It's the timing of it, which goes to aiding and abetting Casey. Would you be doing those things the day you found out positively your granddaughter was dead???? I really wouldn't care if the A's went there for their anniversary or some other occasion, but living it up high on the hog the day you find out your granddaughter is dead is high inappropriate, IMO!

LisasK with all due respect please indicate to the readers when you snip one of my posts please? Thank you.

I just looked at the menu for Norman's. Being a vegetarian, I would starve there if I didn't eat off the dessert menu. But I digress.

Anyway, from everything I've read, ABC didn't even get their interview.

Yet. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Any attorney would advise them to keep their trap shut about the case for now.

Thank you for the link, it answered my question.

Rooms go for about $300 a night at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and sources say they Anthonys had dinner at Normans on Thursday night, where dinner could cost $100 a person. The Anthonys recently hired attorney Brad Conway to replace Mark NeJame.

We have a Ritz and a Norman's here - and it's a pretty classy and private restaurant. In short, I don't see a problem with it. The grandparents have been to hell and back, and could have used some rest. I'm sure it wasn't a party for them.

Best,

Melanie

I'm looking at a menu from Norman's that has the prices. It looks like the main plates cost around $38, although one does cost $48. Appetizers cost around $9.

Okay. The Anthony's met with a lawyer, some family members, a couple of nefarious characters who latched onto this case for their own glorification and a producer from an ABC show the day they were informed that the body of a small child was found 1600 feet from their backyard. They had dinner with these people and stayed 2 nights at the Ritz Carlton Orlando.

"A small child's remains have been found in the woods near your house." is followed up by going to dinner with a producer for a national network.

I guess it could all be innocent and just largesse on the part of the network. Yeah. I can see that. It was all totally innocent and circumstantial. The where and the what-they-ate are not important. But as in so many other things, the Anthony family's timing draws the speculation to them. Again it goes down to what others would do in a similar situation, and since few of us can claim to be members of that "club" we again are left to assume that there is something odd with them meeting with a producer after being informed that a small child's remains had been found so close to their home, and that a search warrant was currently being executed in that home.

I'm sure there's an innocent explanation somewhere.

What an excellent post, Debs!!:clap::clap:

Er, Chilly, we were discussing the Anthonys here. Please, stay on topic. Thx.

Oops, sorry. I suppose my response to your off topic post was, indeed, off topic. I'll try harder, thanks.

Are you joking? The Ritz in Orlando? Grande Lakes? That is no normal hotel with medium priced food, esp. at Normans. I recently stayed at the Ritz with my beloved for a special anniversary weekend, and we ate at Normans. The hotel and grounds are very luxurious, with all kinds of amenities.Normans, the restaurant, is very far from medium priced food: he is a world renowned chef specializing in fine dining, so it isn't medium priced.
BTW, todays Orlando Sentinel refers to the Ritz as "Orlando's most expensive hotel" where rooms go "from $249-$739/night."

I can't think of anyone in their situation not saying -- oh please, not the Ritz, we can't comprehend that kind of luxury at this moment. Honestly, they are a common family, not jetsetters. To stay at the height of grandeur (for Orlando anyway) is gross. Even if they thought no one would ever know, it's still gross. Not to mention the entourage of business associates. The whole thing is gross.

No, actually, I don't. In my opinion George thinks it makes him "special" somehow. I believe he thinks it's his ticket to a new job, more credibility, or some such. I guess the statement of his that really bothers me is (paraphrase), WE OUR WATCHING THE PEOPLE/KIDNAPPERS WHO HAVE CAYLEE.

Now what in 'ell does that mean? George, in my opinion, needs to join the Club Reality, not "find himself" fronting for KFN.

My opinion only

Wholeheartedly agree.

I feel like the media is courting the A family. Looking for "the insider" story. Sensationalizing at every turn. I don't have a problem if the media pays for a few things along the way because of course the family shouldn't have to pay for certain things out of courtesy (i.e., the missing Caylee T-shirts, flyers, etc). However, besides financing items which would directly help "find" Caylee, there is no need for the family to be flying around the country giving interviews, or doing anything except truly searching for their loved one. TAX dollars were used for how long to look for Caylee? How many more TAX dollars are going to be used to finance the trial and possibly a sequestered jury or change of venue (or both). I hope legislature comes out that prohibits the purchase of the photos or payment for interviews in any shape or form. Let's just consider crime families like college athletes. No profit off crime. The media pays for the pics/interviews and profits by obtaining more viewers and sponsors.

The A's are not a "crime family'. Casey is a criminal. The rest of the A's are a "victim family."

My bad, families that are victim's of crimes.....

I'd put them in the category of a crime family. But of course, that's just my opinion.

No I do not know that they dined lavishly...my bad.

But what do I expect them to do??????? Not stay at the Ritz on somebody else's dime. They have family in the area, they could have stayed with them.

I do believe they were "whopping it up". IMO they had known for a LONG while that Caylee was dead, murdered by her mother.

The only family in the area that I'm aware of is Cindy's elderly mother and Cindy's father in an assisted care facility. Would you really want to lead the press into the yards of your elderly parents??

As for 'whooping it up', I doubt very seriously they've whooped since their granddaughter disappeared.

There are many actions that you can honestly dispise the Anthony family for. This ain't one, at least in my humble opinion.

Chilly? We've done this before, haven't we?

Some said that about poor George when he checked himself into the roach motel in Daytona Beach.

These people are flogged no matter what they do.

It boggles the mind. I noticed a post earlier that accused Chilly of defending every little thing. The issue of finding a counterpoint doesn't come into play until every little thing is being relentlessly picked apart.

It's like deja vu all over again. :)

Me too. Why not stay at Lee's house or some extended family. I would want to be with my mother or brother, someone besides a couple of attys, a couple PIs, a spokesperson and a someone from ABC and a hotel full of strangers..

And have media trucks and klieg lights and possibly protestors outside in the front yard? Come on. The Ritz offered interior rooms and privacy. And they had Lee with them. I rilly, rilly doubt they interfaced much with the other hotel guests.

Oh, I don't believe anyone said they did "interface with the other hotel guests". I guess it just strikes some as odd that they had "nothing but the best" on the day their granddaughters body, dumped in a garbage bag in a swamp, was found. Guess the comparison might bother some people. Even if they only ate hamburger and drank water, that's one hamburger and glass of water Caylee will never have. REMEMBER, her SKULL rolled out of that GARBAGE bag and there wasn't any food in it, nor were her bones reclining on a soft, expensive bed.

My opinion only.
