Does anyone know if HHJP can call Baez out for these horrific drone sessions that are DESTROYED after only two questions on cross?
Does the Judge have the right to advise JB to stop the obvious stall tactics? Or can JB go on forever?
He can probably remind him they can work a whole day on Saturday and even Sunday...we all know what CM thinks of that!

You know what I've sensed by watching this testimony...the reason for JA's passion...he truly believes in this case. On the other hand, I don't get that feeling from watching Baez. It's hard to argue points that are closer to resembling b$ than the truth. If his scenario really stacked up, he'd be able to find those that could undeniably testify that the evidence the State presented was hogwash. That's not happening...not even close.
You have to wonder why this guy...a student of Dr. Haskell's...would want to testify knowing the depth and breadth of of Dr. H's knowledge? Can you imagine what Ashton will do with the grief counselor's testimony? She's never even "examined" Casey.
It is much harder to cross examine the touchy feely soft science experts. Their "science" doesn't necessarily operate based on laws of nature, but more on a basis of a consensus of like minded other experts in the same field -- like "group think."

I don't know if this has been posted, during one of the break Bill S. told how he had gone over to the line of folks waiting to get in and asked if they were eeveer in trouble, would they want Baz for an attorney. Everyone responded. "NO!" Bill S. says this case could very well break Baez's career.
One can hope.

Hate to pop your balloon, but I'm afraid JB will now be considered a high profile attorney ,perfect for the talking head circuit. :banghead:

In all fairness, and as much as I hate it, Baez is fighting for the life of his client, so he should and needs to be given as much time as it takes.

Judge Perry always says that "death is different".

I know, I know. But it's like JB is trying to scrape a hole in a cement wall with a Q-tip. He is just not putting in the effort and is so inept he keeps thwarting himself!

I agree, I find it appalling that any attorney would have the B@lls to take their phone with them and use it during a trial to question a witness. I just don't see how that is proper court room etiquette and how that is legal..I have been told it is legal for LKB to be texting him..I just don't see how when she is not even on the DT anymore. Assuming that she is the one he is texting. And why is Dorthy Sim's even there? She is the medical expert and has done nothing but babysit Casey. Baez has first chair and he will end up putting Casey in the electric chair if he doesn't get his act together and have her throw herself to the mercy of the court... And I hope Judge Perry doesn't feel sorry for the Anthony's come sentencing time..Cindy played a big part in this cover up and lied to LE as well...she destroyed evidence from the car and gave the FBI the wrong tooth brush. The only person I feel sorry for is Caylee..she is the only one that was duct taped/chloroformed/triple bagged/, and dumped like trash 15 housed down from the Anthony home near Casey's pet cemetary... JMO :cow:

Sorry :truce:

I have often wondered why DS is there myself. :waitasec:

I missed posting during the afternoon testimony but my husband and I were literally :floorlaugh: at Ashton's "why didn't you put the pig in a blanket?" comment! :floorlaugh:

Can you imagine if ICA takes the stand what mincemeat Jeff Ashton will make out of her? It will be a ripping, shredding, grinding, blending, chopping, grated piece of damn good questioning from JA!!!!!

Ohhhh yeaaaaaaa! Just what little Casey needs, and that will be only the beginning.

All the good ones would not go with the defenses baseless and outlandish claims about the evidence. Why do you think their expert hair witness declined to testify? Because he agreed with Karen Lowe from the FBI - post mortem banding, end of story.

I also don't think we will be seeing Dr. Boch OR Dr. Furton either!

I don’t see how he will be able to build a reputation for anyone to want to call him as an expert witness. He couldn’t even lie effectively today, but I will give him credit for trying. Getting caught red handed kinda reminds of who he was there to lie for.

I really think I lost some brains cells today. At some points it felt as if my mind was decomposing.
I tried to prevent that by wrapping a blanket arround my head but I could still hear the hummms and uhhhs of bugboy reassuring me apparently that apicore would not grown in such a warm place....and that non food wont turn into food in the trash ,which I will admit disapointed me a bit as I can only guess how many people would save tons of money and resprout growth of the economy by allowing people to larger disposable incomes to which to spend in target!

Yes that can be true. But I can bet Dr. Huntington wishes he was never in Florida today.

Will this guy be back on the stand tomorrow? Please say "No"!!!!!

Oh Lordy I hope not, I believe when they are excused they are free to go. Otherwise they would have just gone to recess until tomorrow.

But, we can rest assured and gear ourselves up for a long 4 hours tomorrow. You know that whoever the DT calls up will be on the stand the entire time.

Like Dr. Vass and Dr. Haskell?

Well for starters, he said Dr. Vass wasn't an anthropologist! :floorlaugh:

(Pssst...he's a forensic anthropologist.) ;)

This guy thought he was being very cute/smart by playing loosely with the semantics of almost every SA Question.
It felt very passive aggressive and not in your standard intellectual talking down to his audience kind of way, either.

Quote Respect faefrost :tyou:

G-D THANK YOU! I know! He related on a weird level with the maggots, and this comes from a woman who thinks she speaks to trees, nature in general. All of the experts for the State exuded intellectual curiosity and a healthy mental attitude imo, while: Igor hits it on the nail. I was also thinking of "wormstrom" from Futurama. Also the little guy in the Mummy who plays sides to get gold and is told by a character: guys like you always get their come uppance.

He is a toadie. And I do not think the dark princess was pleased with his performance. Does she have to do everything herself!? :bud: :bigstick:

One of the best lessons from him was that flies are good mommas ,always looking for the proper food to care for their babies. That's their sole concern.
Hear that Casey?

You just can't make this stuff up

I think this witness got himself into hot water because he didn't understand the difference between an opinion one might declare to one's colleagues or to people in an insect forum and one made in a court of law. Saying that an image in a picture is definitely not decomp will fly in a faculty lounge atmosphere if you can back it up, but in court it has to really be factual.

For instance, most of us feel very confident about our opinions of, well, many things and can back those opinions up. We've seen a lot on here and have an excellent idea of what is what in crime. Still, would we testify to our opinion in a court of law as fact based on our expertise?
