ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The last time Jordan Stamnes talked with her older brother, in February, she told him she was proud of him.

Joshua Kronbach, 40, who legally changed his name to Tony Mac Kronos, recently bought land in Hawaii and Stamnes says her brother was in a good place.

“Tony’s great. He lights up a room. He is funny. He’s intense,” Stamnes said.

The Eagle River man who was last seen March 6 is now considered a missing person, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

″Things were good. He had just bought land in Hawaii, and so I was kind of telling him, ‘I’m proud of you, I love you, this is awesome to see you living your life,‘” Stamnes said about their last conversation. “And he was good. And he was going to work, and just life, just catching up with his sibling.”

Asked for information about the events surrounding his disappearance, the police department responded that it is “an active investigation.”

I wonder why he changed his name? He has a few traffic related court records but nothing else. Opening story link says his parents went to his home and the back door was kicked in, his wallet was there. No mention of a cell phone.

He purchased property in Hawaii back in Feb, posted about it on his Facebook page. Looks like he is a longshoreman?

He changed his name in 2015. Case No. 3AN-15-08180CI In the Matter of: Kronbach, Joshua Mark New Name: Kronos, Tony Mac EAA He had a few minor non-criminal infractions with the law as a very young man, only one misdomeaner for a minor drug possession long ago. Under his new name, he had a divorce in 2018, a speeding ticket and a DUI (2023) (alcohol or controlled substance) that was closed in 2024, 3GL-23-00048CR State of Alaska vs. Kronos, Tony Mac JCA From Alaska Judiciary System: Search Cases - Alaska Court System

Here's his Facebook - looks like he's definately an upbeat person, with a good job and friends. Worrisome he'd go out of contact. He had a post up from work on the 5th (could have been live, could have been an old photo) and a post about Hawaii on the 4th. Tony Mac Kronos. Going back to January, if any of you are familiar with real estate law, there's a partially visible deed to some property. Looks like someone granted some real property to him as grantee for $10 ?? Relative? (I know of people who have granted their property in their last years to a child for literally a dollar to avoid inheritance tax).

He’s a gym rat, as evidenced by one particular revealing post on his Facebook, lol.

I would encourage reading the comments in the APD facebook link.
One of those comments has been substantiated in this link from the PD. Note, the address of the large police presence is the same location that Tony was last seen about a week prior.

I think this is when his parents reported him missing if I’m not mistaken? They were alarmed that the back door was kicked in, he hadn’t been to work in a week and his wallet was in the home.

Everybody wants Josh to come home," Mobley said. “We love him. He has been a pillar in the community. He is a great man. He’s an awesome friend, he’s a hell of a homeboy, he’s a hell of a son.”

Tony's friends must think he's no longer alive?

Numerous patrol cars, as well as the department’s major crime scene van, were parked in the 16700 block of Mercy Drive.

The residence that appeared to be the focus of Wednesday’s activity belongs to CS, according to municipal property records. S is an officer with the Anchorage Police Department, a police spokesman confirmed.

At least once, the police were using dogs, he said.

They focused on Kronos’ house, a neat ranch-style home painted black with white trim.

Making progress I see, hopefully soon we see an arrest!

They did not focus on Kronos' house - this search was focused on the house of the police officer who is suspected of having killed Tony. ADN has been very slow to post anything about this - it's their first article about Tony, in spite of the fact that KTUU has run 4 or 5 - and the guy was literally crowned "Mr. Alaska" in a bodybuilding contest in his 20s. Super popular guy - very suspicious circumstances - and nothing but silence from ADN until yesterday. Then they make sure to NOT include the fact that it was a police officer's house in the title of the article. KTUU's title made it clear it was an officer's house being searched.
