I just wanted to add my contribution. The work everybody does here is just amazing. I love to work in Photoshop. So I worked on this tonight. My version of BK age regressed. I hope someone might find it helpful.

Nice work jen_renee! May I ask you your thoughts on Mr. Bovit?

How exciting to come here and see that someone else saw what I did in this guy. I am glad to see there is progress. I do agree, the noses are different, but maybe in the course of his disappearance, he did something to it. Maybe he was in a car accident, partially remembered where he lived, went back (thus the blood), but then left because the head injury and amnesia set in?

What about this guy--he was just posted in missing/identified:

Sure could be Jules. We'll see what happens here. There are definitely some compelling similiarities.

Fairy1, my opinion on Mr. Bovit is that it probably isn't BK. There are several things that stand out to me. 1) Obviously the difference in the nose. Not only is the bridge of the nose different, but also the tip. Bovit seems to be much more rounded and shorter at the tip, and BK's looks pointier and longer. 2) The spacing between the eyes is different. 3) What looks to be their natural hair part is different. 4) I also think BK's face is longer than Botvit's.

I'm an artist. I draw portraits. I have a knack for faces. My eye says that BK is not Mr. Bovit.

If I get time tonight I can overlap their faces in Photoshop, and post it.

OH MY Goodness, thank you for posting and welcome to WS!!! We are blessed to have you. What great resources we have between all of you with such keen eyes. I have some other photos of prospective matches for BK that are outside of Charley Project and Doe network. I will try to get them posted today to get all of your thoughts on potential similarities. I am waiting for the results of DNA on one of them, but I am torn regarding similarity and differences.....

JenRenee,

I see what you are saying about the nose. BK's has very distinctive nostrils. But, do you think the difference in the bridge area of the nose could be due to a loss of weight in the face? I think Mr. Bovit is the closest we have gotten so far.

And welcome to WS!

This sounds pretty far fetched, but what are the chances that BK had some facial surgery? From the pictures he looks perfectly natural to me, but I'm on expert on this stuff ........

One of the challenges I have had from the get-go is BK's weight...he was listed at 245 or so I believe when he was found and 5'11". He is actually thinner now by about 20 lbs. Most of the guys we have seen on the missing networks have run between 160 and 200 lbs. Now, I have heard and read that your nose can thin out with age, and that I believe and have witnessed. But to go from a rounded tip to a sharp tip?? To me, it looks like the bridge of BK's nose has been broken, but that is just personal opinion, not because I am a medical professional.

Correct me if I am wrong Jen Renee and Dimples, but one thing that does not change is the space between the nose and the upper lip, correct?

Thanks for the welcome!

I don't believe that the tip of his nose would differ that much from weight loss or from having it broken. The bridge could differ from having it broken, but I still don't think that it would change that much from weight loss. I also don't think the space between his nose and upper lip would change either. Hopefully I can get time to sit down tonight and work on it in Photoshop.

But the resembelence is amazing!

Anyone care to check and see if he has an older brother who is missing or otherwise unaccounted for? I am being serious-you never know what is going to break the back of this one....

I have refered to in the past this article as to the changes of physical appearances with age, for other cases I was following at the time. I think there are some things in this article that might explain some of the differences in BK and Bovit..

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/lab/fsc/backissu/april2000/taister.htm

Certain facial features in both individuals, such as the eyebrows, nose, lips, ears, and chin, are relatively stable in appearance throughout the aging process, though the nose and ears do change slightly in size and shape with age (Feik and Glover 1998; Macho 1986; Subtelny 1959).

Evidence of biological aging usually appears between the ages of twenty and thirty (Kolb 1998b; Novick 1988), with physical changes first visible in the upper portion of the face. Horizontal creases develop in the forehead and the upper eyelids begin to droop, emphasizing the superior orbital groove and causing the eyes to appear smaller and more deeply set (Kolb 1998a; Neave 1988).

Nasolabial grooves—laugh lines—and lateral orbital lines, commonly called crow's-feet, develop and deepen with increased age (Guy et al. 1977). Lines around the mouth, or circumoral striae, become apparent, and lines from the edge of the nose to the lateral part of the mouth will progressively deepen. With the onset of these changes there may also be a hollowing of the cheek area below the inferior border of the zygomatic arch, or cheekbone (Neave 1998).

By age fifty, more fine lines develop in other areas of the face, the skin becomes thinner with a tendency to sag (Macho 1986; Novick 1988), and wrinkles start to appear on the neck (Neave 1988).

Your work is amazing. Is there anyway you could do age progression? I have a picture of a boy that came up missing and I would love for you to progress him to around 25-30 years old-to see if he matches a picture of someone who is suppose to be him. I can pm you the picture. Thanks!

Fox, I can certainly give it a try.
