Dear Friends,
Many thanks to all who have already sent their letter protesting the consideration of parole for offender Abigail Young. In 2009, Young gave her live-in boyfriend, accused pedophile Lucas Coe access to her 3 young daughters. As a registered nurse, she had access to drug cabinets in medical facilities where she was employed and this allowed her to procure drugs for her and Coe to use as well as to sedate her daughters allowing Coe free rein to sexually abuse them without any resistance. Her 4-year-old daughter Emma was so viciously abused - physically and sexually - she succumbed to her horrific injuries. At her autopsy, it was determined that Emma had over 80 contusions, a split lip, cracked ribs, a hairline skull fracture, a 4" laceration on the back of her skull (which Young closed with super glue!), a ruptured spleen and severe tears to her vaginal wall. Young bleached the evidence after bathing Emma's body and did not call 911 from her car until she was sure Coe had had enough time to leave her house and get away. She has never once admitted her complicity or taken responsibility for her role in this vicious behavior. She has never once expressed regret or remorse and even when signing away her parental rights following her trial, she glibly shrugged and announced, "I'll just get IVF when I get out".
For his part in this heinous and vicious crime, Lucas Coe received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Young got 20 years; her full sentence will be served in July, 2030. There is still time to send a letter if you would like to protest the possibility of parole for violent offender Abigail Young. E-mailed letters have been sent from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France and Greece. Our family would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. Please e-mail your letter today or as soon as possible.
Many thanks,
Laurie Thompson (Lilypad 74)

Only 20 years??!!? What are the terms of her release for 2030? Will she be a RSO? She cannot be around children ever again.

I just sent in my email asking they not release her. I am horrified over this case. I cannot imagine, as a mom of 2 daughters, allowing anyone to hurt my babies - EVER! I pray that these letters work.

(Snipped from Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Inmate: Young, Abigail Elizabeth)

Last Parole Decision:

Denied on 02/19/2026

DMS (02/2027)- Deny release to Discretionary Mandatory Supervision and set for next review.

Denial reason(s): 2D, 9D1, 9D2

2D NATURE OF OFFENSE
- THE RECORD INDICATES THE INSTANT OFFENSE HAS ELEMENTS OF BRUTALITY, VIOLENCE, ASSAULTIVE BEHAVIOR, OR CONSCIOUS SELECTION OF VICTIM'S VULNERABILITY INDICATING A CONSCIOUS DISREGARD FOR THE LIVES, SAFETY, OR PROPERTY OF OTHERS, SUCH THAT THE OFFENDER POSES A CONTINUING THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY.

9D1 DISCRETIONARY MANDATORY SUPERVISION - THE RECORD INDICATES THAT THE OFFENDER'S ACCRUED GOOD CONDUCT TIME IS NOT AN ACCURATE REFLECTION OF THE OFFENDER'S POTENTIAL FOR REHABILITATION.

9D2 DISCRETIONARY MANDATORY SUPERVISION - THE RECORD INDICATES THAT THE OFFENDER'S RELEASE WOULD ENDANGER THE PUBLIC.

Parole denial for Abigail Elizabeth Young is continued Justice for Emma Thompson!

This pic of precious Emma Thompson was Emma's last Easter on earth. It was Easter Sunday on April 12, 2009 at the family ranch in Brenham, TX.

This is a pic of a happy Emma before her mother, a Registered Nurse at the time, Abigail Elizabeth Young, brought Lucas Ruric Coe into Emma's life.

Almost 2 months after this pic was taken, Emma was brutally raped and beaten to death by Lucas Ruric Coe, Young's much younger lover with a criminal background.

Young was very aware of the fact that Coe had a case pending against him in Montgomery County for sexual assault of a child under 6 years old.

His previous girlfriend lived in Montgomery County and she had a little boy who was almost 6 years old. Coe raped him several times. When the mother discovered what happened, she filed charges against Coe. This brave little boy who was maybe 10 in 2010 when Coe's trial took place, testified against Coe, in Coe's Sentencing Phase of his trial.

Of course, he was with a lady from Texas Children's who had been instrumental in his mental/emotional recovery. He is the most precious, sweetest little boy and my heart broke for him for what Coe did to this innocent child.

At the time, Coe's 4 year old daughter was in the custody of his mother. Coe could not have any contact with her because he raped her too! Sick and disgusting!

The Prosecutor who was seeking justice for Emma Thompson on behalf of the State of Texas, Colleen Barnett, was amazing in questioning this little boy. She developed a rapport with him quickly and it was obvious he trusted her. The Defense Attorney representing Lucas R. Coe declined to question the little boy.

