Ads now in threads

Looks like an ad is causing that as well, let me put in an email.

The first post on every page pops up with a video inserted into the post. That is a sneaky way of bypassing my .

The last video showed two men kissing over their power to purchase anything with their American Express credit card. Further, although I suffered through that message, the videos continued with other ads as I tried to scroll to read posts. It's intolerable.

I don't mind the side ads but the videos must be stopped. I find it difficult to believe Tricia would be pleased with these occurrences.

Okay, I have tried everything I know to try to stop the video ads. I can't. I have a Dell Desktop and a Dell laptop with Vista 7 on one and Windows 8 on the other. I use Internet Explorer.

The ad from the first post on a page starts blaring and I have to turn my sound off. I dare not refresh because it starts all over again and if I have turned my sound back on to maybe listen to a link in a post, it interferes. I've been on WS for 7 years and have never had this much trouble with the site. I have to stop thanking posts because the thanks button hardly ever works without refreshing.

I have the beginnings of Glaucoma and the animated ads bother me. I have had to turn off avatars because some of them are animated.

Dave, is there anything at all I can do to turn the videos off as well as the animated ads? Please, please tell me if there is! Thanks!

Never Fear. We have removed all the video spots

In their places we will put our own spots and spots from legit charities for the time being.

We gave the agencies a chance to fix the problem and they could not so bye bye. It's not worth it when the videos are so damn annoying.

I didn't realize that others were experiencing the issue with the audio ads. I wasn't able to play videos posted here without hearing two audios simultaneously :gaah: I'm also disappointed that I cannot close out the sidebar ad (previous option no longer available) as I lose a quarter of the page on this site.

Yes. Is this a new, permanent thing? I only actually get about a third if the page. The rest is littered with ads. If that's the way things are going to stay, fine. But I would just like to know.

I also continue to get to get redirects now and then.
