So glad they finally came out with another special to shed light on this case. Its heartbreaking to hear Missy and Sara talk about MBB. Sara seems pretty certain that MBB was seeing her regulars the day she went missing due to her CL acct being flagged.

I just finished watching. I found it interesting MBB's friend said she believes he must have been a regular. Also at the end Geraldine Hart said the belt belongs to a large male. Did we already know that or is that new information?

Sidenote: I am glad they mentioned plenty about Burke! It was interesting hearing what Det. Varrone had to say.

I think it was mentioned on the recent local news channel segment bc another WB'er mentioned it on a thread a day or so ago. I think it is definitely new info!!

I believe that is new information about the “large male”.

Here's the issue I have with this case, and I think "48 hours" cemented it. Even with renewed media like the "48 hours" episode, we're talking about a 10 year cold case. It languished without FBI help for several years due to inept policing. The beach that the bodies we're found in lies 1 hour from 4 out of the 5 boroughs and most of Long Island and all we really know is, "Large Male, Possible Initials 'H/M' or "W/H", victim type 5' or under, Hazel Green Eyes, 100lbs or less." Half of which we just found out ten years later.

We also know because of all the media attention he isn't dumping in Gilgo anymore, but we also know Serial Killers just don't stop. So unless someone stumbles upon his new dumping ground or he becomes very very sloppy (doubtful he's had 10 years to perfect his ritual) then he may never be caught in a city that size where women go missing all the time.

agreed, its all so frustrating. IMO "he" has stopped killing. As far as i know there have been no other bodies found in the same manor as the GB4. And for someone to lay them all out in that way is obviously horrific, but it mustve meant something to that person, other than just quickly dumping them off in the woods. That took more time and harder work to wrap and bury them. To call and taunt family. It was evil for sure, but definitely a calculated process.

Seeing the strength of MW's daughter was overwhelming. That young lady was so brave. I couldnt imagine loosing my mother so young and then grow up learning about her murder. She and Missy really broke my heart the most because you could feel their pain. MBB has such an amazing sister that has been a tireless advocate, regardless of everything she has going on in her own life. Her statement at the end was so powerful.

There’s no train from Penn to LI I don’t believe. What was she talking about her sister going from Penn to LI?

There is absolutely a train from Penn to LI. With something close to 10 stops on the island.

If memory serves, Missy simply said that Maureen's last call to her came from Penn Station. The only time she mentioned LI was to say that Maureen's cell phone pinged from there after she went missing.

Hi everyone I'm new to this case and this website so I'm sorry if I bring something new again up. The belt initials are H M I was looking at Dr. Charles Peter Hackett when searching for his fathers name it mentioned German and the name Minero Hackett.

Penn Station is the last stop for all Westbound LIRR lines. I believe they are building a terminal in grand central, but the most common way to get to LI from the city is via Penn since most folks are coming from Manhattan.

Perhaps Maureen was given instructions by someone she had seen before. Possible he saw her in the city and build up rapport and then asked her to come out to Long Island, offering more money for an overnight. If he told her to board the train and get off at [insert station] it would explain why she would be at Penn.

This is often not discussed, how did these women get from NYC to LI? Do we think Melissa was picked up in the Bronx?

I believe it's more likely they were directed to take public transit and then were picked up somewhere on the Babylon line.

Even though VM is not a part of the Gilgo 4, I have been wondering a lot about HOW she got to LI. Hart said it was basically a one time visit for her. So its likely she didnt have a driver, she mustve also taken public transit and was lured with large amount of cash, IMO. I feel like her HOW, is really important as well.

Something that was minimally covered on the broadcast were the cellphone calls PH placed to MG after SG went missing. There were a number of calls that PH first disavowed, then acknowledged, then later ‘forgot the details’ or such.

Two days after [SG’s] disappearance, on May 3rd, her mother, [MG], would receive a call from a stranger....."Hello," said the voice on the other end. It was the voice of an older male, who gave his name freely. "My name is [PH]. I'm calling to see if your daughter [SG] is there.".....[MG] is immediately alerted to... something. She's just not sure of what. "No. Why? Who are you?" she asks.

The voice on the other end, [PH], explains that he runs a house for wayward girls. He further explains that [SG] had been with him two days beforehand, right when she went missing, and that he had taken her in off of the street after she began knocking on his door. He would also claim that he had given her something ….. to calm down and collect herself. Apparently, at that point, she went missing, leaving with her driver and not returning.

[MG] asks how this stranger got her number, to which [PH] explains that all of the people that stay with him - at his alleged halfway house - have to give an emergency contact.

This further confounds [MG], who knows that none of her family would give out her phone number to anyone. Also, she hasn't heard anything about [SG having gone] missing.

….records show that [PH] DID call [MG] from his wife's cell phone, sometime in the early afternoon of May 3rd.

[JR] also notes that the second call, made by PH five days after [SG's] initial disappearance, bounced off of a cell tower in New Jersey [near MG’s home], a place [JR] says [PH] denied traveling to that week.

I feel it unfortunate these points were not elaborated on.

Wasn't sure which thread to post this in, so I chose one of the more recent/active ones.

(I know not everyone appreciates GH, but this is for those of you who, like myself, do). :)