SPECIAL THANKS!

I want to thank every one who took the time to write a letter opposing parole for Abigail Young.
Every letter has to be read by the members of the Texas Board of Pardons & Paroles that are reviewing Young for Parole. Young was placed in Parole Review status on December 2, 2025.
Your letters are important and instrumental in keeping Young in prison until she serves every second of her sentence. Precious, innocent Emma Thompson did not get a second chance. Young should not be allowed a second chance until she serves her sentence in full.
There were letters from all over the world opposing Young's parole. There are active Child's Advocates from all over the United States that reached out to their 'followers' and requested letters be written to oppose parole for Young. They were asked to "Share" the post and ask their family, friends and followers on Facebook or X (formerly Twitter) to please write a letter opposing parole for Young. Tricia Arrington Griffith owns Websleuth's, a worldwide true crime forum with over a million members worldwide. She set up a special thread and encouraged all members to write a letter and oppose parole for Young. She interviewed Laurie Thompson, Emma's paternal grandmother & Thompson family spokesperson. I will post a link to the interview in Comments.
We know there were thousands of letters written. Without your help and you being a "voice" for precious Emma Thompson, more than likely Abigail Young would have been released on parole long ago. I know Laurie Thompson, Emma's dad, and the Thompson family are most appreciative of every letter and they are very grateful to all of you.

Without your letters, it would be hard to keep Abigail Elizabeth Young in prison. In September, 2026, Young will have served 16 years of her 20 year sentence.

Young's projected release from prison is 7/08/2030. It is the day she will have served her 20 year sentence for her part in Emma's murder.

Immediate family such as Laurie Thompson, paternal grandmother and Thompson family spokesperson, her husband and her son, Emma's dad, testify in front of the Texas Board of Pardons & Paroles in Austin, TX. They are the last to testify. Andy Kahan, Child's Advocate and Director of Victim Services - Crime Stoppers of Houston, always testifies on the same day as the Thompson's.

Within a day of the Thompson's testimony as why Abigail Young should not be granted parole, the TBPP makes their decision and notifies the family and the people that are signed up with Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Victim Services.

Emma's maternal family testifies against Parole for Young prior to the Thompson family. Amanda Young Mathews, Emma's aunt and Abigail Young's sister testifies and opposes parole for Young.

Emma Thompson's maternal grandmother supports Abigail and does not testify opposing parole for Abigail Elizabeth Young.

There are 2 neighbors of Young's that testify against parole for Young every year. One lived next door and the other across the street from Young.

The one next door fed the girls often and she is the one who saw Emma in the front yard with Young and with only panties on the day before Emma was raped and murdered.

She asked Abby why was Emma's panties stained in blood. Young told her that Emma scraped her privates when getting out of the pool.

The neighbor testified in court that many times the girls came over to play with her girls and they asked for something to eat because they were hungry.

Young was not taking care of her children like a mother should.

When Emma's dad found out Young was having an affair, he filed for divorce and moved out. He saw all 3 girls every week-end and they would stay with him and his parents. Until the divorce was final, he did not want to buy another home until after the divorce so he moved in with his parents. He was at the time and is a very successful CPA.

Abigail had one girl from a previous marriage and 2 girls with her 2nd husband.

Laurie Thompson has gone to great lengths to protect the identity of the 2 girls. They were small children at the time and she ensured that mainstream media and others did not have the identity or pictures of the 2 surviving girls. The media respected her requests.

Fly high, precious Emma! If Emma was alive, she would be 21 years old on 3/29/26.

Thank you @Ann-Tx for updating us on this! I am THRILLED this monster was denied parole! Every time I read about little Emma I am sickened at the abuse she suffered. I am also driven to tears to simply hear she and her sisters were hungry and not being cared for.

PLEASE keep us updated when it comes time for her next parole review. I was more than happy to write a letter opposing her parole this time, and I will be happy to write a letter opposing her parole again, when it comes up! It is the BEST usage of my time!

I'm sorry Emma, sorry you had the bad luck to be birthed by this horrible person. I'm sorry you lost your childhood and your future and didn't have the life you deserved.

This article is from KWHI - AM radio in Brenham, TX.

Brenham is Abigail Elizabeth Young's hometown. Young's sister, Amanda Young Mathews was interviewed for this article.

Amanda testified against her sister. She supported her precious niece, Emma. Her mother wanted her to lie to law enforcement and support Abigail. Amanda refused.

Amanda & Abigail's mother supported Abigail as the case unfolded and during her trial.

To this day, the maternal grandmother supports Abigail Elizabeth Young.
