Holy Moly! I just heard JA crossing Dr. H. Well, a bit of it from HLN. TH is saying JA beat up on the guy? could have dialed it back? People were feeling sorry for the expert witness?
Seriously, are people that vapid? Oh, well...
Sorry for the rant. It is HLN...

Dog gone it! I said weasel earlier and not as in a name reference but only that the word came to mind and my post "went poof."

Same thing happened to me yesterday. The DNA lady said Casey was a 15-17. I said, so I take it she was not a 10. Poof. I figured it was just a glitch.

I think that this whole dream team all leads back to Ms. LKB. She thought she saw a way to make the big bucks, publicity-wise, when this case broke nationally, and she more than likely recruited all the 'big' names like H. Lee, K. Reichs, Huntington, Spitz, etc.....then she bailed when the going got rough and she could read the writing on the wall.

How's that working for ya now, Linda K-B?

my distaste for that woman is so complete

i would rather go to lunch with JB than her

is anyone sleazier than her

and jvm keeps giving her a stage

Hate to pop your balloon,but I'm afraid JB will now be considered a high profile attorney ,perfect for the talking head circuit. :banghead:

Yep, but I have that remote in my hot hands and can zap him away from injuring my 52" LCD tv screen. Don't want his image burned into it.

Just think of how "over" this case would have been if there wasn't testimony that could be "bought" (for whatever reason: fame, recognition, whatever). I'm really not putting this all on Dr. Huntington. I think this entire case has gone on for too long for the wrong reasons.
My father was a criminal defense attorney and I once asked him how he could defend someone who was "obviously" guilty. He told me that if someone's guilt is that obvious then the prosecution knows it too and the best thing he could do for his client would be to negotiate the best sentence possible. IMVHO...this is what should have been done 3 years ago when even some of us might have believed it was an accident.

I agree with you. Most people I know who are only vaguely aware of the case want to believe it was an accident. However, I'm more and more convinced nobody could make that woman take a plea.

He did say that, but JA got him to admit he never saw the "trunk" only photos, and he identified a piece of paper as "salami", in the evidence photo. Though he stated the car still smelled after 2 years, he denied there was a decomposed body there . .*&^%$^&*

I do wonder if/how the outline of Caylee's body in a fetal position, in the trunk stain will be brought in by the State. For me, it is one of the most damaging pieces of evidence besides the smell which places the baby in the car.

The fact that he had been contacted on Dec.11th before Caylee's remains had been identified is huge.

~~~~Bolded by me
In fact, what he stated was that the trunk still smelled of garbage after 2 years.
I find it difficult to believe that any container which only held non-organic items and only held trash (paper, plastic, metals, etc.), would still, after 2 years of sitting closed up, would STILL smell of "garbage," especially since that "garbage" had been removed from said trunk 2 years prior.
That entire line of testimony from TH was a bought and paid for statement that holds absolutely no credence in my book.
And I would venture to guess, that some of those middle-aged women who are sitting on that jury are going to come to the exact same conclusions that I did.
But, at the time, way back in July 2008 the State would have been willing to negotiate...they wanted Caylee found.
But she would have to have told where the remains were. No way could she have the remains found and still claim any kind of accident.
I just can't believe a bug expert would not know if the chloroform would keep the flies away or kill them. After all pesticide has plenty of chloroform in it.
Well, that's because he is not a chemist.
We all cheered him on as did most of those watching (IMO) so I hope this is just ratings hype. I think the jury is realistic and knows when a little passion is a good thing.
I am not sure which "they" you are referring to here, so I will respond as to the two parties involved.
Did Dr. TH say why that was? Not to my knowledge.
Did Cindy ever say why that was? No. She stated that she/they did not know why the grass would no longer grow in those areas. Instead, they have had to put pavers down in the rest of the background grassy areas.
thankies, I meant any "they" that may have answered. I was curious why decomp fluid would not only kill grass but prevent it from growing again. is it only human decomp etc as animals must decompose in grass often?
also, I was very sad for CA to have to know this.
IMO, if jurors are covering their monitors at any time during the presentation of evidence, they have no business serving in this trial.
If the above quoted allegations are true, I hope HHJP is informed, so that he can inquire & determine the appropriate action.
Were they possibly covering up the pic of the pig decomposing that was on the easel for such a long time, while sidebars went on and on? If so, I might do the same thing. No need to look at that for an hour!
been gone will play catch up later...is there court tomorrow?
My understanding from Cindy's testimony is that it was exactly in those areas where the dogs hit upon.
If I am incorrect in my recollection, I am sure that someone will correct me. :)
You are 100% correct.
Just jumping off your post,
I see him as a young intellectual. This was all just a new challenge for him. He may be a bit embarrassed but he will rebound. It is just a new way of learning for him. He will learn from it and go further, he will continue to look for new intellectual challenges.
I am going to agree with that, he is just not seasoned yet as Dr.Vass & Dr. Haskell. This will be a learning lesson for him. He obviously is quite intelligent to get where he is but no experience with what he was asked to do today.
I agree - and good for him. However, I don't think a death penalty case is where one should cut their teeth in order to gain experience. After all, a human life (well...ICA's, anyway) hangs in the balance.
Can someone tell me the date the trunk stain was brought into evidence? I would like to read testimonies from that day. TIA!
I heard Baez left the picture of the rotting pig in the trunk up on the screens for about an hour while they testified and then argued about stuff at the sidebar. I don't blame the juror. There was no reason to look at it that long.
The circled area is where the dogs hit ... the dead grass patch is closer to the pool area but in the general vicinity
The pig decomposition photo was on JB's low-tech easel - not on the juror's monitors.
Unless I missed it - I don't think a juror stepped down & threw a coat over the easel.
