Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

The Telegraph reported that the decision was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

Yep. It's probably significant that it comes only a few months after the publisher got its first female CEO.

I've read a few articles about Walliams on the Daily Mail website recently. I was surprised at some of the allegations. It's a big deal when a publisher the size of HarperCollins, ends their relationship with an author.

I gather these allegations are long-standing and TBH I'm more surprised that Walliams was able to hang on as long as he did, but once again it seems that blind eyes were turned by both the management of various TV companies and, in this case, by the former CEO of HarperCollins.

Indeed. I wonder if his publishing agent will now drop him and whether his existing books will quietly disappear from the shelves in bookshops. They've been big sellers for quite a number of years but there have also reservations about their quality and content.

This has been an open secret for years and it does look like it took a female CEO to finally cut the cord with this creep.
Good work.

He's now been dropped by the BBC as well.

BBC cuts ties with David Walliams after publisher dropped him over claims he harassed junior female staff

The BBC appears to have cut ties with David Walliams after he was dropped by his publisher over claims he had harassed and behaved inappropriately towards female members of staff.

It was confirmed yesterday that HarperCollins would no longer publish the comedian and children's author's works following an internal investigation prompted by accusations against Walliams, 54, emerging in 2023.

Now the BBC has confirmed it has no plans for future projects with him, in the latest blow to any prime time comeback hopes for the Little Britain star.

I feel there is still much more to come out about him. I imagine his lawyers are very busy at the moment trying to stop truths being revealed.

Agreed. The BBC is reknowned for hanging onto and protecting its predators to the bitter end and beyond, so I think we can take it for granted that Walliams is completely finished. Not before he's become a multi-millionaire, though.

He’s still a panel guest on some show on BBC1on Christmas Day though apparently … they are not THAT troubled by his conduct sadly.
They have just edited out the three nazi salutes to keep the tedious licence payers happy.
You really could not make this up.
