A view from the inside: observations from our own court observers #2

Looking forward to today's report from KCL when she gets de-bra'd! LOL.

However, in the meantime, why is it that no matter how many times and no matter how many ways KatieCoolady assures posters that the jury does not believe JA's lies, that she is witnessing them be turned off of JA, and all the other juicy stuff...why is it that posters either don't believe KCL or despite being reassured day after day remain terrified and fearful? If that's the sentiment then it's time to turn off the trial and leave it all behind.

Mr. Juan and company are not worried. They're not fearful. They're not predicting failure. And they know more (much more) than we do.

Funny (in a sad and ironic way) that the 'Law of Attraction' is part of this case. Because all the negativity, fear, prediction of doom 'n gloom basically is saying to the universe, "Dear Universe, please create more evil and please let this particular murderer get away with the crime and be freed because that's my exact fear and that's what I'm thinking about and concentrating on and putting my energy into every day. Fear, evil, murder, doom. More of that please. Much, much more!"

Honestly, I think it has to do with the travesty that happened in Florida. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. I've been into this case since I first read about it, started watching it about 2 weeks ago- and I can't comprehend how Jodi's story makes sense in the least. It's so absurd, can she really think people are that dumb? But I still have about 2% worry that justice won't be served here. I guess since CA got off so easy, I think anything is possible.

Page 4

WHoredoms!!! She used that with the Lisa letter over and over.

Mother Teresa at it again with the groceries for Bobby.

Male on the back with headset spoke out loud.having trouble w/ his headset.

How disorienting to hear a VOICE come from the jury box!

Her rhythm is thrown off.

