Isn't it interesting that they didn't hire the bug guy when the body was found in Blanchard Park? Oh Caylee was still missing. Casey told us so.

Hate to pop your balloon, but I'm afraid JB will now be considered a high profile attorney ,perfect for the talking head circuit. :banghead:
LOL...his law career...which I still hope and pray happens because I do feel the accused deserve a competent attorney.

I just read this on my cousin's facebook page...I'm not taking credit or giving it to her since I'm sure she copied it from somewhere...but it's funny!

OMG~
OJ had 'if it doesn't fit, you must acquit'...
now Casey Anthony has
'Ain't no reasonable doubt, if the smell won't come out'

I am so glad that JA pointed out to the jury and got T. Huntington to agree that there was NO FOOD products in that garbage or trash..It completely debunks the Defenses assertions..No food..No decomp odour (odor for my US buds)..showing with the actual evidence that there was no Salami..but paper was just the icing on the cake :floorlaugh:

BTW..Didnt Dr. Vass say very clearly that these particular bugs are attracted to NON-PROCESSED meats?? Then went on to suggest that scenerio..2 pounds of raw hamburger and a bag over their head..something like that..That was really humourous!!

I really dont think poor Dr. Huntington discredited his mentor nor Dr. Vass with his "Assumptions" ..He assessed the trash by pictures (and what Baez told him) and very clearly JA pointed out his viewpoint was mistaken..JA also pointed out his test no where near came close to what happened to Caylee:great:

What headway did JB make? I heard nothing to address nor prove DT's theory??:waitasec:

i totally agree and have been saying so

if there is a problem its isnt going to be her

i think folks just cant get over hhjp not allowing the challenge

imo

I saw on the trial thread for today that people seem worried about Juror #4. I am not worried about her at all. I know people just like her and I have her perfectly pictured in my head and I am going to say that IMO she is not going to be a problem.

Yes, during selection she said she didn't like to judge based on what other people say. I took that to mean that she doesn't like to gossip. Doesn't want to hear other peoples nonsense and wants to make her own decisions about people. But cross her or do her wrong or act a fool and she will never forget. Once she heard ICA lie on the jailhouse videos, that was it for her. Juror #4 is not going to tolerate any lying! (The way I have Juror #4 pictured in my head and IMO, obviously I don't know the real juror).

Now, I can't say that IMO I think she would vote for DP, but I don't think she will have any problem voting her guilty.

Do you know if they respond to Ashton when he greets them? I've never read a tweet or comment about it one way or the other. I sure hope so. Tht would be telling. Anyone?

IDK but I have never seen Ashton greet them. He just goes about his business, laying out his case, not giving them any phony attention. '

Baez on the other hand, goes out of the way to turn to them and say ' Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, with a smarmy smile." I have never seen JA do that. And it sounds like they are not buying it and they see ut as patronizing.

This guy thought he was being very cute/smart by playing loosely with the semantics of almost every SA Question.
It felt very passive aggressive and not in your standard intellectual talking down to his audience kind of way, either.

Passive / Aggressive - perfect description of what I saw today.

If I was on the jury today, I would have been frustrated with all the side bars. I would have been unimpressed by the interuptions, looks, and remarks made by JA today. I would have found his cross examinations much more convincing if he had left out the theatrics, condescending attitude and interrupting the witness before he was finished answering.

If LDB had been the one doing the objecting, and doing the cross, I think this witnesses testimony and cross would have been completed in half the time, and the results would have been much more clear. As it ended up, the jury could have become confused, or disinterested because of all the lawyering cat and mouse going on this afternoon.

I think the defense should be allowed to have an expert on the stand, and be allowed that experts opinions in the same way that the prosecution had their experts on the stand. Yes, I understand the objections, and side bars, as there were many when the state presented its experts. I know this is all part of the trial, but just as HHJP became exasperated with JA and admonished him for his remark about JB texting during his objection, I became frustrated with all the theatrics. Let the defense present its case, after all, you want to legally end the life of the defendant if she is found guilty.

As always, my entire post is my opinion only.

So to re-cap, Huntington wound up confirming Dr. Haskell's testimony and impeaching his own? IS this correct?

One of the best lessons from him was that flies are good mommas ,always looking for the proper food to care for their babies. That's their sole concern.
Hear that Casey?

You just can't make this stuff up

That quote was straight from Dr Haskell! He said it one the stand the other day, oh I hope the jury remember that.

I think that is was upset me the most about the testimony he gave. I could have lived with the scientific end of it - there should have been more early colinizers... even all the 'it depends' qualifiers in his answers

but when JA pulled out the depo and found the spot where he asked him if he agreed with Dr. Haskell's report and evaluation and he answered 'yes' and here he was trying to testify to something completely different it irked me

You can be young and inexperienced but, IMO, you should ALWAYS be professional. Yes levels of professionalism change over time but this man is a PHD for goodness sake. He knows what his role is and what he is testifying to and what he said in his deposition.

It was simply inexcusable.

MOO

Does anyone know what was up with the tweet about the two jurors putting a coat over the monitor? That was during the picture of the stain in the trunk. Sure seems like some people have no problems thinking that it's decomp.

Those will be the ones with there faces in the media when this is all over.

Does anyone know why the Judge wants to see the attorneys at 8:30am in the morning?

TIA

that is really funny but remember the trunk liner was pulled out in court and shown to the jurors...to my shock it didn't stink!..since this bug guy opened the door via the defense....I want the stain in the trunk to come into court along with the witnesses who saw it on the monitors....

Isn't what Simms does is provide the "Doc in the Box? So she has obviously got some nameless person for Baez to consult while he is up at the podium or when he is listening to JA.
This is stuff we would not be expecting her to do any courtroom work directly with the witnesses, but her job is to find and have on the line, experts for Baez to consult directly, or have Simms ask the questions for Baez to the expert or experts so Baez can use them when he is up with his witnesses.

Just wanted to clear that up.
You may be right. I don't have any first hand knowledge.

Just to add: DR TH never did answer directly the question as to "have you ever TESTED Adipocere?" He wouldn't admit that he has not chemically determined nor identified the breakdown of the fatty acids contained in a substance and concluded that it was ADIPOCERE. In actuality, he was unable, when reading DR Haskell's report, to pronounce the names of those fatty acids and the components of Adipocer

I am surprise the DT went with someone who had no experience in testifying in court, esp with a veteran lawyer like JA-I think they did a disservice to their client! IMO
