To simplify QUANT vs. QUAL., think of a pregnancy test.

or NEG is a qualitative. Like a drugstore urine pregnancy test.

How pregnant... is quantitative. The hCG value can tell, within a range of course, HOW pregnant a woman is. This is run on serum (the liquid portion of the blood).

Hahahahaha. That same example was used in one of my college classes to explain the difference between digital and analog. The (male) professor said, "Can you be KIND of pregnant?"

Naturally every female in the room laughed, and the guys looked kind of confused.

I'm not sure how this is helping the defense. Just because the test was not performed specifically to determine how much chloroform was there, the fact is that it was and in high levels.

Anyone remember the old Tarzan movies where the bad guys dug a hole and covered it with sticks and leaves for Tarzan and Jane to run across it and fall in? I think this is a reverse....the defense is headed toward that trap!!!! Watch out, JB! Only JB dug the hole, covered it, and then turned around and is running into it.

Ok, I'm not a chemist nor am I a lawyer, but I think Baez is shooting himself in the foot even worse with this mess. In his quest to nullify Dr. Vass's testimony, he's convicting ICA. Not that I mind but geeze. Aren't you supposed to know the answers your own witness is gonna give??
