Some TH attorney said last night that Arizona does allow a convicted murderer to waive mitigation. However, psych eval is mandatory and the "waiver process is complex".

If she does waiver the mitigation then for sure it's only because she wants to deny the Alexander Family the satisfaction of testifying and giving their impact statement.

What really is beyond frustrating is again the Alexander family is put in to another delay.

Not only financially but emotionally as well. I'm sure the same can be said for JA's immediate family.

The appeal is automatic, regardless of whether or not she wants it. If no arguments are made, the AZ Supreme Court will still review every bit of the record to make sure there was no fundamental error.

Or, having been an AZ Supreme Court clerk after law school, let me clarify that the CLERKS will review every bit of the record...not the judges personally. We really did take that job seriously, though.

there IS a process where the person can end all appeals, isn't there? i know they get the initial one.

i just recall a case where the appeals went on a long time even though the inmate said he wanted to be executed. you know the one i mean?

Anyone else get a 'black hole' notice from their antivirus program? Mine said the threat was removed.

Ive got something weird going on with my computer. java runtime update keeps opening along with internet explorer with all of these weird sites. I have norton but norton can't pick up anything wrong other than a cookie...how did you fix yours? are you having a similar problem?

I was so sick of people calling her an "aspiring photagrapher" and "artist" we hold those words true to the heart here. JA is none of these things. She slung hash. And that's about all she will ever do.
She set up that intv on Sunday and said so; it was on HLN in one interview. So; if she did that behind their backs, that could be an issue. She has impeded justice once again.
Poor Me. I really feel that someone got ill in that court room and the ambulances were there because of her and the gurney as well......we will see. No One Else came out sick..

Yep! You want to see a psychopath throw an outrageous temper tantrum, try and get them to acknowledge wrong-doing on their part. The only time they will is if they can gain some unfair advantage.

Jean C is sharing on HLN that there is a huge team of mental health experts around her on staff today. Aburpt ending to something that never began. ? whether she was ever transferred yet early JVM did an interview with a COP who stated most likely too much and that she had arrived in a vehicle seperate from all inmates alone in the psych van.

I am very happy that they escaped the media today. How hard it must be to build yourself up for this kind of day in court (Aggravation Phase), with the testimony it would involve, only to have to turn around and walk out again. May they be granted strength and, eventually, some sort of peace.

Well, if the silence IS because she wants to waive the penalty phase, "do not pass go" and go directly to DR. I understand the media blackout. Can you imagine what would be going on on HLN? JVM's head would explode.

absolutely. in the interview from yesterday she said the words that she was abused by travis. she is sticking by that and will scream it from the rooftops as long as she is able to.

Yes you are right. She even went one step further and lied, claiming that she doesn't look over at the Alexander family becuase they are a family that look like Travis and looking at them would be seeing Travis, the man who abused her and she doesn't want to see that.

Travis' sister has said Jodi would stare her down. We've all seen her looking over there. Her brain is just so busy lying she completely forgets a camera has been stuck on her stupid glances for 4 months.