Poquito is now shaking his head as they walk out.

~~~~~~~~~~~BREAK~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm texting w/ Bill, Dr. Drew's producer about a cute guy in the courtroom (yes folks real life happens in that courtroom and that's an important topic ;)) He calls him Mr. Big. Everyone chatting all around during this technical break. JA close talking w/ Willmott interestingly the Mit. Specialist is sitting at the table behind not involved at all.
Now counsel being called back to chambers. JA sitting there all by herself. Weird to see her all alone over there. She's flipping through some kinda notebook.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~BREAK OVER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She's back on the stand now...vacant stare in to space.

Eyebrows lift as the jury door opens. Before they walk in there is a lot of loud talk and laughter on the other side of the door.

All screens are lit up as if waiting for an exhibit.

Maureen and Ponytail note taking.

All the males on the back and Barb sitting WAY back in their seats staring sternly at JA and no note taking.

Can't tell this from TV .. Katie, can the person in the witness box hear what's being said in side bar?

I've been in the courtroom a few times. While I do feel confident she will be convicted, little bits of fear and worry creep in from time to time. We can't be 100% until the clerk says "guilty".

I hope and pray none of the Pinellas 12 has moved to Maricopa county and somehow got on this jury. :-)

I believe in Juan, if anyone can get her convicted it's him. MOO

While we are waiting, I suggest everyone gets a beverage & gets rid of the bras. Ahhhhh!

I ditched that thing as soon as I got home. LOL!

Oh, one more thing, regarding why I don't (fully) trust that she will be found guilty, even with strong (eyewitness) evidence that the jury is against her... I tend not to trust what I can't see with my own eyes. I know from experience that people tend to project the way that they feel onto others. I'm not saying that anyone here has done that, mind you, but I just prefer to judge for myself. It's more of a trust thing. If it's someone that I know see things similarly to me, I then have a much easier time trusting their observations are in line with my own. If that makes sense?

I do greatly enjoy reading others observations, though, so that's why this thread is so fun.

ETA: Saying I don't trust that she will be found guilty sounds like I am saying that I think she won't be found guilty. That's not what I meant. I mean, I'm just not taking it as a given that she will be found guilty because of what people have observed, and because of what we've heard during the trial.

I get what you're saying. We need to see things with our own eyes at times because what the other person perceives may not be what you perceive. Nothing wrong with that. MOO

This is my fear as well. There are two jurors that HEARING about them worries me, but the eye witnesses are not. But I am worried about that projection. Projecting what they want and hope they are feeling. Most of the jury clearly is over her...but these one or two...IDK.

I haven't had that feeling about any of the jurors, while other observers have had concerns.

Which two are you concerned about?

I want justice for Travis, his friends and family. We DO NOT know what goes on in the minds of the jury. One individual, can throw an entire case in the toilet. I don't think "fear" is the correct word, nor do I think people should be told to turn off the trial because they aren't 1000000% confident until a verdict is read.

I DO believe KCL, but until the words GUILTY are read, I will be curious about the reactions of all involved, at the courthouse.

If we go by your theory that a guilty verdict is a guarantee, why watch at all?

Sorry for the O/T, can't wait to read Katie's notes. Thanks PASA for trying to get in today. Wish they would have let you in, don't they know you are a WS member and deserve priority?

You are so right, we don't know what goes on in the jurors minds. We may get some insight after the trial if any are willing to be interviewed.

There is no guarantee there will be a guilty verdict. But, I feel we have a good chance with Juan, and the evidence.

No worries, I will try again. I don't always get in, and that's ok. I meet interesting people and have some good conversations with others who didn't make it in.

Many of us have not had the experience with the court system and therefore are nervous not knowing what to expect. Not seeing how JM carefully laid out his rebuttal by setting Jodi up with questions he already knows the answers to. Some feel he left too many loose ends hanging. JM has not gotten to his "Let me step back a bit." lol I love the way he works and I can't wait for rebuttal because I know he will not disappoint us or the family. Then everyone will be saying they knew he was such a great prosecutor. Mark my words......wait, where did I hear that phrase?????

I've worked for many attorneys in my time. Some you love and some you......well, let's just say you wish you never met them. jmo

Very good point. I think Juan will bring it back full circle and remind the jury what the trial is about. The defense has tried to turn it into a sex-crime case, when it's murder.
Juan is also mindful of the family. I like the way he interacts with them. He may be a pit-bull to ja, but he's decent to the family. MOO

Hahahahhaaaa! I think that's what most women do the second we get in the house. Ay least I do!

Heck yes!! :) :)

I have a glass of red wine....I'm heading upstairs to bed with my iPhone to read up and my bra will be hanging on the bathroom door knob in about 7 minutes.

LOL! That's where mine is too. :)

Makes sense to me. Have you ever had someone lie to your face and hope that they just went on and on?

As in giving them enough rope? :)
In ja's case I wish she'd shut-up, I'm sick of her droning voice. :)

Because "jury reading" is not a reliable indicator of verdict.

The jury Q&A was very revealing though as to verdict.

And I don't think there is "all this negativity and doom and gloom" and "more of that please" How absurd. It's just that people want justice for Travis and this isn't just a sleuthing board; it's also a place to share fears and hopes of the outcome. And yes, doom and gloom when we're feeling low.

Thank God (and Trish) we can share those thoughts here.

IMO

I'm thankful for this place to sleuth, share, and meet like minded people.

It's a great place. MOO

Page 5

She goes through all the boyfriends and breakup blah blah but her voice changes distinctly when she gets to Travis.

Oh no, another triangle reference

Her hands look HUGE.

Willie on the end not even looking at her while she's rambling...he's looking toward the prosecution table.

CPA (sits next to wrestler) is the main juror who really captured my attention all day today. He has his head tilted way back, jutting out his chin, zero note taking. He has a look of defiance to me. He is completely over this chick.

She has strained relationships with her parents (both) and she's on trial for her life. I glanced over to her mother, no change in expression that I can see.

Floor plan/attack rundown (Jake's question...we talked about what questions we would ask).

3 male jurors on the back hand over mouth during this attack blah blah blah Same with Ponytail...she sits with her hand covering her mouth now and many other times throughout the day.

Btw, I heard they said most volume of questions came from one juror. I'm guessing it is Ponytail.

Maureen looks somber watching JA.

Flat, monotone voice describing attack scenario. Again it makes no sense..rehearsed.

I so agree with you about the camera and the way she answers with partial truths. It is like she has her own little sick coded phrases and words that help her remember where in her script she needs to pick up a lie and run with it. She has done this in the interviews with Det. Flores, on the stand in testimony.

She had so many inconsistancies today, too many to mention but one that stands out is that she testified earlier she found the gun while cleaning in August of 2007, now she testified it was Oct. or Nov.

How can she remember emotions in these "fogs" but not actions... I call BS and I feel that the jurors questions, at least most of them, were calling BS.

She was right about one thing, she can't even keep track of her own lies.

Really looking forward to hearing from the court room observers

THANK YOU! I thought I was hearing things. Hole JM will get her on this or the jury for any additional questions!

Page 3

It would be awesome for ease of reading if you guys could refrain from comments/questions until all the notes are entered. I have a lot today. If I had the patience to sit in that courtroom today with that demon you surely can wait for my notes. Hand spanking hour over with now. ;)

