Access To FBI Lab Tests May Be Denied

--------------
This may be why much of the testing was done at the Body Farm. There was mention of Caylee and in the article they stated that evidence is sent to more than one Lab to make sure the findings are correct. It is a very interesting read, just search Body Farm.I found the article on (UGH) maggots, blowflies etc. to be very informative.I spent a whole evening reading! Take care,Nore

We must have been posting at the same time.

There are other things they can tell too, but I am not sure how much is publicly available, so I will just pass on those for now until I can find out.

If I read the reports correctly in the media, everything was sent out to 3 labs. The Body Farm, the FBI and a forensic lab in Florida.

Just makes me appreciate the work of the OCSO even more. They have done a fantastic job on this case. Leaving nothing to chance is key here for a conviction.

They really have done an outstanding job. They checked and cross-checked everything from what I have read. They took no chances any one lab could be discredited and used the top labs in the country.

I am just in awe of how methodical and thorough they have been throughout this entire case. People in that area should be very proud of their efforts.

great find however it was published in 97 so they have had almost 11 years to clean up there act...

In 11 years there have been over a hundred new design machines to test evidence. Testing today is very sophisticated and even minute pieces can be tested where even 3 years ago they would have been lost for the prosecution's case.

If they have even ONE fiber or piece of grass they can do extensive testing.

There was a case in Chattanooga, Tn where they convicted a man of murder because of the type of soil they found on the body and his shoes. That was of course, not all the evidence, but that led them to where the murder occurred (he had been moved 30 miles) and at the murder scene 2 years later they got DNA and other things which led them back to the murderer. The Body Farm was instrumental in that one also.

Could the FBI possibly be involved because of her "kidnapping" claim?

I believe so; especially when Casey started spouting that Caylee could be in Texas, Georgia, Mexico, and PR. Taken across state lines makes it a federal matter.

Casey's lies have not served her well at all. How could she possibly think that LE, inlcuding the FBI would buy into her lies? Unbelievable!

Don't forget it was KC herself who insisted that she would speak to the FBI but not to LE. She never did either but, there you have it!

Because she'd never yet had anyone NOT buy into her lies! Up until now, everyone had just passively accepted them as the truth!

She figured she'd pull the standard Casey/Cindy "dazzle 'em with BS" MO, and while LE was chasing their tails over all the fake info she fed them, she'd happily waltz away and pick up her life she left off. Minus one child.

Your so right Pink Panther......Casey refused to speak to the OLE & requested the FBI & said she'd tell them everything. She didn't & she asked for them & here they are.......

I think Kobe? on NG or one of the other talking head lawyers have already brought up this issue. I wish I could remember where I heard it - but I am pretty sure it was on NG, because I don't think JB has gone that route - yet!

Oh yes Koby has already said the fbi makes errors etc. He spouted that off on NG a few weeks back. JB doesn't need to go that route yet as he has Koby planting seeds left and right. Koby was the one saying he was worried about the chloroform as it's used in testing procedures in labs. At this point I have to have faith that what they have will bring her down, I'm sure justice for Caylee will prevail.

liltigress, this is another great find!

I would like to know also.....why it the FBI lab doing the testing? or is this normal?

FBI can become involved after 24 hours, in any kidnapping case (Lindberg law.

The As reported Caylee kidnapped.

But doesn't it have to prove to be a federal crime for them to stay involved?
Could just the claim of a kidnap be a federal crime?

Yes. The A's opened the door with their kidnapping claim. The feds scooted on through, and STAYED! Go feds!

I know they've been on the case since the beginning. But I thought the state was handling the forensic testing. I didn't realize they'd sent it all to a federal lab.

This kinda makes the case that much more confusing. I wonder what federal charges they could be coming up with.

Crossing state lines?
Wire fraud?

Things like that...

Claim of kidnapping is enough, s/p Lindberg law. Because, per that law, it is PRESUMED that a kidnapping victim has been/could have been transported across a state line or to another country after 24 hours.

I'll bet they're testing, double testing and even triple testing to prove their case.

It's going to be a much stronger case if more than one lab yields the same results. This will also stick a cork in JB's pie hole.

They SAID they triple-tested. Good on them!

Let's see Kobi decry the FBI labs.

They said they used three labs.

That's good to know-- especially since they keep referring to the Body Farm evidence as "cutting edge" science, which can be a hinderance with respect to getting evidence admitted.

Does anyone know how often Body Farm air sample tests have been used as evidence in Florida cases??
