JB is doing this on purpose. He asked for mistrial so many times and was denied, that his only option to get another trial is to go against court orders again, and again, hoping that one of his witnesses will be excluded, which opens the door to a new trial. I don't think JB's antics will stop. He is putting the judge against a wall.

I believe he will follow through,especially since it has come up again. I also think he's ready to call JB's bluff.

JB would have plenty of time if he would just shorten the extremely long, boring, ultimately non-evidentiary, and time-wasting examination of his witnesses. Hours and hours would open up to him immediately!

I think ICA wrote JBs soliloquy today and based it on what she said to the parental units when she didn't graduate from high school.

IMO Baez has been involved in so many underhanded maneuverings outside of court that what he is doing during the hearings is what he is going to get the book thrown at him for once this trial is finished. The State is not blind to what he has been involved in the last three years. I doubt the whole story of his manipulations will come out, but I’m convinced we’re seeing the end of JB’s career in law due to has failure to follow the Judge’s orders(even though he is guilty of much worse)…….. As for CM, it’s been my belief that he joined the defense in order to give it some credibility. When JB is found to be in contempt we still have a very competent well known attorney associated with ICA’s defense. I hope they hang JB.

See, I think CM joined to get some of that "national publicity" for himself. I don't think there was much that was altruistic about it. But I can't figure out why he's not stepping in to prevent this runaway train from crashing. You would think he'd care about looking like a fool on a national stage.

I'm trying to put myself in the jury's shoes. This is the defense's turn and I would have to wonder if THEY wonder if the defense is causing these delays and thus they are annoyed at the defense?

Nothing. He is not the problem. Judge can't show bias though. So he calls out both sides. However, JA doesn't have contempt proceedings hanging over his head. Only JB.

Not only the contempt from last week {and from a few months ago} but Ashton said he was going to write up and request contempt or sanctions for todays little fiasco as well.

They are adding up = and it just only goes to prove to me with even more validitity that Baez has no intentions of practicing law again once this case is over.

Its amazing how very many lives Casey Anthony ruins. Every single person she comes in contact with their lives are ruined. She is ruining Baez's life. She is ruining C. Mason's life by taking his distinguished career and making him look like a buffoon at the end of it. I think Baez is going to be out a ton of money and maybe stuck in jail at the end of this case, maybe lose his license or be disbarred.

But Baez can't even see it. He will do anything to try and get her off and she just keeps on ruining people's lives and going her merry way. She really is a horror story. She has decimated her whole family.

IMO Jose is no innocent in this. He's a more than willing participant. His desire for fame has overshadowed the reality of exactly what his defendant is facing. JOSE does not give a crap about Casey! IMO They have a lot in common, each one is simply too narcissistic to even realize it! They THINK are using each other......but in reality...they are two crabs in a boiling pot ensuring the other can't escape.

I may not be the best to evaluate this, since I am from a non-English speaking country, and the legal terminology can be somewhat hard for me to understand; but isn´t this slipping for Baez? Isn´t he just glaringly incompetent and hardly has an idea, let alone strategy to drive this home?
In my view, Casey has incompetent defense, and the trial should start over with a new counsel.
Forgive me if I don´t "get" this...

So a witness shows up at the State Attorneys office for a deposition on Sunday. Wasn't that nice of Baez to schedule this for Jeff Ashton? WTH Baez might fly by the seat of his pants but JA does not. And he is just trying to get the State caught off guard.


OK so now does Jose Baez expect the State to keep a court stenographer on premise 24 hours a day? Baez knows better. He realized he had the second lightening strike hanging over his head and suddenly this witness was asked to prepare a report and slide show? No the slide show was already prepared. You don't suddenly on a Sunday afternoon prepare a slide show presentation. Good Luck Baez.

So why aren't any of the other lawyers on the DT stepping in to prevent JB from making a huge mess out of the CIC? They've got what, 5 other lawyers? Or more? Is JB really insisting on taking charge of everything? Or have the others pretty much given up?

And this is exactly the reason Casey will NOT get an ineffective counsil appeal. She has 5 other very qualified lawyers.

Rewatching this mornings arguments and it's so typical of JB to insinuate that he's the only one working hard on this case. He's got some enormous....

Once this trial is over he is going to be in so much hot water - he really needs to enjoy his time left practicing law while he can!

what really frosts my cookies is how JB is taking that inkling of fairness from saturday (not excluding Rodriquez) and turing back on the judge (shield meet sword). Methinks the judge will take none to kindly to it. That's the unmitigated gall.

Oh and as for the 9:25/9:26 - you will note who the one who had to disagree was. JB needs a soap party.

So I guess since JB only had ONE witness out there waiting that we can expect for him to be up there ALL day like the others? Sheesh! This is too much. Why does he keep putting all these witnesses up there ALL day long when they are of no benefit to him, IMO. According to HIS opening statement, he should be putting George up there, Lee, Kronk, and anyone that may know them, friends of Casey that may have known about the "alleged" abuse, etc. I'm still failing to see why he's putting on the defense like he is.

And when JB is finished questioning, I hope JA does the shortest most succinct cross ever! Put pressure right back on JB to get next witness up there, which he won't have, which will tick JP off... KWIM?:rocker:
