Does anyone know where in the yard that Cindy indicated that grass would no longer grow? Is it the same area the dogs hit on? I am a LONG time lurker so hopefully this is in the right thread. Thanks in advance!

BBM. Upon reading the bolded portion, I immediately got a picture in my head of LKB turning a handle on a large box, some music plays, and then out pops an expert! :floorlaugh:

Or a weasel, as the case may be.

Gad... I've just got a big case of the sillys now.

IMO, if jurors are covering their monitors at any time during the presentation of evidence, they have no business serving in this trial.

If the above quoted allegations are true, I hope HHJP is informed, so that he can inquire & determine the appropriate action.
But they've already seen the stain, and coupled with all the talk of rotting pigs (with photos!) and flies, perhaps they were feeling sick. I felt really bad for them today.

I wonder if the Anthony's picked up on TH's testimony from this morning that decomp fluids will kill grass and that grass will not grow in an area where decomp fluids have been spilled.

Surely, that statement had to resonate with not only the Anthony's, but also with the jury--especially after Cindy made such a to-do about grass no longer growing in certain areas of their backyard, but she had no explanation as to why the grass would not grow.

I guess that now she knows why.

Darn, I missed that. Hopefully at least one of the jurors got it and can tell the others about it.

Except, this guy Huntington said that there was no body in the trunk. He says that 'it makes no sense in terms of the evidence he saw.'

His reasons are no flies, just 1 leg. And the stain did not 'look' in the photo like a decomp stain.

He did say that, but JA got him to admit he never saw the "trunk" only photos, and he identified a piece of paper as "salami", in the evidence photo. Though he stated the car still smelled after 2 years, he denied there was a decomposed body there . .*&^%$^&*

I do wonder if/how the outline of Caylee's body in a fetal position, in the trunk stain will be brought in by the State. For me, it is one of the most damaging pieces of evidence besides the smell which places the baby in the car.

The fact that he had been contacted on Dec.11th before Caylee's remains had been identified is huge.

It was where the dogs hit -- the area that LE dug up. She said in her testimony that they have since paved that area over because for some reason grass wound not grow there. Now she knows why.

I think the State of FL paid for this round.:maddening:

That is ok. Watching JA cross made this money well spent. Although, I am not from Florida so Floridians may disagree with me. :truce:

And ALSO...might I add to this glorious day...our newly acquired Last Minute Defense Team Star Witness Extroidinare..VT had that mahvelous presser today and blew JB&Co's new smarmy slimy defense tactic to smitherines.......

Great day for Caylee.

In all fairness, and as much as I hate it, Baez is fighting for the life of his client, so he should and needs to be given as much time as it takes.

Judge Perry always says that "death is different".

ITA, but the more time JB takes, the more he just ends up screwing himself.

I have always wondered if Cindy cleaned the car mats off back there, and perhaps dumped the bucket from scrubbing the trunk. She would have no idea at that time it would kill her grass.

I don't know - but I think he is going to take charge of his courtroom. No voices raised, long drawn out and repeated questioning of the same thing - for starters. The jurors are getting bored and turned off by unprofessional behavior.

JA, bless him, needs to tone it down and JB needs to lay off the trial by text.

I may be wrong..but cross examining professional witnesses or experts are a completely different animal from my experience..(Trial watching for almost a decade) oh yeah..also Convicts or snitches..but when it comes to laypeople..its a different story...you dont have to yell and scream or be assertive in order to impeach..facts are facts..its a yes or no answer..with some sort of reasonings....

In a nutshell, assertive, forceful crosses (either side) needs to discount somehow the experts "Opinion" and by all accounts poor Dr. T Huntington was rather out of his league...I recall how Neal Haskell dealt with insinuations and Dr. Vass took it in stride..Yikes can you imagine being accused of "Profiting" from your invention??...Man..

So two completely different in my view/ JMOO:seeya:

Quite the contrary. JB proved alot with this witness. He proved that there was NO FOOD in this trash bag. Therefore, no SMELL of rotting meat or pizza. If the trash don't smell, KC better get use to that cell....:floorlaugh:

No food in the car means the odor came from something (or sadly, someone) else.

will somebody please tell me how trash with no food in it smells after two years

like the defense expert testified to today

Just watched that mini clip of 48 hours and got me wondering where is Kathy Reich's in all this? Is she still going to take her chances with Ashton! LOL!

I just can't believe a bug expert would not know if the chloroform would keep the flies away or kill them. After all pesticide has plenty of chloroform in it.

LOL OMG - I bet you any money Furton was watching today with shaking knees.

I truly doubt that Furton will make an appearance...didn't LDB rip him a new one during the Frye Hearing?

That is such shoddy work. We would NEVER put up with detectives investigating a case like that! I saw it in a picture so it must be so? Who in Hades does TH think he is? I just LOVED the whole paper thing for that reason. I think he was SHOCKED he was wrong.

I cannot get over his arrogance. He is never going to make it by disrespecting his elders, one of which is a person who trained him, and also by acting like he is GOD when it comes to seeing something in a photograph. Wow. Maybe this case will be helpful if he sees the error of his ways!

And boy am I feeling old and cranky right now, LOL.

You just said everything I have been thinking today, right on! He really thought he was the only one in the room that knew anything. I saw no love of vocation like I saw with Dr Vass, no personality either. moo

Oh Lordy I hope not, I believe when they are excused they are free to go. Otherwise they would have just gone to recess until tomorrow.

But, we can rest assured and gear ourselves up for a long 4 hours tomorrow. You know that whoever the DT calls up will be on the stand the entire time.

Please, please, please let it be Spitz!!!!

We interrupt this Sidebar for a very important announcement from our Fearless Leader Tricia:

OK. I ordered 2 pizza's but I was a bit dismayed when talking to Michael that only 5 including my 2 have been ordered for tomorrow.

The jurors have been summoned to listen to and to observe evidence in a capital murder trial.

If a juror feels that they are unable to fulfill all the obligations of the task (including the viewing of photographic evidence in the courtroom), they need to step aside so that an alternate can take their place.

A juror covering a monitor to avoid seeing an image of evidence is akin to a juror stepping outside the courtroom without the Judge's permission. IOW - it would be considered contempt of court.

When HHJP acknowledges the presence of the Jury to the Court, each & every juror is expected to fulfill his/her duties - including viewing all materials presented, for whatever length of time they are presented, until HHJP dismisses the Jury.

ETA: When the Jury enters the Court, the State, the Defense, and the Judge (not to mention Justice) expect the full attention of the Jury until they are dismissed by the Judge.
