Not necessarily the cover-up. But, you do wonder about JF. First, you have the fabricated story of being able to read the note through the door(IMO). Then you add that he was the one that “discovered” the open butler pantry door, even though French, Reichenbach and JR all reported that all doors were locked and secured.

"Fernie seemed to recall that someone, John Ramsey he thought, had said that the doors to the home had been checked the previous evening and that all had been dead-bolted and securely locked. Ramsey had checked the doors again that morning to be certain that JonBenét had not gotten out of the house. At one point that morning, the time uncertain, but as police were processing the scene, Fernie reported that a draft was coming through the house, and he located the source: the door on the north side of the house by the Butler Pantry was standing open, and he shut it." from "Foreign Faction: Who Really Kidnapped JonBenet?" by A. James Kolar

Hmmmm. Not buying it.

Okay. I never really thought he was lying about reading the note through the door; it's interesting and possible, but why would he lie about something like that? If it's not necessarily the cover-up, do you think he was simply trying to insert himself into the case more than what he was? Trying to give himself a bigger part in it, so to speak?

Perhaps, simply trying to help a buddy out who had lost his daughter so tragically.

13 miles in 6 minutes? 130 MPH. No way. Do we know the actual distance? Had to be called before the police.

[snip]
If the Rs were concerned the kidnappers were watching the home, why not have everyone, including LE, park in the alleyway? We know the answer. There was no concern over kidnappers watching over them.
[snip]

When you use an alley for parking, you often don't visit the front yard too often. Kidnappers would have been smart enough to check the alley too. I hardly get out to the front door.

Yes, and I often wonder why he felt the need to say that 5 years later.

John Fernie gave a lot of interviews before his deposition did he?

“John Fernie told the police that he was the first of the Ramseys’ friends to arrive.”

He knew that Patsy has not called the Police after a talk with John.

Approval from John was added after the call not before.

Maybe Patsy called friends because John said that Fernie will be in a house in a minute.

I was not checking this earlier and I do not want to put misleading data into the riddle.

All above is MOO.

[edit] When White's daughter was missing Ramseys were helping to find her. I have an idea what John did in the morning before and at the time Patsy called the Police but I am still thinking about it.

btw. I think that John saw the body 1st time later. His report about this looks like a surprise he was behaving that way even for him. It is like talking of men before a birth and in a hospital at the time of birth. I know it is not a good example.

This thread is closed for discussion and it can only be used for reference.

You can discuss Mr. Fernie on the new thread RIGHT HERE

If you come upon a post that violates our rules, in other words, tries to pin the death of JonBenet on some phantom intruder or a friend of the Ramseys, please alert on that post and it will be removed.

Until the three people in the Ramsey house, that night are cleared we only discuss the possibility of how JonBenet died at the hands of one of the three.

Which one wrote the note?

Was it an accident?

That is what we focus on because there is not one piece of evidence to suggest, to even remotely hint at, an intruder.

Thanks,
Tricia
