a view from the inside: observations from our own court observers #3

Katie is the regular "Dr. Drew's Juror" on his show each night. She has to stand in line for a seat in the public gallery like anyone does. She gets up early (5am) to get to court on time every day..she has really made a sacrifice for this trial and I do hope she gets "discovered" in some way from this to work with the legal system as some kind of correspondent. I think she is very perceptive for a 27 year old and an all around nice and compassionate person. I really like her.

So no she's not guaranteed a seat. The producer usually scans the gallery and picks a different "juror" for each night. There is a line to get in the public seats every day now. PASA knows way more about how the process goes down. I sit with the family.

Your post was very helpful, as I had a question about getting in. I have been really debating on trying to go. I live in North Georgia, but my parents live in Pheonix, and have been asking me to come visit. (and yes, they know I want to see the trial. They golf all day, and would be thrilled that I have something to do besides shop! LOL They actually live in an area called Surprise AZ or SCG - a suburb I guess)

So for you trial attendees - do you think as time goes on seats will be easier? Or harder? to get.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Touché! funnee... I missed that one...

But who is going to be cast for Gypsy Woman/Leopard Lady? :giggle:

For the Gypsy woman it could be Cher. She could sing "Gypsies Tramps and Thieves" during sidebars. For the Leopard lady I'd suggest Chester Cheetah.

Hello everyone. New poster here. I had to come out of my lurking. I am quite curious as to what this woman will say to defend Jodi. I wonder if Jodi has been able to CON her. I am thinking that Jodi has spent some time with other prisoners who have been abused and has taken snippets of things they have said and tied them into her relationship with Travis. Jodi seems to have spent a lot of time rehearsing for her "big day(s)" on the stand. The problem that she runs into is that once Mr. Juanderful crosses the defense witnesses he turns them into prosecution witnesses. :moo:
I do not think that Jodi was ever abused by Travis. I believe she abused him. She definitely snooped, tormented, broke into his email accounts, broke into his house, etc. She completely stalked him. That saddest thing to me is that he didn't realize how very dangerous she really was. I also think based on his childhood that he really wanted to help her. He really truly was a good friend and an amazing man. It's so sad that he ever met Jodi. I feel so horrible for his family and I pray for them daily. They are such amazing people and I respect them immensly for standing there every day and fighting for justice for their brother.
Thank you KCL and Pasa for your court room observations. They really mean a lot to many of us. I would love to go down and sit in court one day, but I don't want to intrude... so please tell the family that there are many of us who are there with them in spirit every day. I pray for Mr. Juanderful also. My prayers are that Jodi gets what is coming to her and that the people fighting for Travis and those who miss and love him are given strength and know in their hearts that justice will prevail.
(Sorry this is scatterbrained. I have so many things I wanted to post, but I don't think this is the right place for it.)

KCL- I am praying for you too. You are an extremely strong person, and I am sure your sister is proud of you.

:goodpost: :welcome:

Make sure you put the camera on the delicate cycle. :floorlaugh: :blushing:

I have been lurking along with others for a while and think this is probably the most insightful web spot concerning this case I have found. Mesa and Katie I not only enjoy reading your court room insider updates and posts but they give me and others a view beyond the live stream which gives a more complete perspective of the case then any of the talking heads.

JA is probably one of the most frustrating yet fascinating sociopathic personalities out there and I highly suspect there is a lot more going on inside that head then anyone of us is aware of. IMO she ranks equally if not on par with Ted Bundy and a few others famous serial killers in regards to her behavior and thinking process. I suspect JA has no real idea of "who" she actually is and I find it interesting that she has no real female friends at all, just men. I know in my own experience I have known one particular female at one time or another in my life I just felt something was very off about them. The kind you just could not form any type of connection with who seemed so superficial and fake. That one woman that you knew you could not trust around your husband or BF and not because you did not trust them so much but the fact you knew you could not trust her.

If you watch her closely on the stand her eyes and her mouth speak differently. Try covering up on section of her face and focus on that alone such as her mouth area, and vice versa and see what you observe.

