

Another house keeping story... :) After a hurricane I didn't open the re-fridge for a while because everything rotted. When I opened it, there were quite a few flies and maggots in it. It seems flies can get in past a decent gasket if there is reason enough, but don't seem to be able to get out again as easily perhaps it's because they are borne in there? Or because they have food in there and don't need to get out! :)

I am worried Ashton did not go far enough in questioning or listening to this guy in the proffer. The guy said he studied the car to see how easy it was for flies to get in.

I have a feeling he crawled into the trunk and shut the lid and looked for light. That would be pretty good testimony Ashton should be prepared for.
