Ads now in threads

I'm on a Dell and having the same issues. Couldn't get on at all today because the page kept locking my computer up. Had to restart my computer 4 times, and every single time I came back to WS, it froze my system. I finally just had to give up.

Even when I could get on the past week, I couldn't read or post because the page just kept loading and reloading. Tried refreshing, leaving the site and coming back in...nothing helped. :(

The ads themselves don't bother me, I can tune those out. But as things are now, WS is running so poorly for me, I can barely use it at all. Just typing this short post has taken me about 3 minutes while I wait for the words I've already typed to appear.

I'm having similar issues with unresponsive CGI scripts freezing up, and now I've lost the ability to edit my posts and thank others- although the buttons are there- the links don't work. I've been wondering if it's my laptop or WS.

These are happening to me as well. Thought it was just my computer.
I'm on a MiniMac SnowLeopard(?) using FireFox browser - if that helps/or if I have that correct :blushing:

I am on MacOSX. For several days I have been getting virus warnings occasionally due to the ads. Also since this morning, I have had trouble with pages loading, freezing, and stuttering when trying to make quick replies. I think this is being caused by ads with audio? I can't tell because I can't scroll up or down when this happens. I've reloaded, restarted the browser (Chrome) and restarted my laptop. In this state, the forum is unusable. I don't want to have to install an 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 because I also use this browser for web testing.

These are some of the virus warnings I'm getting from this site.

I also use Firefox, but on a Samsung PC.

I'm having a few issues this morning the ads which should be at the side on threads are at the bottom and my post per page is 50 but only 35 are loading. The bottom part of each page is missing.

I have not been on this site in months and now I'm back, but having difficulty. I don't have a problem with ads,but when one is a video and is running,I can't scroll down. It keeps bouncing back to the beginning . Any suggestions?

I'm having that same problem right now, and was trying to figure out if it was the old desktop computer I'm forced to use right now. I'll open up a thread and start to read a long post when it bumps me down the thread and I lose my place because I didn't take note of the post # I was reading or wanting to thank...
I'm still using Firefox, but my laptop was stolen recently

Get me the name of the advertiser on the video ad and I will block it. Every now and then a bad apple will get thru, but with details I can stop it.

ditto to what you said!! regardless of my attempts to refresh, it's either the site or gremlins that freeze up my keys and my ability to thank ((have been thwarted twice trying to thank you on this one

I will alert if I can find a video ((linked to google ads)) that pops up randomly in a post -- plays and interferes with my ability to type, scroll & or navigate at all! It's happened several times today...

I am having this same problem. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...rial-Discussion-Begins-April-27-2015-6/page17 #401 (I think it is a BP commercial, but then when I signed out and came back in it was a different ad.). This also happened on Page 18 of the same thread. At the bottom it reads googleleads.g.doubleclick,net wants to track your physical location. At first it seems fine until that google thing pops up at the bottom. That's when it stops me from scrolling.

Also an ad for NOS beverage. And I'm more than just a little bit annoyed that the back arrow has been disabled.

I have removed Google from showing any ads in the spot where they were showing videos. Next week I will be trying a competitor, if they put out the same stuff, they will be gone as well.

Thank you. Could you also return the normal function of the back arrow? I don't like having to hold it to get back to my subscription list.

Looks like an ad is causing that as well, let me put in an email.

I know there's probably nothing you can do about ads in the tapatalk app ;)
However, there are times when I need to use the "web view" feature, and I encounter ads in threads.

This just happened for me. I went to WebView, and all was clear (no add in the top post in this thread (Add now in threads). Next, I clicked on the link at the top of the page for the "FEATURED CASE" thread West Mesa Murders. Here's a screenie of the Ad in the top post of the page:

I'm on my home wi-Fi network on an AT&T iPhone4 running iOS 7.1.2
When I clicked the back button, the ad disappeared. FWIW, whenever I've encountered ads in threads, they've always appeared in the top post of the thread.
HTH....

There have been ads on top. Actually before me there were 2 stacked ads

About how long before we should expect to not see these particular ads? It's gotten almost impossible to read threads. They just keep bouncing back to the top of the page and preventing scrolling.

That's happening to me as well - not being able to scroll with bouncing back to the top.

I remember that.
Do you need screenies to see which ads are appearing (they change each time it happens).
I just accessed web view on the Alma Del Real thread (without clicking another link) & it happened again
