2015.08.26 Jimmy Rodgers: Charged with Murder in the Second Degree

  • #41
Wal Mart, the cell phone, telling people he was going to Florida... I'm pretty sure it's on the list of 101 things NOT to do when you want to get away with murder.
It borders on rediculous when you really think about it.
I'm not sure who the "master"mind was, but they sure did things that would ID them as being in the area at the time of the murder.
With technology today, I can't see anyone using some one from out of state as a hired hit man.
I have read the "average" person is caught on CCTV 15 X a day... Its more likely than not that Big brother is gonna catch you on camera somewhere!

My bad! It's up to 75x a day in some areas now!!!

Putting the motive aside for a moment, it is still amazing how the two landed directly in front of LC Sheriff Mike Scott's office. That is just a no-no, no matter what.

The $10k payment, which I get we aren't sure how it's documented yet but as you said we're working with pieces of info on everything

The purported $10,000 payment???
I recall MSM article(s?) attributing a statement to JR's girlfriend's friend (was she friend, co-worker, neighbor or ?) to this effect -

JR's girlfriend said JR was doing work over the weekend for which he would be paid $10,000 and JR's girlfriend was pleased because he (she? they?) would be able to buy a van she wanted.

Did she say when JR's GF told her this before, during, or after that wk-end?

My quick look at media thread did not find quote from JR's girlfriend's girlfriend. Anyone? TIA.

Any other ref. to specific $10,000 paymt? JR's girlfriend herself to MSM? LSCO? Scott or unnamed 'source'? TIA

We are aware of the technology, because we follow these cases all the time. I'm not sure the average Bubba from small town America realizes that cameras are everywhere.

Why would they think there is going to be any connection to them? They live in Missouri.

MS is in Connecticut.

It must be mistakes they made at the crime scene, They could have been high on drugs ir simply arrogant.

There is a jumpsuit so they planned on covering any evidence that way.

The door indicates it was a robbery.

Not so smart!

That could just as easily point to a botched robbery of some sort.

I don't know. All these theories that have been talked about over the past couple months could be way out in left field compared to what really happened.

It will be interesting to see what the Sherriff has to say on Tricia's radio show. So curious as to why he wants to talk to a Websleuths audience !!

I'm just going with my gut, but I know there are many questions with answers we don't have. I'm definitely excited for the interview though!

Thinking about this a bit more, didn't we hear somewhere when JR was first arrested that he told people he was a hitman?

Hit men don't tell ppl they are hitmen.

Hit men don't tell ppl they are hitmen.

Agreed. But I do remember reading that. In fact, it is the reason why this whole talk of a "hired hit" started in the first place. Most posters in the original threads did not believe it was a hit because of the manner of death.

IMO he is a Punk!
Legend in his own mind!

I wonder if JR was shooting his mouth off about being a 'hitman'... CWW believed him.... set it up.... and JR was clearly not SMART enough to be a hit man? Left lots of evidence, maybe panicked ( the reason for the 27 blows?) Maybe CWW should have picked his 'hitman' better... but im sure LE is glad he didnt!

Scott opens "envelope of suspicion" on HLN - NBC-2.com WBBH News for Fort Myers, Cape Coral & Naples, Florida

"Rodgers' girlfriend told NBC2 that he claimed to be away on a construction job - one that would net him $10,000."

Definitely not smart ... the connections they may not have considered are that CWW was doing IT work for the victim, and CWW was also a childhood, or long time, friend of the victim's husband. If they left any fingerprint evidence, their prints could be identified from a database because of their previous convictions.

JMHO ...

Check out this timeline post: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...*MINIMAL-DISCUSSION**&p=12046316#post12046316

This entry from it with the related link has most of what has been publicized, in addition to what may be in the transcripts from Sheriff Scott on Nancy Grace:
6/26/2015 - JR worked 9am - 6PM (then was off until 6/30 5pm) Departs for $10K weekend job http://www.naplesnews.com/news/crime...octor_45921256

Additional entries are still needed for the timeline, btw, so facts as we have them with the related link are still requested in that thread.

MS friend said overalls were buried . I only recall that they were thrown away in the trash in MSM . Does anybody have a handy link or better recollection ?

Did you mean to type, JR's friend?

My guess as to why he wants to talk to websleuths is because in my opinion it is quite obvious some key players are paying attention to what goes on here. I think he is using it as an opportunity to apply pressure and get whatever message he wants to send out there. And of course do this without being talked over and have "bombshell" flashing across the screen.

Sigh. NG TOTALLY lost my shred of respect, she should have read up on the the case! I caught that broadcast and she had no clue as to the significance of the newness she was dropping on case followers. Someone definitely needs to tell her about WS!!!