She went from religion to religion testing the waters based on what the person she was interested in was interested in and morphs herself into what she feels with get her foot into a door, and oddly it works because she is able to take what ever she is currently interested in and digest the information and appear well versed in it. Based on her performances on the stand she thinks she is an expert in everything. I am not really amazed at how she is able to manipulate so many men in this case either because I am sure if you sat them down and got to know their life history you would find that none of them actually have good self esteem deep inside for what ever reason. Men hide their insecurities differently then women do and she like any predator who lacks in real emotions is able to pick up on signals normal people might not in her "victims".

IMO Travis was actually a victim of DV, Jodi has twisted his story for her own needs is all. No woman that was abused that I have ever known, to include myself, behaves like she is. Her claims of abuse disgust me and all she did was educate and morph her story to the point she actually believes she is a victim of abuse. Then to make it even better you have the few people she is able to manipulate currently feeding into her story which adds to her victim role. That's what even sicker. She believes herself and has convinced herself and no one will ever tell her otherwise. Ted Bundy claimed his innocence as well, he was a lost soul just as JA is.

Thank you all for your insightful postings and keeping others like myself informed a bit better then the media! BTW Matt McCartney screwed himself in all this because he was stupid enough to post on a website that he would lie for Jodi, etc.....Not a really bright thing to do....loose lips sink ships as they say....

Hopping off my fence post now and Juan is probably the worst thing that ever happened to JA!:seeya:

Hi, new member here with a few courtroom questions....

Some of us have tuned in late.

Who is the man sitting next to Juan Martinez?

Who is the woman seated behind the Defense team?

Where is the family seated?
(courtroom layout as seen on live Internet)

What is referred to as "the gallery?"

Thanks for everyone reporting back/answering questions.

:welcome:

It's hard to say. There have been days I thought it would be packed, stayed home and saw a row of empty seats on the feed.

If you decide to come out check out my tips in the first thread. If you go, LMK and I'll try to go that day too, if you like. :)

Cher as Gypsy Woman... I totally had that thought first, too!

I kid you not! :floorlaugh:

Will JM bring up that Tesoro isn't open for anything, but gas at that time?
Not until JA remembers she bought 5.9 gallons of ice cream and some pop rocks there. :great:

Quick question about donations: The strangest thing just happened. In all the years I've used Paypal I've never had them initiate a call to me but they just did - questioning whether or not I authorized a payment to The Travis Alexander Legacy Fund. I confirmed that I had and that was that but now I'm hoping I used the right link and didn't accidentally send money where I shouldn't have. I used the link from this page to donate: https://www.facebook.com/TravisAlexanderFund?ref=ts&fref=ts&filter=2 That's correct, isn't it? The email associated with the recipient account is "[email protected]."

It looks like that organization name in the email addy may the same one that was opened by Chris Hughes on Feb 18th of this year for raisingyoufoundation.org. So that should be fine, I think. I can PM you the phone number for that if you like (it's public info, but I hate folks posting personal phone numbers).

Paypal should also have a phone number for the person that you can call. I bet it's Chris Hughes. Give him a call and make sure :)

34 Hours and counting...........

Greetings to all, and a big howdee doo to all the new peeps.

Just for fun, I wonder if some of the gallery attendees might give us a little
tug on their earlobe from time to time.
Sort of an homage to Carol Burnett and her Grandmother.
It'd be fun to see y'all give WS a big 'ol ear tug ~I wub you~ live by satellite..
and cause puzzlement to viewers as to why half the gallery has swimmers ear.
Keep this under your hats, tho, we don't want to cause any ripples in the proceedings.
I'm only a month into this case and I'm trying to catch up on all the minutia, reading into the wee hours till my brain feels like it's fizzing out my ears.
lI so appreciate the massive library of information that has been compiled, and I thank all, for their efforts, as does my fizzy brain.
I'm glad we can all climb into the Mystery Machine together.
Have a great week all and I'll be a'lurkin' on Wednesday.
< quiver of anticipation>.

Whoa, I took a nap and got some stuff done. I am getting back my life, simply. Wednesday better hurry!
