Yes there have been negative comments because it was a ridiculous ruling. At least the jury was a decent one.

Eff Rafferty for saying he is not guilty. Whatever. No one cares what you think. Off to prison with you.

Victoria was 8. 25 years in sentencing (including the 10 year insult of a sentence for kidnapping and sexual assault).
Victoria should have been in her early 30s when he might be paroled?!? That is NOT a life sentence.

I find the judge taking the opportunity to defend himself and his decisions to be inappropriate. This isn't about the heat the judge took for his decisions. This is suppose to be about the victim.

If you want to discuss your great legal mind do an interview afterwards.

Murder, 25 years, Kidnapping, 10 years, sexual assault causing bodily harm, 10 years. #Rafferty forced to give DNA as well.

ALL sentences are to run concurrently. 10 years for kidnapping and the sexual assault causing bodily harm. 25 years for 1st degree

Justice Heeney calls #Rafferty a monster...tells him he is sentenced to life in prison...not eligible for parole until May 19 2034.
