A NamUs page (UP89841) was created yesterday that seems very similar to this UID. There are many similarities between the two cases, and just a couple of differences, so I am not sure if it's the same set of remains or not.

The skull may have been there for several years.

Hair Color: Blond/Strawberry
Circumstances:
David departed from Eielson Bluffs in Denali National Park for a day hike to the Red Mountain area and never returned. Multiple searches of the area were unsuccessful in locating him.

There's about 43 miles between Red Mountain and Cantwell, not sure what trails/paths you would take though.