Oh I spoke with Harold when I got there who was nice as always. Also Tanisha who seems ok. Jake was saying how hard this must be for them and they all kind of shrugged. My sense is there is a sense of desensitization going on right now with them. A sophisiticated and good coping mechanism I think.

There is a strange echo in the courtroom right now. The sound is definitely different.

I've decided to not document all the questions as you heard/saw them and they will all be on here. So I focused more on the "color" going on in the courtroom.

She's so rehearsed now to answer without hearsay. She uses all the appropriate terms. I would say REHEARSED is the theme of the day.

Very few jurors taking notes .

She's coming across as confident.
"bedroom curriculum"??? WTH is that?

Blames everything on Travis..as usual.

She's totally rehearsed, anticipating these questions.

Paul Rudd is all dressed up today. He is in casual business attire and he usually wears sweats.

Men on the back row not buying it.

WTH is all this "edify" BS?

CEO tapping his hand on his notebook during the Leslie Udy story bs (he's seemed irritated all week..totally new with him)

Maureen taking notes.
Can see JA talking with her hands over the stand.

Males on the back have their heads cocked back..no one looks sympathetic, the opposite.

Way more animated today (JA)
Underwear special to her from a man she murdered who "attacked her".

Demon robot.

Hi Katie: glad you mentioned "bedroom curriculum'-- i was huh? WTH is that??? unreal, just unreal. Thanks for your insights. so appreciated.

Page 6

ZERO jurors taking notes during recitation of events of the murder.

Maureen looks, to me, angry listening to this crap.

I can't see tri color but no note taking on the back row regarding the camping trip.

"a new side of what a man could do" OK

Her hands are very visible back there...lots of expression....she is very animated and seems to be loving this.

Interesting she's so descriptive with her hands talking about a myspace page and demonstrating how the page moves up using her hands to describe it but nothing like that when talking about the murder, holding the gun, jumping up and grabbing it, pushing travis aside etc.

She's loving this

Blaming gas cans on Darryl.

Page 7

These questions are good. I'm glancing around and see people (for the State side) quietly nodding.

She's showing the jury she has a manufactured answer for everything. During this it's very obvious. She is totally animated and with a crystal clear memory including very remote details.

Ooohhh someone is nailing her to details of the murder. I think at this point we are hearing a list of questions from Ponytail. Why? Just my gut feeling.. These feel like "lady" questions.

Willie holds his notebook but takes no notes.

Her denial re: upset re: Cancun rings false. What female sleeping with a man is going to be completely unaffected by their taking another woman on a luxury paid vacation? That's not credible.

Flowers! B****~!

Ponytail writing a lot to these questions ...I still think they are hers (and they are good ones).

Head tilt on males in the backrow increasing. Almost all of them adopting this posture. Head back, chin out. These males are NOT on her side. Even CEO is tapping his pen on his pad and restless. He again seems SUPER annoyed as I saw the other day.

Her answers sound totally rehearsed.

Males are not buying ANY of it.

Hi Honeys I'm home.

Popped off the bra and also a bottle of what I believe is a pretty expensive bottle of Old Vine Zinfandel that someone brought as a gift. Can you all just pat yourselves on the back here for a moment and say you're worth it? Cuz I sure think you are. So.....here we go....

I get to the courthouse and there's my girl PASA over there. Let me tell you, PASA texts me all day when I'm not able to attend court sessions so she's been my go to person for weeks now. Three cheers for PASA! Let's all give her a pat on the back while we're at it.

Awww, thanks! I'm happy to do it. :blushing::blushing:

I walk in right along side jurors Barb and Poquito (reminder I use Anita Richman's nicknames some of which I've forgotten but will refer to as there were some real standout jurors today).

I get upstairs and realize DAMMIT I've forgotten my journal (for taking notes) so hoof it back downstairs in my heels to walk a block away to grab it and back in . This time though I get to walk in with Beth who gives me a big hug and I also run in to my buddy Jake who's admonished by a Judge in the security line for talking about the case. Jake and I both get in the elevator with Tri color and he makes a joke with her. Jake is very gregarious and funny.

I'm glad you got in with the family. I was holding your seat by me just in case you didn't.

SO....we make it in to the courtroom. We almost don't get seats as it's pretty packed on T's side. Which is good...we want it packed there. I see many new faces journalist wise. Some TV guy I don't know but he looks like MR. Big from SATC. swoon

I saw him come in and out of the court room a couple of times. I thought he was nice looking too.

So I'm sitting there getting organized as usual. Water, mints, journal, lip gloss and someone taps me on the shoulder from behind. I'm in the second seat in on the second row by the wall. I turn around only to see THE MAN himself Mr. Juan Martinez flashing me a smile asking if it's ok if his friend takes the seat next to me. He jokes and says "take good care of him now".then he makes a joke with Jake who he knows personally. I'm sort of stunned. I introduce myself to the friend (talk to him more later) and immediately log on to tell you guys of my close encounter with Sr. Martinez.

Wow, that is so cool! I'd probably have a heart attack. :) He appeared to be in a good mood today.

Swoon again............ok will leave it on that before the next page and in the meantime find my lost cursor which isn't even on this page........:seeya:

BlueBBM

Thank you, can't wait for the next post. :)

Jean c said on ng that these questions were in Jodie's favor?

I would say "what trial is she watching" but I did see her come out of the courtroom to take a phone call and later leave to do the TH shows.

Maybe she's told to take ja's side?? Dunno, am stumped on that one.

Paul Rudd has his left leg (one toward Jodi) crossed over the knee of his right leg and he keeps tapping tapping that left foot. He's irritated it seems. Each time she serves up a BS answer, his foot taps. These men are OVER this demon.

This is all such BS. Her answers/excuses re: the lies don't even make sense.

She doesn't remember if the gun had a holster or not? Oh please.

Why is it you have no memory stabbing Travis?

QUESTION OF THE DAY.

ok so now the "innocent" comment related to God? Neil now has his hand over his mouth.

WIllie looking down and away from her almost the entire time. He's over it.

She's done..this is all over now. I don't think she has a chance at LWOP at this point as she's lied to this jury now to their faces and they don't believe her.

(these are direct from my notes guys)

Let's not go :offtopic: of the Jodi Arias trial and please keep this thread for questions and answers of our courtroom observers.

A BIG thank you to our observers and all you do! :hug:

TIA

*This post lands and random.*

Page 9 (I think)

Gas can issue--CA vs. Utah to fill up.

These jurors are noticing the same things we are....smart jury.

Another question just landed in the juror basket. After gas can response. CPA looks at her with disdain.

The Artist has his arms folded across his chest , low chin in hand along with every other male on the back row now. Chin in hands...all down the line.

Poquito though just looks down at the ground almost the entire time.

Maureen / Ponytail the only ones note taking but that has diminshed a lot from other days. Not consistent.

Most people at the courthouse are more confident toward conviction after today. At least those I talked to.

Phew!

Sincerely, you made my night!

I feel sooo much better!

Now I gotta go back and see what you observed today.

You're the best! :)

Page 10

Now they are just calling her out on her lies blatantly.

No one is taking notes re: her injured "ankles". Was he grabbing at her while he was down? :(

So rehearsed this story.

Only Ponytail taking notes that I can see.

Didn't she say she put the knife in the dishwasher?

Question why was she so calm on TV interviews..this answer is 100% rehearsed.

Now another juror (Paul Rudd?) places a question in the basket.

Because she lies to EVERYONE that's why. (i wrote that in response to why didn't she tell Ryan re: the AZ detour).

Law of Attraction vs. Law of Chastity

She thought she was following the Law of Chastity...WTH??? Ridiculous.

Page 11

she has such a quick answer to everything..comes across as disingenuous.

She spins recording the sex phone call to Law of Attraction...my head is dizzy over that one.

