The sheriff's department said responders who went to the home in rural Sweet Springs early Wednesday found the child on the living room floor covered by a blanket.

Sweet Springs is a very small town in Central Missouri. The population is just shy of 1500. Sadly, it's becoming notorious for crimes and mishaps involving children.

It's been an ugly couple of days in the Kansas City area, for kids. 2 children nearly drowned and the mother was taken into custody. No details yet on if it was negligence or intentional. A four year old was accidentally shot yesterday. No charges filed in that case. It's like it's open season on little ones here.
