I am in total agreement with you. The point of my post was that 48 hours is putting out a new episode as if this was new information. SG stated this months ago, soon after BK was arrested.
That was in the days following BKs arrest. SG cited an Instagram account that was quickly disproven.

He noticeably softened his initial stance in subsequent interviews…

If you poke around in the weeks following there are other interviews where he sounds nowhere as confident and seems to dodge the direct question. Before he stops talking about it all together.

48 hours wants to tease us to watch and loves clickbait…but for them to be the last one to the party and give us a dud? Their prodcuers live eat and breathe true crime.

So I’m going to go out on a limb and say he found either evidence of something new or evidence to back what he believed before.

MOO

I don't think people should go by anything SG says - there's a good reason why he was told to stop speaking to the press about the case.

Today's hearing

In the correct video version of the 9/13 hearing above, we do see AT seated next to BK.

At :25, I see BK entering the courtroom, walking past AT without acknowledgment, both seemingly avoiding eye contact with one another. When AT leans in to half-smile at (or past) him, he instead looks to the right.

BK really is good-looking. And yet he has never had a real girlfriend, is that correct? So it seems that his personality is almost immediately apparent to any female he approaches. He seems weird from the get-go. Sad really, and no doubt why he has ended up where he is now. Not that it excuses his actions in the slightest.

He was trying to run a shadow investigation (that might have hurt the case), was heavily critical of Law Enforcement and started describing his daughters case using some pretty wild cooky conspiracy theory language…

I wanted him off the TV more than the average person.

But I dont place those things in the same buckets as this. So I’m not going to outright dismiss everything the guys says. Even though I should know better!

I'm glad you said it first because I've been thinking this whole time, especially since he's been in suits with his hair all nice, that he's a nice looking fellow. (and wondering what is wrong with me?) Not drop dead gorgeous or anything, but not some disgusting nasty slob. His personality and demeanor (and his creepy eyes) obviously turn people off.

Fine. IIRC, didn't they actually build a box for the camera in OJ?

This is on point:

Judge Ito effectively agreed with what lawyers for both sides, along with representatives of various news groups and the American Civil Liberties Union, told him today: that whatever mistaken reporting on the case had taken place had happened outside the courtroom, not inside; that rather than encourage irresponsible reporting, cameras could both check and correct it, and that in a case crucial to public faith in courts, television was essential.

jmo
JJ has a touch decision to make but I'm very surprised that he gave the OJ trial as an example. The OJ trial was 30 years ago and literally in a different century. As far as technology, and how news is handled, it might as well have happened on a different planet. In my recollection and reading, high profile trials have always resulted in circus atmospheres and irresponsible reporting. The Lindberg baby is just one example. That show A Crime To Remember gave some excellent examples of yellow journalism.

I can easily understand why judges don't like camera in the courtroom. It's a lot of pressure on them, having the whole world see every decision they make, every word they speak. One poorly timed joke by anyone in that courtroom and it would be blown horribly out of proportion. That person would be verbally crucified. I admit that I wouldn't really like to do my job with someone watching me all day long.

The biggest differences today are 1) the technology that is in the hands of the average joker with nothing better to do than blow up pictures of someone's fly. And 2) the rush to be first having become so bad that no one bothers to confirm their facts before going to print or on air. We can't even be confident in the reporting about what hand BK uses to sign documents in court. I agree with Judge Ito that the best way to correct those problems is with cameras in the courtroom.

I think you're right that his behavior likely led to social troubles for him, but I'm not convinced that having girlfriends, a wife, or even a successful job in law enforcement would have changed the outcome for BK. IMO, something isn't right with him, and if the old online posts about his mental health were legitimately from BK, it's sad he was unable to be helped. Now, any sadness for his prior mental health struggles is compounded exponentially with the killing of four people, which left the families, community, LE, and now folks in the legal system (ex. jurors) with different types of deep wounds they now have to live with, even if BK dies. It's just awful, all the way around. JMO.

New article as of today. Sounds like this will all be part of the new 48 Hours episode.

Father of Kaylee Goncalves, one of four murdered University of Idaho students, says there is evidence his daughter fought back

Steve Goncalves says, according to the coroner, the first victim was Mogen. Both Mogen and Goncalves were sleeping in the same bed in a room on the third floor of the house. After killing Mogen, the assailant then went on to kill Kaylee, Steve Goncalves said.

"There's evidence to show that she awakened and tried to get out of that situation," says Goncalves, "she was assaulted and stabbed."

Kristi Goncalves explains her daughter had several fatal wounds and that the way the bedroom was set up, made it difficult to escape. "The bed was up against the wall. The headboard was touching the wall and the left side of the bed was touching the wall. And we believe that Maddie was on the outside and Kaylee was on the inside," she says. "The way the bed was set up … she was trapped." Kristi Goncalves believes the assailant was not expecting to find the two best friends together in the same bed. " I do think that his plan went awry. I do think that, you know, he intended to kill one and killed four."
..............

The Goncalves' also think they may have found a possible connection, through Instagram, between Bryan Kohberger, their daughter, and Maddie Mogen. They believe they found Kohberger's Instagram account and he had been following Kaylee's and Maddie's Instagrams. "From our investigation of the account, it appeared to be the real Bryan Kohberger account," says Kristi Goncalves.

I'm so confused, isn't this all stuff that should be kept quiet for the trial?

I see a lot of "we believe" terminology, so I'm just not sure how much is fact, and how much is family speculation. JMO.

If the above information about MM and KG is true, then I believe the noises DM interpreted as KG playing with Murphy were actually the sounds of whichever girl was against the wall trying to escape and hitting the wall. Since the "there's somebody here" comment came after the noises, I'm guessing it was XK who said it. :(

Oh, good catch. So they pulled in another chair for the other attorney?

Wonder what's going on. Is someone unhappy with their defense?

I do wonder how many more motions will come up (request for change of venue, request for change of judge, request for new attorneys, etc). And I guess that's all to set up future appeals.

Then there will be the battles over who is allowed as a witness and what the evidence will be. I understand SG's frustration.

I wonder if BK wants to take the stand, as well. He may think he's very convincing.

IMO.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> ... I'm not looking too much into their behaviors in the courtroom. So far, if she smiles at him, she's being callous to the victims, if she doesn't smile at him, she is avoiding him because he's a creep. If he looks at her, he's oogling, if he doesn't look at her, he wants a new lawyer. I mean, any or all of these things could be accurate, but I'm just not sure how they are supposed to act in a hearing to convey the appropriate sentiment to the public. I would just hate to be in any of their shoes, either side, under such horrible circumstances. Nobody is a winner here, and everything they do will be judged. I'm not taking a stance on the use of cameras, but I can certainly understand why some don't want them there. JMO.

Was he told that? Who told him that? He's not under the gag order. While this article is NYP, other MSM links:

I've never heard of people's first amendment rights being stopped by a gag order - only officers of the court/LE/court employees, etc.

From the article:

The families of the four victims can also speak to the media but their attorneys cannot, WNEP reported.

I think the WNEP link works and is the original source.

The judge didn't actual "loosen" the gag order, just clarified it. SG's attorney is still not permitted to speak publicly.

I do believe that a lot is supposition, based on locations where the girls were found and possible defensive wound

Has Judge Judge actually made ANY decisions on things the defense have requested decisions on? I could be wrong but it seems he delays making decisions and still hasn’t decided?

Well so far nothing new? We knew KG fought back, according to her dad. Didn’t know who was on which side of the bed but I’m not sure that matters. I’m ready for this trial to get started, but I think it’s going to be awhile.