~~~~~~~~~~~BREAK~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Jake is giving me hairstyle tips for Ricki Lake show.
Katie thinks this is all strong for the State--the questions. She's just blown away with how strong it all is. She is very perceptive and I really listen to her insights.
She said one question that came across was from tri color..she saw it passed. She calls this juror "two tone"
I was behind JA's mother/sister in line for the bathroom. That crazy Gypsy lady was out there barging in to everyone's personal space, speaking inappropriately about the trial while JA's family in teh br then when they cam eout of the stalls acted all caring toward them. She's freakin nuts. I avoid her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~BREAK OVER~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jm's friend left on the break leaving the seat in front of me empty helping my view. :)

She calls herself "too trusting" and Neil cracks a smile and looks down. That was a great catch that I caught. ;)

Your posts make me feel so confident there will be a conviction with DP.

Thank you SO much for going to court and taking such great notes for every one here to get a look inside the court room. You are an asset!

:yourock::tyou:

Page 12

This jury is just nailing her on her lies.

Willie only glances up at her very briefly then looks back down or out. The entire time.

Her answers are sinking her sunken ship.

Oooh smart question re: putting Travis before her, then why didn't she call 911 to help him? That question seemed more like a statement than a true interest in her lying answer.

Her answers indicate she's so prepared...they flow very quickly. The ones she's not prepared for are stunted. She felt fraudulent as time went on? WTH???

Male jurors are NOT buying this pedo stuff. At all.
