Well I have a different opinion

Jose Baez is the kind of guy I wouldn't trust with my brown bag lunch, let alone my life. He would be the kind of guy to take apart my sandwich, lick the peanut butter off the bread, put my sandwich back together and put it back in the bag before returning it to me.

I will admit I didn't retain all of the defense opening statement, but did he really say "we don't know where he found them"? ( Gee... that is a big hole. All of a sudden RK has possession of a dead child? Just trust JB on this?)

They have to come up with an explanation for this, imo. If I were Crystal Holloway, I would be very careful. What is the timing of her alleged affair with George?

I think I read Crystal become involved with GA during the search of the Caylee in maybe September, a few months before Caylee's remains were found. I think it ended around the time Caylee was found.

and....the one major thing the prosecution has proven without ANY reasonable doubt IMO #9 THERE WAS A DEAD body in the back of her trunk. I can understand trying to debunk everything else, but that fact has been substantiated by too many people without a dog in this fight..... It's one of the main things that's going to hang the DT.

Well I am not feeling one bit sorry for Baez.He is only in this to make a name for himself,albeit maybe not a very good one.I think he wants to be a talking head someday.He'd be better at that than lawyering anyway.This case should have been pled out long ago,once they saw the evidence against ICA.At any rate if we had to have a short day today was a good one.Nice weather ,got the lawn mowed,windows cleaned and a bunch of other stuff done.Good timing HHBP!Now let's rock and roll tomorrow and get some good witnesses up there!

ITA. Since I wasn't too familiar with the evidence before the trial, I hadn't heard about the gatorade bottle at all. All i got from it today is that it was found near the body, had a syringe in it, the liquid in the syringe and bottle might have been household cleaning product and testosterone, and perhaps a little chloroform.

Now since we'd never heard of the bottle before this at trial, I have to say it's just creepy and weird that the defense brought it up. Are they trying to say - she didn't kill her with chloroform, she killed her with household cleaning solvents and hormones? Are they trying to say, "And next to the remains there was this bottle of toxic stuff, but I'm sure there was no connection to the dead body laying a few feet away."

I'm really curious why they brought it up.

I think JB brought it up just to throw confusion into the mix. He saw that the state wasn't even going to talk about it or enter it, and he saw a chance to just muddy the waters...if we are wondering why Jose did this, then I'm sure the jury is wondering where it will lead...unfortunately, it leads nowhere.

I think quite a few things show trace amounts of chloroform. Even water, if I'm not mistaken. So I'm not really surprised to find minute amounts in either doll.

As for Mama doll, I was under the impression she was taken from the backseat. Is that incorrect? :waitasec:

iirc Mama doll was in the carseat in the back seat. CA testified to this? Or, I've been reading too much lately! :seeya:

Nope....won't work. Remember, Caylee drowned according to Baez. Casey was crying and crying whilst George was holding Caylee in his arms and yelling at her. How could you? You will go to jail for child neglect for the rest of your frickin` life. ...

ACR and her work on so many cases is amazing. She is truly devoted, dedicated to so many crimes.Her timelines, records and compilation of information is referenced by LE and many that are experts in their fields. She indeed is a special person.

lol. I read Krystal's statement to the police and she met George during the searching for Caylee. She became interested in the case and wanted to help out. She implies an affair but then says they never did anything physical. Seems if she is telling the truth, then it was more of an emotional thing. George used her for emotional comfort. She claims she gave him 4,000 or something of that nature, which he denies.

Never mentioned in trial. At least, not that I ever heard.

I believe Judge Perry is a little too concerned about possible appeals and reversals and in worrying about that and his record, may be blinding himself to the fact that this defense is probably going to go down in legal history as one of the worst ever produced. Personally I will be stunned if a conviction holds up in this case. I know mine is a highly unpopular opinion. I also don't think the prosecution has answered the main questions of where, when and how, forget about why.

Also, I read about a case of JP's last night where a DP conviction was evenutally overturned and the defendant granted a new trial, based on a police interview tape where the defendant had not been read their rights being shown to jurors...which is exactly what happened in this (CA's) case. It was a case from 1995 but the new trial was granted in 2009. This makes me wonder about JP...sounds an awful lot like YM's interview with CA at Universal.

IIRC, I don't think they ever spoke to her. They were both at work.
