Is Casey worse than:
Richard Adams, the Lake County father of 8-year-old Kayla?
Eric Patrick Fletcher shook his baby to death in Port St. Lucie. He got less than five years.
Michael Dubisky left his 4-month-old son blind, suffering from cerebral palsy, seizures and other problems. The boy died six years later. Dubisky left prison shortly thereafter.
Alexandra Tobias of Jacksonville shook her baby to death for interrupting her on a computer game. She got 50 years.

Reading this article(in Today's News WS) made my heart beat fast and my palms sweat. :dunno: I think it is the reaction my body has because I do take it seriously we are talking about the death penalty.
They had me(my guilt at my recent change of mind about Casey getting the death penalty causes me to flip flop)when they start saying maybe giving anyone the death penalty is not the best idea. I admit my personal beliefs are the reason for that, I don't want to say religious reasons but it would be fair if someone else said that...
The question is, is Casey Anthony any worse than...these monsters? Wow, that sounds like some good ole fashioned Anthony logic. We know Casey is a monster who murdered her daughter and threw her away where people put trash, but "boo hoo" she isn't any worse than THESE monsters and THEY didn't get put to DEATH!
Insanity! When I worry that someone may be innocent(not not guilty but innocent)of a crime and put to death-that is literally what I am worried about. A truly innocent person put to death but I do not believe that is what the evidence shows in this case. If innocent people are being put to death, I say if only because I have zero knowledge of that subject, isn't that a big deal for a lot of people who know about it? What I mean is what can you do about a whole system(where ever this happens)that must have been hell bent on getting a totally innocent person all the way to their death by the hands of the state...? I mean if there is something to be done, it would have to be done by those more than work a day people, right?
I never understand these types of issues from an adult perspective. My mind works like a child when I hear that innocent people are put to death. "Why doesn't the president do something about that? Can't their family call the president and ask for help? Wouldn't the family and someone important see that this person was innocent and help? Why would everyone allow or some people allow a good and innocent person to go to their death?" Mind you I am aware of racism and other factors of history and society where such a thing was VERY common and all too true: but I would be speaking of the last twenty five years or so...
IMHO: Casey is guilty and she has been afforded every chance to show that she is innocent. Her rights have been guarded over the rights of Amy H, Vasco T., Zenaida Gonzalez, etc. All in the name of making sure everything is done right for Casey, the accused. And yet, we can have innocent people who are being put to death? Again, I am not saying it isn't true but that it is a issue of apples and oranges to a degree: the fact that some innocent people are put to death has nothing to do with the idea that Casey could be put to death for being found guilty.
Having said all that, I do believe an advanced society does not have the death penalty. But, I do not believe our society has advanced to that degree, at least here in the United States. I know there are other countries that do not have the death penalty and I am glad because, again I hope humanity is headed that-a-way...I believe advancements in mental health and the understanding of genetic factors(DNA)will help humanity to rid the need for a death penalty and in my dreams of a future world without crime of any kind. :blowkiss: :earth:
but right here and right now, in this case, for the argument that Casey should not be put to death because she is no worse than other people that have brutally murdered their children does not work for me. It makes me wonder why the system failed to rid our world of such cruelty. I do not enjoy feeling this way but an article like that more convinces me that not only should Casey be given the death penalty but we should also go back and correct those other mistakes. :innocent:
